11. Never block the air outlet opening.

12. Keep away from heated surfaces.

13. This appliance is NOT a toy.

14. Do not use the appliance in unheated areas such as a garage or porch.

• Do not install the unit where water can splash on it or near an open window.

• CAUTION: Scent cartridge gel may irritate eyes or skin on direct contact. If eye or skin contact occurs, thoroughly flush with water for 20 minutes. If irritation persists, consult a physician or poison control center. Do not place the scent cartridge with the gel facing finished surfaces or damage may result.

Make sure to remove all packing materials and properly install the carbon filter before use. Remove the plastic bags from the carbon filter and one scent cartridge before using.

1. Remove the scent cartridge holder to access the carbon filter.

2. Remove the scent cartridge from its plastic bag. For normal use, open one cartridge at a time. For a more concentrated fragrance, use both scent cartridges.

3. Place the opened scent cartridge in one side of the scent cartridge holder. NOTE: Each cartridge lasts 30 days. After the scent disappears, replace the cartridge(s). The scent cartridge is optional. The unit will operate without a cartridge.

4. Replace the carbon filter and scent cartridge holder back into the unit.

5. Plug the unit in. The unit can be run continuously.

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse the unit in any liquid.

It is important to clean the unit and replace the carbon filter regularly. Wipe the exterior (base and decorative grass top) with a clean, dry cloth.

The Green Meadow™ Scent Cartridges/Carbon Filter Refill Pack (part 04200) has the following characteristics:

• The refill pack comes with 2 scent cartridges and 1 carbon filter.

• The scent cartridges each last 30 days.

• The carbon filter should last up to 60 days (depending on use).

Use only Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. carbon filters.

Always discard used filters.

If the unit will not turn on, check the following probable causes:

• Is the unit plugged in?

• Is the electrical outlet in working order? Check the outlet by plugging in a lamp.

If you notice a reduced or absent scent, check the following probable causes:

• The air inlet or outlet may be blocked. Make sure nothing is blocking the air inlet or outlet and clean it regularly.

• The carbon filter and/or scent cartridge may need replacing.
