• For less severe bass reduction, use only the outer, larger-diameter foam ring in the port tube.

• For more bass reduction, use the complete two-part bung assembly.

Addressing Uneven Bass:

If the bass seems uneven with frequency, this is likely due to your listening room’s acoustics. Small changes in speaker or listening position can have a significant effect, especially at low frequencies. Try moving your listening position or locating your speakers along a different wall.

Using Floor Stands:

If using floor stands, ensure they rest firmly on the floor. Use carpet piercing spikes if needed and adjust them to eliminate any unevenness. If using STAV24 S2 stands, it is recommended to mass-load them by filling each stand to its maximum volume with a material like kiln-dried sand to deliver the best stability and performance.

If the speaker has been in a cold environment, the damping compounds and suspension materials of the drive units will need time to recover their correct mechanical properties. The drive unit suspensions will also loosen up during the first hours of use.

As a guide, allow up to a week for the temperature effects to stabilize and 15 hours of average use for the mechanical parts to achieve their intended design characteristics.

Cabinet Surfaces:

The cabinet surfaces will usually only require dusting. If you wish to use an aerosol or other cleaner, apply the cleaner onto a cloth first, not directly onto the speaker. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first, as some cleaning products may damage surfaces. Avoid products that are abrasive or contain acid, alkali, or antibacterial agents.

Marks on the paint surface may be removed with a dilute perfume-free soap solution. Any remaining streak marks can be removed by spraying with a proprietary glass cleaner and lightly wiping dry with a microfibre cloth.
