The following table describes the button functions and LED indicator statuses for the BLUESKYSEA DV688.

To insert a Micro SD card:

1. Insert one micro SD card (Class 10, 16GB or larger) into the camera and push until it locks into place.

To remove a Micro SD card:

1. Press the end of the micro SD card until it clicks and releases from the slot, and then pull out the SD card.

To start recording:

The BLUESKYSEA DV688 will start recording automatically when the ignition is switched on. No extra operation is needed. Its blue LED indicator light flashes during video recording.

To stop recording:

1. The camera will stop recording automatically when the ignition is switched off.

2. To stop recording manually, short press the OK button.

You can take a photo in either Preview mode or Recording mode using one of two methods:

1. Short press the “Lock” button on the wired controller.

2. Short press the “Down” button on the DVR unit.

To manually lock the currently recording video clip, you can use one of these methods:

1. Long press the “lock” button on the wired controller.

2. Long press the “Down” button on the DVR unit.

Additionally, video clips will be locked automatically if the G-sensor is triggered by an impact. The sensitivity of the G-Sensor can be adjusted in the settings menu.

Playback on the DVR:

Short press the MODE button to enter Playback mode. Short press the UP or DOWN button to select a video or photo, and then press the OK button to play it back.

Playback on a PC:

1. Remove the Micro SD card from the BLUESKYSEA DV688 and connect it to a computer’s USB socket using a micro SD card reader.

2. Once connected, open a file browser and navigate to the SD card.

3. You will find a photo folder, as well as a “Video A”, “Video B”, and “SOS” video folder.

You can obtain information from the video file name. For example:

• “20170101_020339” indicates the Date/Time of the recording.
• “A” or “B” indicates whether it is a video file from camera A or camera B.
• “SOS” indicates the file was locked (e.g., via the manual lock button or G-sensor).
• “mp4” is the video file format.

The GPS module is an optional accessory that must be purchased separately. If you connect a GPS module, the GPS signal will be saved in the video file.

To connect the GPS unit to the DVR:

Locate the “Y” cable and connect the GPS antenna and the “power adapter” to the “Y” cable on the side that has 2 connections. Connect the end that has only 1 connection to the “power adapter” cable on the DVR. The GPS route will be displayed on Google maps when you play back the video in a compatible GPS Player.

Before installing the unit on your motorcycle, perform a quick test by following these steps:

1. Insert one memory card into the DVR host.

2. Connect cameras A & B to the DVR host.

3. Connect the Wired controller (Yellow connector) to the DVR host.

4. Use the included USB charger cable (Red connector) to connect the DVR to a power bank, your laptop’s USB socket, or a 5V USB phone charger.

5. The unit will power up and the display will show the output from both cameras. Check the orientation of the cameras to ease the installation process.

Connect the red wire to a 12V port controlled by the key ignition (ACC port). Connect the black wire to the motorcycle’s power ground (such as a metal knob) or the battery’s negative terminal.

It is recommended that the supplied power adapter be connected to an ignition-controlled power source (e.g., radio, lights) so the system starts up and shuts down with your bike. You can connect it directly to the battery, but you must remember to turn the unit off manually after riding to avoid draining the battery.

1. Identify Locations: Find appropriate locations to install the front and rear cameras, wired controller, DVR unit, and optional GPS antenna. It is recommended to mount the DVR unit under the seat for maximum security.

2. Plan Routing: Plan the routing of camera and power cables. Ensure that the cable routing will not interfere with the wheels, brakes, clutch, drive chain, or handlebars.

3. Mount Parts: Mount and connect the parts using the included mounting hardware (3M tape, screws, cable ties).

4. Connect Power: Connect the red wire of the power adapter to a switched 12V wire (ACC port) and the black wire to the battery negative terminal or a common ground.

Note: The mounting location of the DVR and camera cables should be away from high-voltage circuits like xenon lamps and spark plugs.

To adjust the camera angle:

1. Loosen the lens cap while watching the DVR monitor.

2. Rotate the lens body to adjust the horizontal view angle.

3. Once the view angle is set, tighten the lens cap. Be careful not to overtighten it.

If necessary, you can also loosen the clip on the camera mount using the L Shaped Hex Screwdriver to adjust the camera’s direction.

The BLUESKYSEA DV688 has various settings that can be configured through the menu:

• Video resolution: (1920x1080p) 30fps or (1080x720p) 30fps. Default is 1080x720p.
• Photographic resolution: 1M/2M/5M/8M. Default is 5MP.
• Loop video: 1/3/5/10 minutes. This setting cannot be switched off.
• Microphone volume: High/Middle/Low/Shutdown. Default is Low.
• Speaker volume: High/Middle/Low. Default is High.
• Language: English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Spain/etc. Default is English.
• EV value setting: -3/-2/-1/0/1/2/3. Default is 0.
• Light frequency: 50Hz/60Hz. Set according to your geographical region (e.g., US users should select 60Hz).
• Screen image (Mirror image): On/Off (only affects camera B). Default is Off.
• Screen switch on/off setup: 1/3/5/Shutdown. The screen will turn off automatically at the selected interval. “Shutdown” disables this feature. Default is 3 minutes.
• Delayed shutdown: 3 seconds/5 seconds/10 seconds. Determines how long the DVR stays on after ignition is off. Default is 3 seconds.
• Vibration lock sensitivity (G-sensor): Shutdown/Low/Middle/High. Automatically locks video recordings upon impact. Default is Middle.
• GPS function (optional): On/Off. Requires the optional GPS module. Default is Off.
• System exception alarm: On/Off. The DVR will “Beep” if a card or camera error is detected. Default is On.
• Power on video: On/Off. Recommended to be ON to start recording automatically with ignition. Default is On.
• Date/Time setup: Set the date and time in YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS format.
• Format memory card: Erases all files on the memory card, including locked files.
• Restore factory settings: Resets the device to its original manufacturer settings.
• Version: Displays the current firmware version.
