Electrical Safety:

Maintain correct wiring shapes; embossed shapes are not allowed. Wires should be reliably connected to prevent the electrical cabinet cover from clipping them, which could cause heating or fire.

Refrigeration Cycle:

While placing or reinstalling the air conditioner, do not let air enter the refrigeration cycle system. Air in the system could lead to cracking or physical injuries due to abnormally high pressure.

Piping and Drainage:

To prevent harmful gases from entering the room, do not drain water from the drainpipe into a sanitation pipe that could contain harmful gases like sulfurated gas.

The drainpipe must be properly mounted according to the manual to ensure smooth drainage and insulated to avoid condensation. Improper mounting can cause water leakage.

The refrigerant gas pipe and liquid pipe should be properly insulated to prevent condensation, which can cause dripping and water damage.

Grounding and Electrical Protection:

The air conditioner should be effectively grounded. Electric shocks may occur if it is ungrounded or improperly grounded. The earthing wire should not be connected to gas pipes, water pipes, lightning rods, or telephones.

A breaker for electricity leakage should be mounted to prevent accidents such as electric shocks.

Operational Cautions:

Placing any heating apparatus under the indoor unit is prohibited as it might distort the unit.

Flammable apparatuses should not be placed where the air from the air conditioner can come in direct contact.

Plants and animals should not be placed in the direct path of the wind from the air conditioner, as it could harm them.

This air conditioner cannot be used for the preservation of food, living creatures, precision instruments, or artworks.

Always use a fuse with the proper capacity.

To avoid electric shock, do not touch the switch with wet hands.

Close windows to keep outdoor air from entering. Use curtains or window shutters to avoid direct sunlight.

Stop the unit and switch off the manual power when cleaning the unit.

Cleaning the unit with water may cause an electric shock.

Do not put or direct flammable sprays at the air conditioner, which may cause a fire.

The air cleaner should be cleaned only when it is switched off and disconnected from the power supply, otherwise electric shock and injury may occur.

Cleaning Instructions:

Wipe them with a soft dry cloth.

If the dust cannot be removed, water or a neutral dry cleanser is recommended.

Attention:

Do not use gasoline, benzene, diluents, polishing powder, or liquid insecticide to clean them.

Do not clean them with hot water above 50°C to avoid fading or distortion.

Step-by-step cleaning:

(A) For light dust, clean the air cleaner with a vacuum cleaner or water to remove dust.

(B) For excessive dust, use a soft-hair brush and a mild detergent to clean. If there is too much dust, you can also use a fan or directly spray special cookware detergent on the air inlet grid, and then clean it with water after 10 minutes.

(C) Allow the filter to dry fully before reinstalling.

Attention:

Do not clean with hot water over 50°C to avoid fading or distortion.

Do not dry on the fire, as the cleaner might cause a fire.

If your CARRIER 40VD036H-7S-QEE fails to work, please recheck the following before calling for service:

Check if there is a power failure.

Check if the manual power switch is turned off.

Check if the supply fuse and breaker are disconnected.

Check if the protective unit is working.

Check if refrigerating and heating functions are selected simultaneously with the awaiting indication on the line control.

The following are normal operational concerns for your CARRIER 40VD036H-7S-QEE:

Water flow sound: This can be heard when starting, during, or after stopping operation. It is the flowing sound of the refrigerant or draining of condensed water and may become louder after 2-3 minutes of operation.

Cracking sound: During operation, the unit may make a cracking sound, which is caused by temperature changes or the slight dilation of the heat exchanger.

Bad smell in outlet air: This is caused by smells from walls, carpet, furniture, clothing, cigarette smoke, and cosmetics that attach to the conditioner.

Flashing operating indicator: When switching the unit on again after a power failure, turn on the manual power switch, and the operating indicator will flash.

Awaiting indication: This happens when the unit fails to perform a refrigerating operation while other indoor units are heating, or vice versa. When the operation is opposite to the setting, it displays the awaiting indication.

Sound/steam when indoor unit is shut down: To prevent oil and refrigerant from blocking shutdown units, refrigerant flows for a short time, making a sound. White steam or cold air may appear when other units are operating.

Clicking sound on startup: This sound occurs due to the resetting of the expansion valve when the air conditioner is powered on.

Under the following circumstances, immediately stop the operation, disconnect the manual supply switch, and contact after-service personnel:

When buttons are inflexibly actuated.

When the fuse and the breaker have been burnt.

When there are foreign objects and water in the refrigerant.

When other abnormal conditions occur.

Follow these steps to test the drainage system:

(a) After testing the electrical system, test the drainage system.

(b) During testing, make sure that the water flow passes through the piping correctly without any water leakage at the connections.

(c) In a new house, test the drainage system before fitting the ceiling.

(d) The test should still be performed even if it is installed in a season when heating is needed.

(e) To check during operation, provide about 1000cc of water to the equipment via the air outlet port with the feed pump. During refrigerating operation, check the drainage system.

The noise level of the machine is below 70 dB. The specific sound levels and weights are as follows:

The default setting for the 26°C Lock function is Deactivated.

Activation: Press the “Health” button on the remote controller 8 times in 5 seconds. When you hear the beep 4 times, the function is activated.

Deactivation: Press the “Health” button on the remote controller 8 times in 5 seconds. When you hear the beep 2 times, the function is deactivated.

Before the first test run, perform the following checks:

Test the supply terminal tier (L, N terminals) and grounding points with a 500V mega-ohm meter. Check if the resistance is above 1MΩ. Do not operate if it is below 1MΩ.

Connect to the power supply of outdoor units to energize the compressor’s heating belt. To protect the compressor on startup, power it on for 12 hours prior to operation.

Check if the installations of the drainpipe and connection line are correct.

When the machine fails to start due to room temperature, you can initiate a forced run for testing purposes. This function is not available with the remote control.

Set the wired controller to refrigerating/heating mode, then press the “ON/OFF” button for 5 seconds to enter the compulsive refrigerating/heating mode. Press the “ON/OFF” button again to quit the compulsive running and stop the operation of the air conditioner.

When a fault appears, consult the fault code on the line control or the flashing time for LED5 of the indoor unit’s computer panel/health lamp of the remote control’s receiving window. Find the fault in the table below to identify the issue.
