This IDEAL 2265 CC document shredder is intended for shredding paper. Other materials may damage the shredder.

The hardened solid steel blade shafts are insensitive to small amounts of paper clips and staples. This does not apply to models with 0.8 x 12 mm and smaller particle cut. In this case, the paper to be shred must not contain any paper clips or staples.

Depending on the device model, small amounts of CDs, credit and customer cards as well as discs can also be shred.

Please strictly follow the safety instructions mentioned below. This manual must be available at any time.

• Take care of long hair.

• Do not grasp into the cutting mechanism.

• Take care of ties and other loose pieces of clothing.

• Warning, moving parts!

• No operation by children! This device is not suited for use at locations where children might be present.

• Do not destroy accumulators/batteries.

• Do not use any spray cans with flammable content near the document shredder.

• Do not use any flammable cleaning agents.

• Caution: parts with sharp corners and edges.

• Remove the plug before cleaning the machine. Do not perform any repairs on the document shredder.

• Ensure free access to the mains power supply.

• Do not operate the machine without the safety flap.

The IDEAL 2265 CC has an automatic standby feature that switches the machine off after 15 minutes of inactivity. The green LED control light will be off, and there will be no more power consumption. Within these 15 minutes, the paper shredder uses 0.650 Wh of energy. The machine can be switched off manually at any time by pressing the power button.

To set up your IDEAL 2265 CC, first place the machine onto the shred bin. Then, plug the machine into a wall socket.

Press the rocker switch quickly: the green light will turn on, indicating the machine is ready for operation. The shredder will start automatically when paper is inserted.

To shred remaining paper in the inlet shaft without activating the sensor, press and keep the switch pressed. The machine will start and shred the paper.

The machine stops automatically when no further paper is inserted. It will enter an automatic standby mode after 15 minutes. The machine can be switched off at any time by pressing the switch (this is not possible when the machine is in reverse motion). When off, the Green LED control light will be off, and there will be no power consumption.

If too much paper is inserted, the IDEAL 2265 CC will stop automatically and engage an automatic reverse function. The “ON/OFF” button will light up red.

1. Remove the paper.

2. Re-feed the paper in smaller quantities.

To manually interrupt the shredding procedure:

1. Press the green button. The machine will stop, and the button will change to red.

2. Press the red button for any length of time. The machine will run in reverse, and the button will flash green.

3. Remove the paper. The machine is now ready for operation.

You should empty the shred bin when it is full. The fill level of the IDEAL 2265 CC can be seen in the viewing window.

You should oil the shredding mechanism if the sheet capacity reduces or after the shred bin is emptied. For the particle cut IDEAL 2265 CC, use either the oiler or oil sheets.

From time to time, you should clean the output area of the cutting head. To do this safely, follow these steps:

• Disconnect the shredder from the mains power.

• Remove paper debris with a brush.

Be aware of the danger of injury from sharp parts.

If your IDEAL 2265 CC will not start, please check the following:

• Is the machine plugged into a power source?

• Is the shredder head placed correctly on the cabinet?

• Is the shred bin pushed in completely?

• Have you pressed the “ON/OFF” button? Is the green LED lamp lit up?

• Are you feeding the paper into the center of the feed opening to activate the photo cell?

If the machine will not stop, the photo cell may be dirty. To fix this, remove the plug from the power source and clean the photo cell (located in the feed opening) with a small brush.

The machine has protection against overload. If it switches off, it has likely overheated. Please let the machine cool down before using it again.

To ensure operation free of malfunctions, empty the shred bin in a sufficient amount of time, at least daily, so that no interference is caused to the cutting heads. If a paper jam occurs that cannot be corrected with the reverse function because of an overfilled shred bin, the shred bin must be emptied.
