To reduce the risk of injury in the event of a range top grease fire, observe the following:

1. SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. BE CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the flames do not go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

2. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN – You may be burned.

3. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels – a violent steam explosion will result.

4. Use an extinguisher ONLY if:

A. You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher and you already know how to operate it.

B. The fire is small and contained in the area where it started.

C. The fire department is being called.

D. You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

Each time a key is pressed, a beep will sound to acknowledge the command, and its backlight will turn ON. When a function is turned off, its backlight turns off.

Master ON/OFF: Press this key to turn on the light and fan at the last saved intensity. When the light and fan are on, pressing this key will memorize the current settings before shutting them off.

Fan: When the fan is OFF, a press turns it on to the last saved speed (or LOW speed if none was saved). Press the key again to cycle through the speeds: LOW, MEDIUM-LOW, MEDIUM-HIGH, HIGH, then OFF. A long press on the fan key when it’s ON will turn it OFF and save the current speed.

Lights: Press this key to turn the lights ON to the last saved intensity (or LOW if none was saved). Press again to cycle through the intensity levels: LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, then OFF. A long press when the lights are ON turns them OFF and saves the current intensity.

To disable the beep that sounds with each key press, ensure the fan and lights are OFF. Then, press and hold the Lights key for 5 seconds. To re-enable the beep, repeat the same procedure.

When you turn the fan OFF, if the fan key’s backlight flashes slowly for 30 seconds, it is time to clean the hood and filter. This reminder will occur every time the fan is turned off until the timer is reset.

To reset the timer after cleaning, ensure the fan is OFF. During the 30-second period when the backlight is flashing, press and hold the fan key until the flashing stops.

When the fan is OFF, press the Auto key to enable Auto mode. This function automatically starts or adjusts the fan speed based on the heat it detects from the cooktop. The fan will turn off automatically when there is no longer sufficient heat.

Manual Adjustment: While in Auto mode, you can manually change the fan speed with the fan key. This will pause Auto mode, and the Auto key backlight will turn off. The Auto function will re-engage automatically when the heat on the cooktop is sufficiently low.

To disable Auto mode completely, press and hold the Auto key until its backlight turns off.

• The Auto Mode sensor measures temperature related to cooking activity.

• Fan speed may increase when a hot pan is removed from the cooktop, as the sensor detects a temperature increase.

• The fan may turn OFF during very low-temperature cooking, especially with induction units.

• The fan might turn OFF temporarily when adding cold or frozen items to a pan and will turn back ON as the items heat up.

• The fan may start automatically when a hot oven door is opened or during an oven’s self-cleaning cycle.

• There may be a short delay in fan operation at the start of cooking while the pot or pan heats up.

• It is normal for the fan to remain ON for a short time after cooking is finished until the cooktop area cools down.

To connect your powerpack, you will need:

• A smart device (iOS or Android) with internet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth enabled.

• The smart device must be within 5 meters (16 ft.) of the powerpack.

• The powerpack must be within your home Wi-Fi signal range.

• Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.

• Ensure no other Bluetooth smart devices are nearby.

Activating Pairing Mode:

1. Ensure the fan and lights are OFF.

2. Press the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth key for 3 seconds. The key backlight will flash for 15 seconds, indicating it’s ready to be paired.

Connecting:

1. Download the Broan Kitchen app.

2. Follow the instructions within the app to complete the connection.

Turn Functionality OFF: Press the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth key for 3 seconds. Once the backlight flashes, press the Master ON/OFF key for 3 seconds. The function and backlight will turn off.

Turn Functionality ON: Press the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth key for 3 seconds.

Reset Connectivity: To remove saved devices and disconnect from the network, press the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth key for 3 seconds. Once the backlight starts flashing, press the key again for 10 seconds.

Your unit is equipped with a Heat Sentry™ thermostat. This device will turn on or speed up the blower if it senses excessive heat above the cooking surface.

1. If the blower is OFF, it turns the blower ON to HIGH speed.

2. If the blower is ON at a lower speed setting, it turns the blower up to HIGH speed.

When the temperature drops to normal, the blower will return to its original setting. When Heat Sentry is activated, the fan key backlight flashes slowly, and the fan speed cannot be changed.

WARNING: The Heat Sentry thermostat can start the blower even if the hood is turned OFF. It is impossible to turn the blower OFF with its key when this occurs. If you must stop the blower, set the main power switch (located behind the filter) to the OFF position if it is safe to do so.

This option allows you to change the blower output from the factory setting of 600 CFM to a maximum of 400 CFM or 300 CFM to meet certain building code requirements. This change CANNOT be reverted and can only be set within the first 5 minutes of applying power to the unit. The fan and lights must be OFF.

1. Switch power ON using the main power switch and immediately press and hold the Fan (A) and Lights (B) keys simultaneously for 5 seconds. The backlights for both keys will flash, indicating you have entered the CRT menu.

2. To select the desired airflow:

• For 400 CFM Maximum Airflow: Press the Fan (A) key for 5 seconds, then release. The Fan key backlight will flash. To confirm, press the Fan (A) key again for 5 seconds and release. The Fan key backlight will flash twice quickly, and a double beep will sound.

• For 300 CFM Maximum Airflow: Press the Lights (B) key for 5 seconds, then release. The Lights key backlight will flash. To confirm, press the Lights (B) key again for 5 seconds and release. The Lights key backlight will flash twice quickly, and a double beep will sound.

3. After the selection is confirmed, the user interface will return to normal operation. Locate the CRT sticker inside the hood and check the box for the CFM you selected.

Grease Filter:

The grease filter should be cleaned frequently. It is dishwasher safe. Use a warm dishwashing detergent solution. When using a dishwasher, use a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration of the filter may occur but will not affect performance. To minimize discoloration, hand wash the filter using a mild detergent.

Non-Ducted Recirculation Filter:

If used, this filter should be changed every 3 to 6 months. Replace it more often if your cooking style, such as frying or wok cooking, generates extra grease.

Do:

• Regularly wash with a clean cloth soaked with warm water and mild soap or liquid dish detergent.

• Always clean in the direction of the original polish lines.

• Always rinse well with clear water (2 or 3 times) after cleaning and wipe dry completely.

• You may also use a specialized household stainless steel cleaner.

Don’t:

• Use any steel or stainless steel wool or other scrapers to remove stubborn dirt.

• Use any harsh or abrasive cleansers.

• Allow dirt to accumulate.

• Let plaster dust or other construction residues reach the unit. Cover the unit during construction to prevent dust from sticking to the surface.

Avoid when choosing a detergent:

• Any cleaners containing bleach will attack stainless steel.

• Any products containing chloride, fluoride, iodide, or bromide will cause surfaces to deteriorate rapidly.

• Combustible cleaning products like acetone, alcohol, ether, benzol, etc., are highly explosive and should never be used near a range.
