To install the speakers for your EXOCOM LINK-1 in a full-face helmet, follow these steps:

1. Using the included speaker mounting kit, position the speakers & MIC at the speaker pockets or proper spots inside the helmet.

2. For best performance, adjust the center of the speakers so they are directly over the center of your ear.

3. Position the MIC centered at the front of the chin bar using the included Velcro tapes.

4. Avoid placing the MIC near any air vents.


How do I install the speakers for the EXOCOM LINK-1 in an open-face or modular helmet?

To install the speakers for your EXOCOM LINK-1 in an open-face or modular helmet:

1. Using the included speaker mounting kit, position the speakers & MIC at the speaker pockets or proper spots.

2. For best performance, adjust the center of the speakers so they are directly over the center of your ear.

3. For open-face and modular helmets, it is recommended to use the BOOM MIC configuration for the best performance.


What is the recommended microphone placement for the EXOCOM LINK-1?

For the EXOCOM LINK-1, if the MIC is too close to your mouth, audio quality can be degraded because of MIC noise.

We recommend locating the MIC slightly to the left side from the center of your mouth position.


How do I install the EXOCOM LINK-1 controller and clamp on my helmet?

1. Ensure the mounting area on the helmet is clean.

2. Determine the optimal location for the mount. Hook the clamp on the bottom of the helmet shell.

3. Push the hook in as much as you can. You can adjust the angle of the clamp hook and push.

4. Align the controller with the rails on the mount and slide it down into place until you hear a “click.” This ensures the controller is properly secured.

5. To avoid water leakage, ensure that the USB cap is closed securely.

6. Tuck any excess wire into the helmet lining or behind the cheek pads.


Can I replace the clamp holder on my EXOCOM LINK-1 for certain helmets?

Yes, you can replace the standard clamp holder with the included Twist Lock Mount for certain ScorpionEXO helmets (e.g., EXO-GT SP AIR, EXO-230). If the Audio Base is not stable after installation, use the included PVC form for the Twist Lock Mount to fill the gap between the helmet and the Audio Base.


How do I install the EXOCOM LINK-1 using the adhesive mount?

1. If you want to use the Adhesive Mount, shape its side flaps to match the curve of your helmet’s surface.

2. It is recommended to have a more pronounced angle on the flaps than the helmet surface so the mount won’t come off later.

3. Following the shape you’ve made, apply the Adhesive Pad to the back of the Adhesive Mount.

4. Attach the mount to the helmet.

5. Push down on the Adhesive Mount for at least 20 seconds.

6. It is recommended to wait 24 hours for the adhesive to fully bond to the helmet surface before riding.


Where should I install the controller for the EXOCOM LINK-1 on my helmet?

The EXOCOM LINK-1 controller should be installed on the left side of the helmet. To maximize antenna function, it is strongly suggested to place it low, along the jaw-line, near your left ear.


How do I pair my EXOCOM LINK-1 with my phone?

1. Start with the EXOCOM LINK-1 powered OFF.

2. Press and hold the PLUS & CENTER buttons simultaneously for about 6 seconds, until the LED blinks alternating blue and red.

3. On your mobile device, open the Bluetooth settings screen.

4. Select the device name (LINK-1/LINK-1C) from the list of available devices.

5. Once paired, the device LED will blink blue. Your EXOCOM LINK-1 is now ready for calls and media streaming.

To cancel pairing, tap the center button once during the pairing process.


What can I do with the EXOCOM mobile app for my EXOCOM LINK-1?

The EXOCOM Mobile Application provides access to configuration, preference settings, wireless firmware updates, user manual, and technical support for your EXOCOM LINK-1.

Before pairing to the EXOCOM App, your LINK-1 device must first be paired to your mobile device’s Bluetooth settings. When the EXOCOM App is connected, the battery status and device name will be displayed on the main page.


How do I use Easy Pairing with the EXOCOM LINK-1?

Easy Pairing for Bluetooth intercom is provided by the EXOCOM Mobile App and is for the LINK-1 only.

Step 1: Power on all LINK-1 devices and ensure they are paired with a phone.

Step 2: Ensure mobile phones are paired with their respective LINK-1 devices (if not already, perform phone pairing).

Step 3: The master rider launches the EXOCOM App.

Step 4: Select ‘BT Intercom’ from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Tap “NFC” to enable Easy Pairing. The app will show “Hold your phone near the device to scan”.

Step 6: The master rider tags their mobile phone to rider 2’s LINK-1 device.

Step 7: Check that rider 2’s LINK-1 has been added to the NFC app list on the master’s phone.

Step 8: Repeat the process for rider 3 and rider 4.

Step 9: Paired member riders will appear on the Master’s LINK-1 Mobile App list.

Pairing can be canceled in a member device by tapping the center button once during the process.


How do I pair multiple EXOCOM LINK-1 devices for Bluetooth intercom?

1. Power On: Turn on all EXOCOM LINK-1 devices by pressing and holding PLUS + CENTER for 3 seconds.

2. Master Pairing (Rider 1): The master device (Rider 1) presses and holds the Plus button for 5 seconds. You will hear “Intercom pairing Rider 1”.

3. Member Pairing (Rider 2): The next device (Rider 2) presses and holds the Center button for 5 seconds.

4. Connection: When the devices are connected, you will hear a ring tone and “Rider 2”, and the audio will automatically turn on.

5. Additional Devices: For Riders 3 and 4, repeat Step 3. When an additional device connects, you will hear “Rider #”.

Notes:

• If connected devices are not able to talk, tap the Center button on the Master device.

• Additional pairing can be stopped by tapping the center button once on the member device during the pairing process.

1. Power On: Turn on all devices.

2. Master Pairing: On your EXOCOM LINK-1, press and hold the Plus button for 5 seconds. You will hear “intercom pairing Rider 1”.

3. Other Device Pairing: Put the other brand’s device into its phone pairing mode. You might hear “Phone pairing” from it.

4. Connection: Once connected, you will hear a ring tone from your EXOCOM LINK-1, indicating the universal intercom is connected.

Notes:

• Only a one-to-one (1:1) connection is supported with Universal Intercom.

• The non-EXOCOM device should be connected last in a chain.

Receiving a call:

You can perform wireless firmware updates via the EXOCOM App.

1. Connect your EXOCOM LINK-1 to your phone and the EXOCOM App.

2. Tap the Menu icon (=) on the upper right of the Main Page screen.

3. If a new version is available, it will be shown beside the “Firmware version” information.

4. Tap “Update version” and follow the on-screen instructions. It is recommended to be connected to WiFi for the update.

5. Confirm “OK” to update the firmware.

6. After the update downloads, select “Now” to reboot the device and install the update.

7. Once the update is completed successfully, the new version information will no longer show an available update.


How do I perform a hard reset on my EXOCOM LINK-1?

If your EXOCOM LINK-1 is not working properly, you can try a hard reset. This method will turn the device off but will keep all pairing information and settings.

To perform a hard reset, press the PLUS, MINUS, and QUICK ACCESS buttons simultaneously.

How do I perform a factory reset on my EXOCOM LINK-1?
