You can place the projector on almost any flat surface to project an image. You can also mount the projector on a commercially available tripod or projector stand. The projector can be installed at various angles with no vertical or horizontal limit.

Note the following points when selecting a location:

• Place the projector on a sturdy, level surface or install it using a compatible mount.

• Leave plenty of space around and under the projector for ventilation, and do not place it on top of or next to anything that could block the vents.

• Place the projector so it squarely faces the screen, not at an angle. If you cannot, correct any resulting keystone distortion using the projector controls. For the best quality images, adjusting the installation position to achieve the correct image size and shape is recommended.

Please follow these safety warnings during installation:

• You must use a ceiling mount when suspending the projector from a ceiling. If not installed correctly, it could fall and cause damage or injury.

• Do not use adhesives on the mounting hole or use lubricants or oils on the projector; the case may crack, causing it to fall.

• Do not install the projector in locations with high levels of dust, humidity, smoke, or steam, as this could cause a fire or electric shock.

• Avoid environments with excessive smoke, airborne oil particles (kitchens), volatile solvents (laboratories), detergents, aroma oils, or near humidifiers.

• Do not cover the air intake or exhaust vents. The internal temperature could rise and cause a fire.

• Do not use or store the projector where it will be subject to dust or dirt, as this can degrade image quality or clog the air filter.

• Do not install on an unstable surface or in a location beyond its weight specifications.

• When installing in a high position, use safety wires to prevent falling in an emergency like an earthquake.

• Do not install in locations where salt damage or corrosive gas could occur.

You can mount the projector on a commercially available tripod or projector stand (floor-stand or ceiling-mount).

1. Turn the projector upside down.

2. Use 1/4-20 UNC size (6.35 mm outer diameter) fixing screws (minimum depth 8.4 mm) to fix the projector’s mounting hole to the mounting hardware at one point.

3. When installing in a high place, attach the optional safety wire set (ELPWR01) to the safety wire attachment point.

4. Mount the projector on the tripod or stand. For details, see the documentation supplied with the tripod or stand.

Warning when mounting on a tripod:

• Use a tripod strong enough to support the projector’s weight.

• Securely tighten the tripod’s screw into the mounting hole. A loose screw could cause the projector to fall.

• Do not carry the projector while it is mounted on a tripod.

• Place the tripod on a flat and stable surface.

If your video source has an HDMI port, you can connect it using an HDMI cable.

Attention: Do not turn on the video source before connecting it to the projector to avoid damage.

1. Connect the HDMI cable to your video source’s HDMI output port.

2. Connect the other end to the projector’s HDMI port.

Note: When sending 18 Gbps images such as 4K 60Hz 4:4:4, use a premium-high speed HDMI cable. An incompatible cable may prevent images from displaying correctly.

You can connect devices like a microphone, USB flash drive, digital camera, or USB hard drive to project content without a video device.

1. If your USB device has a power adapter, plug it into an electrical outlet.

2. Connect the USB device to the projector’s USB-A port.

Notes on USB hard drives:

• Must be USB Mass Storage Class-compliant.

• Formatted in FAT16/32.

• Self-powered by their own AC power supplies (bus-powered drives are not recommended).

• Avoid using hard drives with multiple partitions.

Attention: Use the USB cable supplied with the device. If the cable is too long (over 3 meters), it may not operate correctly. If using a USB hub, functionality is not guaranteed.

If your AV system (e.g., sound bar) has an HDMI port, you can connect it to the projector to output audio.

1. Connect an HDMI cable (with Ethernet) to your AV system’s HDMI output port (eARC or ARC compatible).

2. Connect the other end to the projector’s HDMI port.

3. Make any necessary settings on the connected AV system as per its documentation.

To output audio from the projector’s HDMI port using an ARC connection, set Global CEC control to On in the projector’s menu (Channels & Inputs > Inputs > Global CEC control).

If audio does not output properly, try changing the Digital Output setting to PCM (Display & Sound > Audio Output > Digital Output).

The remote control uses two AAA batteries.

1. Remove the battery cover as shown in the manual illustrations.

2. Remove the old batteries, if necessary. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

3. Insert the new batteries with the + and – ends facing as shown inside the battery holder.

4. Replace the battery cover and press it down until it clicks into place.

Warning: Ensure the batteries are inserted the correct way according to the (+) and (–) marks to prevent explosion or leakage causing fire, injury, or damage.

When you turn on the projector for the first time, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the projector.

2. When the pairing screen is displayed, hold down the Home button and Enter button on the remote control at the same time to pair it with the projector. The indicator on the remote will flash during pairing and turn off when complete.

3. On the language selection screen, select your desired language and follow the on-screen instructions to select your country or region.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to make initial settings for the projector’s OS. It is recommended to log in with your Google Account for more detailed settings.

5. When the Wi-Fi setting screen is displayed, select your wireless network and follow the instructions to connect. An internet connection is required for online content.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions for any other necessary settings.

7. When you agree to the EPSON license terms, the initial setup wizard closes, and the home screen is displayed.

Follow these steps to power on the projector:

1. Connect the AC adapter to the projector’s AC adapter port.

2. Connect the power cord to the AC adapter.

3. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. The projector enters standby mode.

4. Press the power button on the projector or remote control to turn on the projector. The status indicator turns white, and the Auto Shape Correction feature automatically corrects the focus and any distortion.

Warning:

• Never look into the projector lens when the light source is on. This can damage your eyes and is especially dangerous for children.

• During projection, do not block the light from the projector. This can cause the blocked object to melt, burn, or start a fire, and may also cause the projector to malfunction.

Follow these safety instructions when using the AC adapter:

• Unplug the projector and refer repairs to qualified service personnel if you notice smoke, strange odors, strange noises, damage to the adapter, or if liquid/foreign objects get inside.

• Do not use any AC adapter other than the one supplied with the projector.

• Do not apply strong pressure or shocks to the AC adapter.

• Do not hold the AC adapter with wet hands.

• Do not install the adapter in a narrow space or cover it with cloth.

• Do not touch the AC adapter for a long time while it is energized to avoid low-temperature burns.

• Do not spray flammable gas on the AC adapter.

• Do not place the AC adapter near the projector’s air exhaust vent or in a high-pressure container like a microwave oven.

• Do not wind the power cord around the AC adapter.

You can turn off the projector in two ways: Suspended Mode or Deep Standby Mode.

To enter Suspended Mode (standard shutdown):

1. Press the power button on the projector or remote control.

2. The light source turns off, the status indicator turns off, and the projector enters suspended mode.

3. To transport or store the projector, ensure the status indicator is off, then unplug the power cord.

To enter Deep Standby Mode (to reduce power consumption):

1. Hold down the power button on the remote control.

2. Select OK on the shutdown confirmation screen.

3. The light source and status indicator turn off. The projector enters deep standby mode. Note that it takes longer for the projector to start up from this mode.

4. To transport or store, unplug the power cord after the projector is fully off.

You may need to change the projection mode depending on how the projector is positioned. The available modes are:

• Front: Lets you project from in front of the screen.

• Front/Ceiling: Flips the image over top-to-bottom to project upside-down from a ceiling.

• Rear: Flips the image horizontally to project from behind a translucent screen.

• Rear/Ceiling: Flips the image top-to-bottom and horizontally for projection from a ceiling behind a translucent screen.

To change the mode:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Projector > Advanced Settings > Projection.

5. Select a projection mode and press [Enter].

6. Press the Esc button to exit the menus.

If the image is too high or low when projecting from a flat surface, you can adjust the height using the adjustable foot.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the foot release lever to extend and retract the front adjustable foot. You can adjust the position up to 8 degrees.

3. Release the lever to lock the foot in place.

If the projected image becomes unevenly rectangular, you will need to adjust the image shape using keystone correction features.

When the projector is moved or tilted, Auto Shape Correction automatically corrects focus and keystone distortion. It operates under these conditions:

• Projected image size (diagonal) is from 30 to 100 inches before correction.

• Projection distance is about 195.6 to 105 inches (77 to 267 cm).

• Installation angle is within 20º right, left, up, or down.

To manually perform Auto Shape Correction, go to the Projector menu and select Projector > Keystone > Auto Shape Correction > Start Corrections.

You can use the Zoom & Shift feature to adjust the projected image’s size and position.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Projector > Keystone > Zoom & Shift. The zoom adjustment screen is displayed.

5. Use the left and right arrow buttons to adjust the image size.

6. Press the [Enter] button. The screen switches to Shift mode.

7. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the image position.

8. Press the Esc button to exit.

The Screen Fit feature automatically corrects the shape and position of the image to fit your screen. It operates under these conditions:

• Screen size is 30 to 100 inches.

• Projection distance is about 195.6 to 105 inches (77 to 267 cm).

• Projection angle is within about 15º right, left, up, or down.

• The room is not too dark.

• The projection surface is not patterned.

To use Screen Fit:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Projector > Keystone > Screen Fit.

5. Move the projector as necessary to display the on-screen message in the middle of the screen.

6. Expand the projection area so it extends beyond the edges of the screen (move the projector farther away if needed).

7. Select START. Do not move the projector or block the image during adjustment. The image will be corrected.

You can use Quick Corner to correct the shape of an unevenly rectangular image.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Projector > Keystone > Quick Corner.

5. Use the [Enter] button to select a corner point on the image you want to adjust, then use the arrow buttons to adjust the shape.

6. Press the Esc button to exit the menus.

You can correct the focus using the projector menus.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Focus button on the remote control. The focus adjustment screen is displayed.

3. Press the left and right arrow buttons on the remote control to adjust the focus setting.

4. Press the Esc button to exit the menus.

When multiple image sources are connected, you can switch between them.

1. Make sure the connected image source you want to use is turned on.

2. For video sources like a DVD player, insert the media and press play.

3. Press the Source Search button on the remote control.

4. Press the up or down arrow button to select the image source you want.

If no image signal is detected, check the cable connections between the projector and the image source.

You can change the aspect ratio of the displayed image. This setting is available only when the current input source is HDMI.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote control to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Display & Sound > Screen.

5. Select one of the available aspect ratios for your input signal.

6. Press the Esc button to exit.

The following aspect ratios are available:

You can change the projector’s color mode to optimize the image for your viewing environment.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Display & Sound > Display > Picture Mode.

5. Select the color mode you want to use from the list.

6. Press the Esc button to exit.

Available Color Modes:

You can use the projector’s speaker to output audio from a device connected by Bluetooth.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: Projector > Bluetooth Speaker Mode. The Bluetooth Speaker Mode screen is displayed.

5. Enable the Bluetooth function on the device you want to connect and select the projector’s name from the available device list.

The projected image turns off 10 seconds after the Bluetooth connection is established.

6. Press the Esc button to exit Bluetooth Speaker Mode.

You can use the Picture off feature to temporarily blank the screen.

1. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

2. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

3. Select the menus in the following order: Display & Sound > Display > Advanced Settings.

4. Select Picture off to turn off the projected image.

5. To turn the image back on, press the Esc button.

You can get the latest firmware version using the Epson Projector Update app.

1. Press the Home button on the remote control.

2. Select Apps and start Epson Projector Update by selecting it from the apps list.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

Attention: While updating the firmware, do not operate or turn off the projector.

Note: If the latest firmware is available, a notification is automatically displayed on the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to update.

You can reset all projector settings to their default values. This will delete all information such as installed apps, Google Account login information, and menu settings.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the Settings button on the remote to open the dashboard.

3. Select the Settings icon on the dashboard.

4. Select the menus in the following order: System > About > Reset > Factory reset.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to start initializing the projector.

You need to clean the air filter or intake vents if they get dusty or the projector’s Status indicator turns orange.

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Gently remove the dust using a small vacuum designed for computers or a very soft brush (such as a paintbrush).

Attention:

• Do not use canned air. The gases may leave a flammable residue or push dust into the projector’s optics.

• If dust is difficult to remove or the air filter is damaged, contact Epson for help with replacement.

If the projector does not turn on when you press the power button, try these steps:

1. Make sure the power cord is securely connected to the projector, to a working electrical outlet, and to the AC adapter.

2. If using the remote control, check the batteries.

3. The power cord or AC adapter may be defective. Disconnect the cord and contact Epson for help.

If the projector’s light source turns off unexpectedly, try the following:

1. The projector may have turned off due to the Shut-Off Timer setting. Press the power button to turn it back on. Check the setting at System > Power & Energy > Shut-Off Timer.

2. If switched to an HDMI source with no signal, the projector may enter standby mode after the time specified in No signal standby timeout. Press the power button to wake it. Check the setting at Channels & Inputs > Inputs > HDMI 1 > No signal standby timeout.

3. If the status indicator is lit orange, the projector has overheated and turned off. Let it cool down and check for blocked vents.

If no image is displayed, try the following steps:

1. Check the projector’s status indicator to confirm it is in normal operating status (lit white).

2. Check cable connections to ensure they are secure.

3. Check the status of your video source. Turn it on and press play if necessary.

4. Check the following items:

• Ensure your Wi-Fi is on for online content.

• Turn off the projector and video source, then turn them back on.

• Reset all projector settings to their default values.

If only a partial image is displayed:

1. Adjust the position using the Zoom & Shift setting in the menu.

2. Select an appropriate aspect ratio from the Screen menu (for HDMI source).

3. Make sure you select the correct projection mode.

If the projected image is fuzzy or blurry, try these steps:

1. Press the Focus button on the remote control and adjust the focus manually.

2. Position the projector close enough to the screen and ensure the keystone adjustment angle is not so wide that it distorts the image.

3. Clean the projector’s lens.

4. Adjust the Sharpness setting in the Display & Sound > Display menu.

5. If projecting from a computer, use a resolution that matches the projector’s native resolution.

If the image is too dark, too bright, or the colors are incorrect, try these steps:

1. Try different color modes by adjusting the Picture Mode setting in the Display & Sound > Display menu.

2. Check your video source settings.

3. Adjust the color settings (like Brightness, Contrast) in the Display menu.

4. For HDMI sources, make sure you selected the correct HDMI RGB Range setting in Display & Sound > Display > Advanced Settings.

5. Make sure all cables are securely connected.

6. Position the projector closer to the screen.

If there is no sound or the volume is too low, try the following steps:

1. Adjust the projector’s volume using the volume buttons on the remote control.

2. Check the cable connection between the projector and your video source.

3. Check your video source to make sure its volume is turned up and the audio output is set correctly.

4. If you want audio from the projector’s speakers, check that Global CEC control is set to Off in the Channels & Inputs > Inputs menu.

5. If you want to output audio to an external device via HDMI eARC/ARC, set Global CEC control to On and ensure the HDMI cable is compliant.

6. If audio is still not outputting to an external HDMI device, try changing the Digital Output setting to PCM in the Display & Sound > Audio Output menu.

If the projector does not respond to the remote control, try these steps:

1. Check that the remote control batteries are installed correctly and have power. Replace them if necessary.

2. Check if any buttons on the remote are stuck down.

3. If the pairing screen is displayed, perform pairing again by holding down the Home and Enter buttons for about three seconds.

4. Perform pairing manually from the Remotes & Accessories menu.

5. Make sure you are operating the remote control within the reception angle and range of the projector.

6. Dim any strong fluorescent lighting, direct sunlight, or move away from infrared devices that may be interfering with the remote receivers.

7. The remote control may be defective. Contact Epson for help.
