How do I set up the CHANNEL MASTER CM-3001HD antenna?

Step 1. Connect one end of the blue-banded coaxial cable to the corresponding blue-colored connector (“ANT”) on the power supply. Connect the other end of the blue-banded cable to the connector at the bottom of the body of the antenna.

Step 2. Connect one end of the yellow-banded coaxial cable to the corresponding yellow-colored connector (“TV”) on the power supply. Connect the other end of the yellow-banded cable to your television, set-top box, or DVR.

Step 3. Use tape to temporarily attach the SMARTenna+ to the desired location. Ideal placement is on a wall or in a window, facing the direction of the broadcast towers in your area.

Step 4. Plug the SMARTenna+ power supply into an electrical outlet. After plugging it in, move to the position (on a couch, in a chair, etc.) at which you will normally watch TV. The SMARTenna+ will run a scan for approximately 2 minutes to optimize the antenna settings.

During the scanning period, the LED on the antenna will blink continuously. Remain at your preferred viewing location during this initial scan to allow the antenna to account for radio wave reflections caused by objects or people. Do not stand in front of the antenna during the scanning period. Once the scan is complete, the LED will turn a solid color.

Note: If the antenna is moved during the scanning period (blinking LED) or during normal operation (solid LED), it will need to be unplugged or reset to repeat the scanning process.

Step 5. After the SMARTenna+ scanning is complete, ensure your television, set-top box, or DVR is set to scan for Antenna channels, NOT CABLE. You will need to choose the option that says Antenna, Air, or Broadcast. Once your device is set, proceed with the Auto Channel Scan.

Step 6. Once desired performance is achieved and you have checked that all desired channels are being received, permanently attach the antenna using the included adhesive tabs.

What should I do if I’m missing a channel after the initial setup of my CHANNEL MASTER CM-3001HD?

Once the Channel Scan on your TV or converter box is complete, check to make sure all desired channels are being received. If you think you are missing a channel, repeat the setup steps in an alternative location and then rescan for channels on your device.

How do I use the different antenna modes on the CHANNEL MASTER CM-3001HD?

The CHANNEL MASTER CM-3001HD comes with 7 different selectable antenna modes to fine-tune reception if you are not getting optimal performance after the initial scan.

The antenna is automatically set to operate in Mode 1 by default.

To switch to other Modes, quickly press the button on the bottom of the antenna to select the other modes: 2 quick pushes for Mode 2, 3 quick pushes for Mode 3, and so forth, up to 7 pushes for Mode 7.

After making your mode selection, the LED will quickly flash to indicate the antenna mode selected – 2 flashes indicate Mode 2, 3 flashes indicate Mode 3, and so on.

To return to Mode 1, quickly push the button a single time.

Note: When using alternate antenna Modes, you can optionally re-run the channel scan on your TV to see if additional channels can be picked up.
