To ensure safe operation of your CHIQ L24K3 TV, please follow these instructions:

Attachments: Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Water: Do not expose the apparatus to rain or moisture.

Fire or explosion: Do not use or store flammable or combustible materials near the unit. Keep candles or other open flames away from this product at all times.

Ventilation: Maintain a distance of at least 4 inches between the TV and other objects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure proper ventilation.

Power source: This product should be supplied by a listed power supply indicated on the marking label.

Overloading: Do not overload wall outlets or extension cables.

Power plug: Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.

Wall mounting: When mounting the product on a wall, be sure to install it according to the method recommended by the manufacturer.

Stand: Do not place the product on an unstable trolley, stand, tripod, or table. Always place the TV on furniture that can safely support it.

Entering of objects and liquids: Never insert an object into the product through vents or openings. Do not spill water or liquid on the product.

Antenna: Install the antenna away from high-voltage power lines and communication cables.

Panel protection: The panel is made of glass. Be careful not to be injured by broken glass pieces in case the panel breaks.

Batteries: The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like.

The buttons on the main unit of your CHIQ L24K3 TV have the following functions:

POWER: Turns the unit on and off.

SOURCE: To switch among the signal source.

MENU: Open the menu.

CH+/CH-: Changes the channels.

VOL+/VOL-: Adjust the volume.

The CHIQ L24K3 TV is equipped with the following input and output ports:

1. DC IN: DC Adapter port.

2. AV: AV IN port.

3. HDMI: HDMI port.

4. VGA: VGA port.

5. ANT: Antenna port.

6. EARPHONE: Headphone port.

7. USB: USB port.

8. PC Audio: PC Audio port.

Please note that input/output connectivity options may change from model to model.

Follow these steps to install batteries in your CHIQ L24K3 remote control:

1. Open the cover at the back of the remote control.

2. Install two AAA size batteries. Make sure to match the “+” and “-” ends of the batteries with the diagram inside the compartment.

3. Replace the cover.

Notes on Using Batteries:

Always ensure that the batteries are inserted with the + and – terminals in the correct direction.

Do not mix different types of batteries.

Do not mix old and new batteries.

Replace batteries as soon as they do not work.

The batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

The buttons on the CHIQ L24K3 remote control have the following functions:

POWER: Press to enter or exit the standby mode.

MUTE: Mute or restore sound.

NUMBER BUTTONS (0-9): Choose channels or password importation.

FAVORITE (♥): Switch on/off the favorite programs list.

EPG: Electronic Program Guide, use in the DTV mode.

MENU: Press to display/disappear the on screen menus or to quit some operations.

SOURCE: Press to select signal source.

ENTER: Select or confirm menu item.

DIRECTION BUTTONS (▲/▼/◄/►): Press the direction buttons to select menu options or settings.

RETURN (↩): Return to last viewed program.

EXIT: Quit the current interface.

SLEEP: Press to set the sleep timer. When the preset length of time has passed, the TV set enters standby mode.

VOL+/VOL-: Press to adjust the volume level up or down.

CH^/CH∨: Press to select channels in ascending or descending order.

CH.LIST: Press to call up the channel list. Press again to exit it.

ASPECT: Selects the screen size.

REC: In DTV mode, press to record.

PVR.L: In DTV mode, press to record.

T-SHIFT: Displays recorded program information.

Fast reverse/forward, Previous/Next, Play/Pause, Stop: Used in Media mode.

SUBTITLE: Enter the subtitle menu.

CANCEL: Displays recorded program information.

TEXT: Press this button enter to TELETEXT mode.

HOLD: In TELETEXT mode, stops the page from automatically changing.

REVEAL: For teletext Mode. Press this button to see the answers.

SUB.PAGE: Displays the subpage information in TELETEXT mode.

SIZE: Switch Teletext size.

INDEX: For teletext Mode. To return to index page.

FREEZE: Freeze picture.

COLOR BUTTONS: Red/green/yellow/blue key navigation link.

Turn on the TV

Connect the TV to your mains socket. If the TV has a power switch, turn it on first. In standby mode, press the POWER button on the remote to turn on the TV.

Turn off the TV

Press the POWER button on the remote control to enter standby mode. Do not leave your TV in standby mode for long periods. It is best to unplug the power cord.

NOTE: If there is an accidental power off, the TV will be in standby mode automatically after power is re-supplied. To ensure normal use of the TV, frequent turning on and off is forbidden. If there is an accidental power off, it is recommended to unplug the power cable from the power socket.

When you turn on the CHIQ L24K3 TV for the first time, the Initial Setup Menu will appear. Make sure the antenna is connected and follow these steps:

1. Set your desired language: Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select the language for menus and messages.

2. Select your country: Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select the country you are living in, then press the ► button.

3. Select your time zone: Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select a time zone, and then press the ► button.

4. Select your TV environment: Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select Home Mode or Store Mode. Home mode is recommended for the best energy efficiency. Press the ► button.

5. Auto Tuning: Press the ► button to start the auto searching for channels. The TV will first tune DTV channels. You can press the Menu and left arrow button to skip DTV tuning.

NOTE: If the TV doesn’t receive any channels, check your aerial connection or the country you selected, then try an auto search again. If only some channels are received, the aerial’s reception might not be good enough and an antenna service is recommended.

Choosing a TV channel

• Using the CH^/CH∨ on the remote control: Press CH^ to increase the channel number and CH∨ to decrease it.

• Using 0-9 digital buttons: You can select the channel number by pressing 0 to 9. For a two-digit channel like 20, press 2 and 0 in a short time.

Volume Adjustment

• Press the VOL+/- on the remote control to adjust the volume.

• To switch the sound off, press the MUTE button.

• You can release mute by pressing the MUTE button again or by increasing the volume.

Changing the Input Source

You can select the input source by pressing the SOURCE button on the remote control. Press the ▲/▼ buttons to cycle through the input source list, and press the ENTER button to confirm your choice.

Follow these steps to navigate the menus on your CHIQ L24K3 TV:

1. Press the MENU button to display the main menu.

2. Press the ◄/► buttons to cycle through the main menu options (Channel, Picture, Sound, Timer, Lock, Option).

3. Press the ENTER button to access the submenu page for the selected option.

4. Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select your preferred sub-option.

5. Press the ◄/► buttons to adjust the value of the selected sub-option.

6. Press the MENU button to return to the previous menu.

7. Press the EXIT button to exit the entire menu.

NOTE: When a menu item is displayed in gray, it means that the item is not available or cannot be adjusted. Some items may be hidden depending on the current mode or signal source.

The Channel Menu on your CHIQ L24K3 allows you to manage TV channels. Here’s how to use its features:

Auto tuning: Select this and press ENTER to start an automatic channel search. The TV will memorize all available TV, DTV, and Radio channels.

DTV Manual Tuning: Press ENTER, then use the ◄/► button to select a channel, and press ENTER to search. The search will stop when a channel is found.

ATV Manual Tuning: Allows for manual storing of ATV channels. You can set the storage number, sound standard, video standard, and search for channels up or down from the current frequency, or fine-tune the frequency.

Programme Edit: Press ENTER to enter this submenu. Here you can highlight a channel and then use the colored buttons to manage it:

• Delete (RED): Press the RED button to delete the channel.

• Move (YELLOW): Press the YELLOW button to set the channel to moving state, then use ▲/▼ buttons to move it to a new position.

• Skip (BLUE): Press the BLUE button to skip the channel. Your TV will skip this channel when using CH^/CH∨.

• Favorite (FAV button): Press the Favorite button to set the channel as a favorite.

Signal Information (DTV only): Select this to see detailed signal information for the current DTV channel.

You can adjust the picture settings in the Picture Menu of your CHIQ L24K3 TV:

Picture Mode: Select a preset picture mode. Contrast, Brightness, Color, Sharpness, and Tint (NTSC only) can be adjusted when the picture mode is set to ‘User’.

• Contrast: Adjust the white level of the picture.

• Brightness: Adjust the darkness of black sections in the picture.

• Color: Adjust the color intensity of the picture.

• Sharpness: Object edges are enhanced for picture detail.

• Tint: Adjust the hue of the picture (valid only for NTSC signals).

Color Temperature: Select the color temperature that you feel comfortable with.

Aspect Ratio: Select the picture size that best corresponds to your viewing requirements.

NR (Noise Reduction): Reduces screen noise without compromising video quality.

OverScan (In DTV mode): The picture reproduction rate is adjusted.

Picture Reset: Reset all picture settings to the factory defaults.

You can adjust the sound settings in the Sound Menu of your CHIQ L24K3 TV:

Sound Mode: You can select a sound mode to suit your personal preferences. Treble and Bass can be adjusted when the sound mode is set to ‘User’.

Balance: Adjust the level of sound coming from the left and right speakers.

AVL (Auto Volume Level): Automatically maintains a consistent volume level when you change programs.

Surround: The surround sound can be enabled or disabled to experience unique audio effects.

SPDIF Mode: You can select a desired SPDIF Output mode.

The Timer Menu on your CHIQ L24K3 allows you to control time-related functions:

Clock: Display either the DTV signal stream time or set the time manually.

Sleep Timer: Switches the TV to standby after a defined period of time. To cancel the Sleep Timer, set it to “Off”.

Auto Sleep: Select the Auto Sleep time you want. The TV will enter into standby mode automatically when there is no operation in the set time.

Time Zone: Select your time zone. (When Auto Sync is set On, the Time Zone can be adjusted).

OSD Timeout: Select the time in seconds (15s, 30s, 60s, off) that you want the On-Screen Menu to remain on display after your last operation.

The Lock Menu on your CHIQ L24K3 can prevent unauthorized use. The default password is 0000.

Lock System: Turn this feature on or off. When on, you must enter the 4-digit password to access locked features.

Set Password: Press ENTER to access the submenu. You can set your private password. Press the number buttons on the remote control to set the new password. When the new password has been input twice, the setting is finished successfully. If you forget your password, the super password of 1225 is still valid.

Block Program (In ATV/DTV mode): Press the YELLOW button to lock the selected channel. Press YELLOW again to unlock it. To watch a locked channel, you must enter your password.

Parent Lock (In DTV mode): This feature can prevent children from watching adult’s TV programmes, according to the rating limit set. This function depends on the information from the broadcasting station.

To use the PVR function on your CHIQ L24K3, you need a USB flash drive or hard disk with at least 512MB capacity, supporting USB 2.0 high-speed specification. The PVR function can only be used in DTV mode.

Setup:

1. Plug your USB device into the USB slot.

2. Switch the TV to DTV mode using the SOURCE button.

3. Press MENU, go to the ‘Option’ menu, and press ENTER.

4. Highlight ‘PVR File System’ and press ENTER to go into the submenu.

5. In the submenu, you can select the disk, check the PVR file system (test speed), or format the USB disk. Always back up important files before formatting.

Instant Recording:

1. Select the DTV channel you want to record.

2. Press the REC button to start recording.

3. Press the REC button again to display/hide the recording menu.

4. The TV will keep recording until you press the STOP button or the memory is full.

Schedule Recording:

1. Press the EPG button to bring up the EPG menu.

2. Press the RED button to activate the timer recording submenu.

3. Use the ▲/▼ and ◄/► buttons to highlight and change settings like channel, date, start time, and end time.

4. Press ENTER to save the scheduled recording.

NOTE: You can set up several schedule programmes. Different schedules should not overlap and there must be at least a 1-minute time gap between two schedules.

Playing the Recorded Programmes

Option 1:

1. After recording, press the INDEX button to display the Recorded list.

2. Press the ▲/▼ button to select the recorded file, then press ENTER to play it.

3. Press the RED button to delete a file you no longer require.

4. Press the EXIT button to quit the menu.

Option 2 (in USB mode):

1. Press SOURCE and select USB.

2. Use the ◄/► button to select MOVIE, then press ENTER.

3. Navigate to the desired disk and folder containing the recordings.

4. Highlight the file and press the Play (►II) button to play.

Time Shift Function

This function lets you pause, rewind, and fast-forward live TV. It automatically records the live TV broadcast to your connected USB device.

1. Press the T-SHIFT button on the remote to activate the Time Shift function.

2. The TV will start recording the channel from that point onwards.

3. You can now use the playback controls (pause, rewind, play) as if you were watching a recorded file.

NOTE: If the USB device dedicated to recording is disconnected, Time Shift files that were saved will be automatically deleted.

The USB media player on the CHIQ L24K3 supports the following formats. Note that max resolution is 1080P 30fps and MPEG-4 V2 is not supported.

First, insert a USB memory device into the USB port and press the SOURCE button to select USB mode.

Basic Operation:

1. Use the ◄/► buttons to select PHOTO, Music, Movie, or TEXT. Press ENTER to enter the sub-menu.

2. Use the arrow buttons and ENTER to select the desired disk and open the folder.

3. Use the arrow buttons to highlight a file. Press ENTER to mark or unmark a file. Press the Play (►II) button to play the selected files. If no file is marked, all files in the folder will be played in sequence.

4. Press the Stop (■) button to stop playback.

5. Press EXIT to return to the previous menu or quit.

During Playback:

Press the INFO/ENTER button to display the on-screen toolbar. Use the ◄/► buttons and ENTER to select functions like Previous, Next, Rotate (for photos), Enlarge (for photos), Play, or Pause from the toolbar.

PROGRAMME GUIDE (In DTV mode)

Press the EPG button to display the Programme Guide. This shows detailed program information for the next eight days (if available from the broadcaster).

• Use ▲/▼ buttons to select a different channel and press ENTER to switch to it.

• Recorder (Red button): Set parameters for recording a future program.

• Info (Green button): See detailed information about the current program.

• Schedule (Yellow button): Display the list of scheduled recordings.

• Reminder (Blue button): Set a reminder for a future program.

Channel List

Press the LIST button to display the Channel List. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select a channel and press ENTER to watch it. Use the CH^/CH∨ button to page up or down the list. Press EXIT to close the list.

Favorite List

Press the Favorite (♥) button to display the Favorite List. Use the colored buttons to select the desired favorite group. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select a channel and press ENTER to watch it. Press EXIT to close the list.

To use the teletext feature on your CHIQ L24K3, first select a TV station that broadcasts a teletext signal.

• Display teletext: Press the TEXT button to enter teletext mode. Press it a second time to enter Mix mode (teletext over the TV program). Press it a third time to return to the normal TV/DTV mode.

• Page selection: Enter the three-digit page number using the number buttons. Use the CH^/CH∨ button to select the next or previous page.

• Hold: Press the HOLD button to hold the current page and prevent it from changing. Press it again to release.

• Index: Press the INDEX button to go directly to the main index page.

• Enlarging Text: While on a page, press the SIZE button to enlarge the top half of the page. Press it again to enlarge the bottom half. Press it a third time to return to normal display.

• Reveal mode: Press the REVEAL button to display concealed information (e.g., answers to puzzles). Press it again to hide the information.

• Subpage: To access a subpage, press the SUB.PAGE button and then enter the subpage number using the number buttons.

• Color buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue): Press these buttons to directly access the corresponding color-coded pages shown at the bottom of the teletext screen.

If you experience problems with your CHIQ L24K3, you might diagnose and find solutions for the following common issues without contacting a technician.

Careful and regular cleaning can extend the life of your new CHIQ L24K3 TV. Be sure to turn the power off and unplug the power cord before you begin any cleaning.

Cleaning the screen

1. Wet a soft cloth in a mixture of lukewarm water and a little fabric softener or dish washing detergent. Wring the cloth until it’s almost dry, and then use it to wipe the screen.

2. Make sure the excess water is off the screen, and then let it air-dry before you turn on your TV.

Cleaning the cabinet

To remove dirt or dust, wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Please be sure not to use a wet cloth.

Extended Absence

If you expect to leave your TV dormant for a long time (such as a vacation), it’s a good idea to unplug the power cord to protect against possible damage from lightning or power surges.
