When operating your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, please observe the following notices:

• Placing any heating apparatus under the indoor units is prohibited; doing so might distort the units.

• Flammable apparatuses should not be placed where the air from the air conditioner can come in direct contact.

• Plants and animals should not be placed in the direct path of the wind from the air conditioner; doing so could harm them.

• The air conditioner cannot be used for the preservation of food, living creatures, precision instruments, artworks, among others, otherwise damage may occur.

• Use the fuse with proper capacity.

• To avoid electric shock, do not touch the switch with wet hands.

• Close the window to keep outdoor air from entering. Curtains or window shutters can be drawn to avoid sunlight.

• Stop the unit and switch off the manual power when cleaning the unit.

• During the operation of the control unit, do not switch off the manual power switch; the controller can be used instead. To prevent damage, please do not press the liquid crystal zone of the controller.

• Cleaning the unit with water may cause electric shock.

• Do not put flammable sprays close to the air conditioner.

• Do not direct flammable sprays at the air conditioner, which may cause fire.

• Stopping fan rotation: The unit that stops operating will actuate the fan for a 2-8 min swing every 30-60 minutes for protecting the unit while the other indoor unit is in the operating state.

• Defrosting during heating: To improve the heating effect, the outdoor unit will perform defrosting automatically when frost appears on the outdoor unit during heating (approximately 2-10 min). During defrosting, the fan of the indoor unit runs at a low speed or stops while that of the outdoor unit stops running.

To clean the air outlet port and shell of your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, follow these instructions. The air cleaner should only be cleaned when it is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.

• Wipe them with a soft dry cloth.

• Water or neutral dry cleanser is recommended if the dust cannot be removed.

Attention:

• Do not use gasoline, benzene, diluents, polishing powder, or liquid insecticide to clean them.

• Do not clean them with hot water of above 50°C to avoid fading or distortion.

To clean the filter of your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, first ensure the unit is switched off and disconnected from the power supply. Electric shock and injury may occur otherwise.

• Clean the air cleaner with a vacuum cleaner or water to remove dust. If there is too much dust, use the fan or directly spray the special cookware detergent on the air inlet grid, and then clean it with water after 10 minutes.

(A) Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner.

(B) For excessive dust, use a soft-hair brush and a mild detergent to clean.

(C) Allow the filter to dry fully before reinstalling.

Attention:

• Do not clean with hot water of over 50°C to avoid fading or distortion.

• Do not dry on the fire, as the cleaner might cause a fire.

If your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE fails to work, please recheck the following:

• Check if there is a power failure.

• Check if the manual power switch is turned off.

• Check if the supply fuse and breaker are disconnected.

• Check if the protective unit is working.

• Check if refrigerating and heating functions are selected simultaneously with the awaiting indication on the line control.

If you are experiencing bad cooling and heating effects with your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, please check the following:

• Check if the air intake and air outlet ports of the outdoor units are blocked.

• Check if the door and windows are open.

• Check if the filtering screen of the air cleaner is blocked with sludge or dust.

• Check if the setting of wind quantity is at low wind.

• Check if the setting of operation is at the Fan Operation state.

• Check if the temperature setting is proper.

Under the following circumstances, immediately stop the operation of your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, disconnect the manual supply switch, and contact the after-service personnel:

• When buttons are inflexibly actuated;

• When the fuse and the breaker have been burnt;

• When there are foreign objects and water in the refrigerant;

• When other abnormal conditions occur.

When the CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE fails to start due to room temperature, you can initiate a forced run. This function is not provided with a remote control.

• Set the wired controller to refrigerating/heating mode, press the “ON/OFF” button for 5 seconds to enter into the compulsive refrigerating/heating mode. Press the “ON/OFF” button again to quit the compulsive running and stop the operation of the air conditioner.

If a fault appears on your CARRIER 40VD054H-7S-QEE, you can consult the fault code on the line control or the flashing time for LED5 on the computer panel of the indoor unit. The table below explains the fault descriptions for indoor unit faults.
