When using your LINEA DOMO DO7109S, please adhere to the following basic safety precautions:

Read all instructions carefully and keep the manual for future reference.

This appliance is intended for household and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas, farm houses, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast environments.

This appliance can be used by children aged 16 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction. Children shall not play with the appliance.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children younger than 16 years.

The appliance must be disconnected from its power source when not in use, during service, and when replacing parts. Allow it to cool before cleaning.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent to avoid a hazard.

The iron must not be left unattended while connected to the supply mains.

The iron must be used and rested on a flat, stable surface that is resistant to heat and hot steam.

The surface marked with a hot surface symbol is liable to get hot during use. It is advised not to touch the surfaces of the appliance other than the handles to avoid burns.

Do not use or store this appliance outdoors.

Do not fill the water reservoir with any liquid other than water.

The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in accordance with all local standards.

To protect against electrical shock or burns, do not immerse the unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.

Unwrap the cord completely to prevent overheating.

To disconnect, turn controls to the “OFF” position, then remove the plug from the wall. Never pull the cord or appliance to remove the plug.

Failure to maintain this appliance in a clean condition could adversely affect its life and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

Before the first use of your LINEA DOMO DO7109S, follow these steps:

1. Remove any stickers or protective foil from the soleplate.

2. Heat up the iron to the maximum temperature and iron on a damp cloth for a couple of minutes to remove any possible residues from the soleplate.

CAUTION:

During the first use, it is normal for a specific odor to escape from the appliance. This will disappear after a while.

Some harmless particles may come out of the soleplate during the first use. This is normal and will disappear.

When turning on the appliance, the steam generator may produce a pumping sound. This indicates that water is being pumped into the steam generator.

While the soleplate is heating up, some steam will be released automatically. This is normal and will last for about 3 seconds.

To dry iron with your LINEA DOMO DO7109S, follow these steps:

1. Place the iron on the thermal insulation pads of the steam generator.

2. Put the plug into the outlet and press the on/off button. The indication light of the on/off button will start flashing.

3. Select the desired temperature with the temperature dial, according to the kind of fabric that needs to be ironed. The temperature indication light will start flashing and the iron will start warming up.

4. When the temperature indication light stays on, the selected temperature has been reached. You can now start ironing.

Caution: Never touch the hot soleplate!

To steam iron with your LINEA DOMO DO7109S, follow these instructions:

Caution: Do not plug in the appliance yet at this point.

1. Open the filling cap and fill the water tank with water. Do not exceed the maximum level (2 L). Use only mains water or a 50/50 mix of mains water and de-mineralised water if you have hard water.

2. Close the filling opening.

3. Put the plug into the outlet and press the on/off button. Set the temperature dial to the desired temperature for your fabric. The temperature indication light and the on/off button light will flash.

4. The water in the reservoir will heat up. When the temperature indication light stays on, the appliance has reached the right temperature. When the on/off button light also stays on, you can iron with steam.

5. To iron with steam, press the steam button on the inside of the iron’s handle for a continuous flow of steam. When you release the button, you will iron dry, without steam.

6. To get rid of stubborn wrinkles, use a steam boost by pressing the steam button twice in rapid succession. Wait 15 seconds before using the steam boost a second time. Note: the steam amount must be set to medium or high.

7. Press the ECO button to iron on a lower steam level. The indication light will light up to show this function is in use.

Please note: Do not touch the hot sole of the iron! Never aim steam at people!

The LINEA DOMO DO7109S has a safety auto-off feature. After ironing, press the on/off button to switch off the appliance. If the steam button or control panel buttons are not used for 10 minutes, the indication lights will start flashing. Pressing a button during this time will keep the iron at temperature. If you do not press a button within 30 minutes, the appliance will switch off automatically as a safety precaution.

Use the temperature dial on your LINEA DOMO DO7109S to select the correct temperature for the material.

For best results with your LINEA DOMO DO7109S, follow these tips:

Always check the garment’s label for ironing instructions.

The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Therefore, iron garments that require the lowest temperature first, like synthetics.

If a fabric contains several types of fibres, choose the lowest temperature for the combination.

Silk and other shiny fabrics should be ironed inside-out.

Velvet and other fabrics that easily become shiny should be ironed with slight pressure, in one direction. Keep the iron moving.

Never iron over zippers or other metal objects in a garment. Always iron around such objects.

Caution: If you iron woollen fabrics, the fabric may become shiny. Turn the garment inside-out for ironing.

To clean and maintain your LINEA DOMO DO7109S:

1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning.

2. Wipe residues from the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner. Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners.

3. Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft, damp cloth.

4. Wipe water drops on the steam generator and the thermal insulation pads with a dry cloth.

5. When not using the steam generator for a long time, pour out the water from the tank and place the iron on the thermal pads for storage.

6. Store the steam hose and power cord in the provided storage area.

CAUTION: Only use tap water (or 50% tap water and 50% demineralized water in case of hard water) in your steam generator. De-scaled or de-mineralised water must never be used on its own but combined with tap water. Using a “softener” or perfumed water can cause brown stains and damage the steam chamber.

After about 11 ironing hours, the indication light of the self-cleaning button will start flashing, indicating that the LINEA DOMO DO7109S needs to be cleaned.

1. Hold the iron over a sink.

2. Press the self-cleaning button for a few seconds. The indication light will flash during the descaling process.

3. The pump will allow water to flow through the iron, cleaning it. This will take about one minute.

4. If the appliance has been cleaned sufficiently, it will turn off automatically.

5. Afterwards, replace the anti-scale cartridge by opening the compartment and pulling the cartridge out vertically.

After you have replaced your descaling cartridge, it will take a little while before you get steam. This is normal as the new cartridge is dry. We advise you to drench the new descaling cartridge in water the night before you plan on ironing.
