• T20 star bit screwdriver

The outlet for your GAGGENAU GM 451 720 must be properly grounded in accordance with all applicable codes.

• The outlet can be installed in the back wall directly behind the appliance.

• Ensure that the outlet is located outside the cabinet opening.

• This appliance is intended to be fully fitted in a kitchen. It is not intended for use as a tabletop appliance or within a closed cabinet.

• The cabinet must be heat-resistant up to 195°F (90°C), and adjacent cabinet fronts up to 160°F (70°C).

• Ensure the junction box is located outside the built-in niche.

• The cabinet base must be flat and capable of supporting the appliance’s weight.

• The distance from the cabinet cavity to the door panel surface is 1 5/8″ (42 mm).

• Note the overhang for opening drawers next to the appliance.

• For a corner solution, consider a door opening angle of at least 97°.

• When installing above a fully automatic coffee machine, use the intermediate floor or the metal bracket.

• When installing two appliances above each other directly beside a fully automatic coffee machine, use the intermediate floor or the metal bracket between the four appliances.

• The bottom edge of the appliance should not be installed higher than the shoulder height of the primary user while staying within installation dimensions.

WARNING: Overheating of the appliance may cause a fire. Do not install the appliance behind a decorative door or the door of a kitchen cabinet.

The cabinet base must support the weight of your appliance as stated in this table.

1. Carry out cut-out work on the cabinets and then insert the appliance.

2. Carry out cut-out work in the cabinet.

3. After making the cut-outs, remove any shavings, as they may impair the function of electrical components.

4. Secure freestanding cabinets to the wall using a standard bracket.

5. Do not cover the ventilation slots and air intake openings.

6. DO NOT obstruct oven vents.

7. Remove the cabinet back panel behind the appliance or provide a sufficient cut-out in the intermediate floor.

8. Maintain a clearance of at least 1 3/4″ (45 mm) between the wall and the cabinet base or the rear panel of the cabinet situated above.

Carrying the GAGGENAU GM 451 720 by the appliance frame may cause it to bend, as the frame cannot support the weight of the appliance.

• Do not lift the appliance using the appliance frame. Always lift the appliance at the casing.

The electrical connection of the GAGGENAU GM 451 720 must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local and regional safety codes. This product will only operate when L1 and L2 are powered up simultaneously. If this does not occur, an E300 error will be displayed. This appliance should be installed with a branch circuit breaker to allow L1 and L2 to be powered up simultaneously.

Before installing, turn power OFF at the service panel and lock it to prevent accidental power-up. Installation, electrical connections, and grounding must comply with all applicable local codes.

1. Install a suitable junction box (not furnished).

2. Use an appropriately-sized, UL-listed conduit connector to attach the conduit to the junction box.

3. All 4 wires must be connected. The four-wire connection is preferred.

4. If local codes permit grounding through the electrical supply neutral, connect both the white neutral wire and the bare ground wire from the oven to the white neutral electrical supply wire.

5. Connect the red wire from the appliance to the red electrical supply wire (hot wire).

6. Connect the black wire from the appliance to the black electrical supply wire (hot wire).

7. Connect the white neutral wire from the appliance to the white neutral (not bare or green ground) electrical supply wire.

8. Connect the green ground wire from the appliance to the bare or green ground electrical supply wire.

Serviceability must be maintained. Do not shorten the electric conduit cable. Route the electric conduit cable in a way that permits temporary removal of the unit.

• The electrical conduit cable swivels where it is connected at the unit. Rotate the electric conduit cable upward or downward and direct it to the power outlet.

1. Connect the red wire from the appliance to the red electrical supply wire (hot wire).

2. Connect the black wire from the appliance to the black electrical supply wire (hot wire).

3. Connect the white neutral wire from the appliance to the white neutral (not bare or green ground) electrical supply wire.

4. Connect the green ground wire from the appliance to the bare or green ground electrical supply wire.

1. Observe the clearances when installing in a tall cabinet.

– To ventilate the appliance, the intermediate floor must have a ventilation cut-out.

– Only install the appliance up to a height which allows accessories to be easily removed.

2. If the tall cabinet has another back panel in addition to the element back panels, this must be removed.

3. When installing beside a wall, ensure the potential opening angle of the door is based on the minimum clearances to the wall (≥ 3 1/8″ or 80 mm for 97°, and ≥ 7 7/8″ or 200 mm for 110°).

4. Ensure the clearance between the appliance and the wall is 1 3/8″ (35 mm).

1. Push the appliance all the way into the built-in cabinet. Do not kink or trap the connector cable.

2. Center the appliance. There must be an air gap of at least 3/16″ (5 mm) between the appliance and the adjacent cabinet fronts.

3. Use a spirit level to adjust the appliance so that it is perfectly level.

4. Open the appliance door.

5. Secure the appliance to the cabinet using the enclosed screws.

6. Remove the red plastic transport bolt from the upper door catch.

7. Remove any packaging material and adhesive film from the appliance cavity and the door.

NOTICE: Installing appliances that are too heavy on the false floor GA601010 may cause it to bend. Do not install the false floor underneath an oven. If not installed correctly, the false floor may bend.

Note: Do not install a microwave below a fully automatic coffee machine.

Only install the false floor:

• Below a combi-steam oven in the same series.

• Below a microwave in the same series.

• Below a fully automatic coffee machine that you install above an oven in the same series.

• Below a fully automatic coffee machine that you install above a combi-steam oven in the same series.

Do not install the false floor:

• Below an oven.

• Between two fully automatic coffee machines that you want to install vertically stacked.

• Above a combi-steam oven in the same series.

Do not position the appliance at an angle in the recess on the intermediate floor. Slide the appliance into the tall cabinet parallel to the side walls of the built-in cut-out.

The appliance door is already aligned when delivered and alignment is not normally required. If you need to adjust the door’s alignment at the hinge for a precise gap, follow these steps. You cannot adjust the appliance door’s height.

1. Pull the appliance out slightly from its built-in cut-out.

2. Undo the two screws on the side of the appliance.

3. Open the appliance door.

4. Turn the hexagon head screwdriver in either direction to correct the appliance height.

5. Tighten the two screws on the side of the appliance.

6. Slide the appliance into the built-in cut-out.

There are two available opening angles for the appliance door. To change it:

1. Pull the appliance out slightly from its built-in cut-out.

2. Slightly loosen the screw on the right-hand side at the very rear of the appliance.

3. Remove the two screws in front of the black plastic element.

4. Slide the black plastic element to the right.

5. Screw the two screws into the holes further to the right on the appliance. The further to the right you screw them, the smaller the door opening angle. When positioned to the right, the opening angle is approximately 97°.

With an oven:

1. Only combine suitable appliances of the same brand and series.

2. Fit the microwave first, then the oven.

3. When installing beside an oven, ensure appliance doors open in opposite directions.

With a combi-steam oven:

1. Only combine suitable appliances of the same brand and series.

2. Fit the microwave first, then the combi-steam oven.

With a fully automatic coffee machine:

1. Only combine suitable appliances of the same brand and series.

2. Follow the installation instructions for the coffee machine and the false floor.

3. When installing above a coffee machine, use the intermediate floor or metal bracket.

4. When installing two appliances above each other directly beside a coffee machine, use the intermediate floor or metal bracket between the four appliances.

With a warming drawer:

NOTICE: Sharp edges on the appliance may damage the warming drawer’s front panel. Protect the front panel with a cloth before installing another appliance above it.

1. Only combine suitable appliances of the same brand and series.

2. Install the warming drawer first.

3. Follow the installation instructions for the warming drawer.

4. Slide the appliance, on the warming drawer, into the installation cabinet.

1. Turn on power at the breaker.

2. Press the power icon on the control ring. The display will show the GAGGENAU logo for around 30 seconds and then “Initialization”.

3. Set the language.

4. Follow the information in the installation assistant on the display by pressing or turning the control ring.

5. Select the settings for the “Installation height”.

6. Align the display horizontally or vertically depending on the installation position or the primary user’s body height.

7. Deactivate demo mode.

8. To test the oven, select a heating mode as per the User Manual.

9. Verify that the oven light comes on and the oven begins to preheat.

1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

2. Undo the fastening screws.

3. Lift the appliance slightly and pull it out completely.

The rating plate on your GAGGENAU GM 451 720 is located at the door frame close to the lower door hinge.
