Please follow these steps to set up your HP OFFICEJET 6000 printer:
1. Unpack the printer and remove all tape and packaging materials from the outside and inside of the printer.
2. Connect the power cord to the back of the printer and then plug the other end into a power outlet.
3. Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
4. Open the printer cover. The carriage will move to the center.
5. Lift the latch handle on the carriage.
6. Remove the printhead from its packaging and insert it into the carriage. Close the latch handle firmly to secure the printhead.
7. Unpack the ink cartridges. Match the color on each cartridge with the corresponding color on the carriage and insert each cartridge until it clicks into place.
8. Close the printer cover.
9. Load plain white paper into the input tray and adjust the paper guides until they are snug against the paper.
10. The printer will automatically begin an alignment process which takes approximately 10 minutes and will print an alignment page.
