The recommended system requirements are a computer with a Dual core HyperThreading processor or better, a graphic card with performance that matches or is better than the resolution of the camera, Windows 10 or later, and network access. Supported browsers include Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox. Alternatively, application software such as Video Security Client, Bosch Video Client, or BVMS can be used.

The unit must have a valid IP address and a compatible subnet mask. By default, DHCP is pre-set to On. If no DHCP server is found, a default address is assigned via link-local address.

1. Start the web browser.

2. Enter the IP address of the device as the URL.

3. During the initial installation, confirm any security questions that show.

If a RADIUS server is used for network access control (802.1x authentication), you must configure the device before it can communicate with the network. To configure the device, connect it directly to a computer using a network cable and set the service-level password.

The camera requires a strong password. The password must obey the following conditions:

– 8 to 19 characters in length

– Upper and lower case letters

– Minimum of 1 digit

– Minimum of 1 special character

Note that the following special characters are not allowed: ‘@’, ‘&’, ‘<', '>‘, ‘:’, ‘+’

After a connection is established, the Live page is displayed. To view a specific stream:

1. On the left side of the browser, expand the Connection group if necessary.

2. Click the Stream drop-down arrow to see the options.

3. Select the stream you wish to view.

To export recorded video, navigate to the Playback page and follow these steps:

1. On the left side of the browser, expand the Export group if necessary.

2. Select a track in the track list or in the search results.

3. The start and stop date and time are filled for the selected track. Change the times if necessary.

4. In the Time lapse drop-down box, select “Original” to export the recorded video as its original, or “Condensed” to export the recorded video condensed to the given output time.

5. In the Location drop-down box, select a target.

6. Click Export to save the video track.

To create a new user, access the Configuration page and navigate to General > User Management.

1. Click Add in the section below Authentication modes.

2. In the box User, enter a User name (minimum 5, maximum 31 characters).

3. Select the appropriate Group (authorization level: live, user, IVA configuration, or service).

4. Select the Type: either “Password” (enter a new password twice) or “Certificate” (for a certificate the user is authorized to use).

5. Click Set to confirm and create the new user.

Make sure that recording is stopped before syncing to the PC.

1. Go to Configuration > General > Date/Time.

2. Enter the current time or click the Sync to PC button to copy your computer’s system time to the camera.

3. Click Set to save.

Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Installer Menu.

Under Image rotation, select one of the following options:

– 0°

– 90° – upright (good for vertical scenes/hallways)

– 180°

– 270° – upright (good for vertical scenes/hallways)

Select the option that best suits the device mounting position. The end result is shown in the Live preview.

Go to Configuration > Camera > Installer Menu. Click the Defaults button to restore all settings, including passwords and network settings, to their defaults. Clicking this button also clears the service-level password. Operators must reset the password before doing anything else.

Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Display Stamping.

You can configure Global configuration settings or individual stamping options for Camera name, Logo, Time, and Alarm mode.

For Camera name stamping:

– Select the Position (Top, Bottom, Custom, or Off).

– Select Stamping size (Normal, Large, or Custom).

– Select Text color and Background color.

– Click Set to apply changes.

Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Positioning and scroll to Sketch.

1. Enter known values for tilt angle, roll angle, height, and focal length.

2. For unknown values, select the Calculate check box.

3. Use calibration elements on the camera image:

– Click the vertical line icon to place a vertical line across the image (perpendicular to ground, e.g., door frame).

– Click the line icon to place a line across the ground in the image (e.g., road marking).

– Click the angle icon to place an angle on the ground in the image (e.g., carpet corner).

4. Enter the real size of the line or angle in the corresponding box.

5. Adjust the position/length by dragging the lines or endpoints in the camera image.

The White balance options available in Configuration > Camera > Color are:

Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Privacy Masks.

1. Select the color of the mask (Auto, Black, Gray, White, or Custom color).

2. Select the mask number from the drop-down list.

3. Click the plus button.

4. Adjust the mask in the image by double-clicking edges to add/remove nodes and dragging nodes to position them.

5. Check the Enabled check box to activate the mask.

6. Click the Set button to apply changes.

To format the storage media (delete all data and recreate file structure):

1. Go to Configuration > Recording > Storage Management.

2. Click a storage medium in the Managed storage media list to select it.

3. Click Edit below the list.

4. Click Format in the new window.

5. Click OK to close the window.

To wipe the recordings (delete data without recreating file structure):

1. Click a storage medium in the Managed storage media list to select it.

2. Click Edit below the list.

3. Click Wipe in the new window.

4. Click Close to close the window.

Click Set to apply changes.

Navigate to Configuration > Alarm > Alarm Email.

1. Select On for “Send alarm e-mail”.

2. Enter the Mail server IP address.

3. Select the appropriate SMTP port.

4. Enter the SMTP user name and SMTP password.

5. Select the Format (Standard with JPEG or SMS).

6. Enter the Destination address and Sender address.

7. Click Send Now to test. Click Set to apply changes.

Navigate to Configuration > Service > Maintenance.

1. First, store the firmware file on your hard disk.

2. Enter the full path for the firmware file in the field or click Browse… to locate and select the file.

3. Click Upload to begin transferring the file to the device.

The device will reboot automatically when the upload is completed successfully. Do not interrupt the firmware installation.

Complete this sequence only if you have no other option to restore operation, as it deletes all camera settings. Remove the camera bubble to access the reset button.

1. Apply power to the camera.

2. Find the hardware reset button on the camera block.

3. Push and hold the reset button for more than 10 seconds. The red LED indicator will begin flashing.

4. Let the camera complete a self-check. When completed, the red LED will turn off.

5. Search again for the IP address, access the camera via browser, and set the initial password.
