Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.

General Safety:

• Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers.

• Make sure all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code and ANSI/NFPA 70-199. Hire a qualified electrician or consult a do-it-yourself wiring handbook if you are unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.

• Make sure the installation site you choose allows a minimum clearance of 7 ft. from the blades to the floor and at least 30 in. from the end of the blades to any obstruction.

• The net weight of this fan is: 15.19 lbs.

Warnings:

• DANGER: When using an existing outlet box, make sure the outlet box is securely attached to the building structure and can support the full weight of the fan. Failure to do this can result in serious injury or death. The stability of the outlet box is essential in minimizing wobble and noise in the fan after installation is complete.

• WARNING: To avoid personal injury, the use of gloves may be necessary while handling fan parts with sharp edges.

• WARNING: Using a full-range dimmer switch to control fan speed will cause a loud humming noise from the fan. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do NOT use a full-range dimmer switch to control the fan speed.

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury, mount the fan to an outlet box marked “ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT” and use the mounting screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure. The outlet box and its support must be able to support the moving weight of the fan (at least 35 lbs.).

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury, wire connectors provided with this fan are designed to accept only one 12-gauge house wire and two lead wires from the fan. If your house wire is larger than 12-gauge and there is more than one house wire to connect to the two fan lead wires, consult an electrician for the proper size wire connectors to use.

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not bend the blade arms when installing them, balancing the blades or cleaning the fan. Do not insert objects between the rotating fan blades.

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, use only parts provided with this fan. The use of parts OTHER than those provided with this fan will void the warranty.

Cautions:

• CAUTION: Read all instructions and safety information before installing your new fan. Review the accompanying assembly diagrams.

• CAUTION: Be sure the outlet box is properly grounded or that a ground (green or bare) wire is present.

• CAUTION: Carefully check all screws, bolts and nuts on the fan motor assembly to ensure they are secured.

• CAUTION: This device complies with part 15 of FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1) This device may cause harmful interference, and 2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

• CAUTION: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

– Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

– Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

– Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

– Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Before beginning assembly, ensure all parts are present by comparing them with the package contents and hardware contents lists. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.

Initial Installation

1. Turn off the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. DANGER: Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death.

2. This fan is intended for Flushmount Installation. Standard Mounting, Angle Mounting, and Closemount installations are not available.

3. Ensure the blades will be at least 30 in. from any obstructions and at least 7 ft. above the floor.

4. Loosen all four preassembled mounting bracket screws, and completely remove the two screws from the round holes of the canopy. Set the removed screws aside for later use. Turn the canopy counterclockwise to detach the mounting bracket from the canopy.

5. Feed the supply wires from the outlet box through the center hole in the mounting bracket. Secure the mounting bracket to the outlet box (not included) using screws and washers provided with the outlet box. CAUTION: It is very important to use the proper hardware when installing the mounting bracket as it will support the fan.

6. Raise the fan and place the top of the canopy on the hook on the mounting bracket, temporarily leaving your hands free for the wiring process.

Wiring

1. Connect the supply and fan wires:

• Connect the Green wire from the mounting bracket to the Bare/Green (ground) supply wire.

• Connect the White wire from the fan to the White (neutral) supply wire.

• Connect the Black wire from the fan to the Black (hot) supply wire.

Secure all wiring connections together with wire connectors. Note: The Black wire is hot power for the fan. The White wire is neutral for the fan and light kit. The Green wire is the ground wire.

2. Wrap electrical tape (not included) around each individual wire connector down to the wire.

3. Turn the spliced/taped wires upward and gently push the wires and wire connectors into the outlet box. WARNING: Ensure no wire strands are visible after making connections. Place the Green and White wire connections on the opposite side of the outlet box from the Black.

Final Installation

1. On the motor assembly, remove one of the three fitter plate screws from the round hole and loosen the other two. Turn the orange shipping block counterclockwise and remove it. Discard the shipping block.

2. Slide the canopy over the mounting bracket, aligning the slotted holes in the canopy with the previously loosened mounting bracket screws. Twist the canopy clockwise to lock. Then re-insert the mounting bracket screw you removed earlier and securely tighten all screws.

3. Insert a blade through a slot in the side of the motor assembly. Align the holes of the blade with the three blade screw holes on the underside of the motor assembly. Secure the blade with three blade screws and three blade washers. Repeat for the remaining blades.

4. Feed the single-pin connector through the center hole in the light pan. Align the two keyhole slots in the light pan with the loosened fitter plate screws. Place the light pan over the two screws and turn it clockwise. Then tighten the two fitter plate screws. Re-install the fitter plate screw that was removed in step 1 and tighten it firmly.

5. Remove one and loosen the other two light pan screws from the underside of the light pan. Connect the single-pin connector from the fitter plate to the single-pin connector from the light kit (blue to black and white to white). Align the keyhole slots in the light kit with the loosened screws in the light pan. Turn the light kit clockwise, replace the previously removed light pan screw, and tighten all screws.

6. Attach the glass bowl to the light kit by twisting the glass bowl tightly in a clockwise direction until it is secure. CAUTION: Avoid cross-threading the glass during installation. Improper installation could cause the glass bowl to be difficult to remove or fall, which could cause serious injury.

7. If you wish to install the included remote wall bracket, remove the small plate on the bracket to expose the screw holes. Insert screws through the holes and into the wall, then cover with the previously removed small plate. The remote can be stored in the bracket.

8. Use a flat-head screwdriver, if necessary, to remove the battery cover from the back of the remote. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the polarity matches the diagram in the battery compartment. Replace the back cover.

9. Turn on the circuit breakers and the wall switch to the fan supply line leads. Assembly is complete.

To operate the fan using the remote control, press and release the following buttons:

• LED Indicator: Indicates the three speeds of the fan. It should illuminate when any remote button is pressed. If not, replace the 1.5 V, AAA batteries.

• Fan Power button: This button has three options. Pressing the center part turns the fan off or turns it on to the previously selected speed. Press (+) to increase fan speed and (-) to lower fan speed.

• Sleep Timers: Press 2hr, 4hr, or 8hr to turn the fan off after the selected time. Press the Fan Power button to deactivate.

• Reverse Switch: Changes the direction of blade rotation. For warm weather, slide the switch to the left. For cool weather, slide the switch to the right.

• Light Delay: Delays turning the light off for one minute, allowing for a safe exit from the room. The light blinks to confirm the function is active. Press the Light Control button to deactivate and turn the light off.

• Home Shield™: Simulates occupancy while you are away. The fan remains off, and the light randomly turns on for a minimum of five minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes. The light remains off for 60 minutes between events. Press and hold the button to activate; the light will blink to confirm. Press any button to cancel.

• Variable Breeze: Simulates a natural breeze.

• Light Control: Tap the button to turn the light on and off. Press and hold the button to dim or brighten the lights.

• Light Color: Press and hold the button to cycle through the color temperatures from 2200K (warm white) to 6500K (daylight).

• LEARN button (on back of remote): Syncs the remote control to the receiver. (See troubleshooting for instructions).

Important: Shut off the main power supply before you begin any maintenance tasks. Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the ceiling fan.

• At least twice each year, tighten all screws on the fan.

• Clean the motor housing with only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish.

• Clean the blades with a lint-free cloth.

• The total fixture wattage is 23 watts; do not attempt to replace the LED.

Battery Replacement:

• Use 1.5 V, AAA alkaline batteries. WARNING: Keep batteries out of reach of children. May be fatal if swallowed. In the event that a battery is swallowed, immediately consult a doctor.

• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.

• Do not mix different types of batteries such as alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.

• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.

• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire, as they may explode or leak.
