LED Indicator

1. Format the card either through the BLUESKYSEA B4K dash camera’s menu settings or on a Windows PC before first use.

2. Be aware that formatting will permanently erase all data on the card. For best performance, format the card periodically after backing up any important files.

3. If you are using a 128Gb or 256Gb micro SD card and format it on a Windows/Mac computer, you must format it again in the camera afterward.

1. Connect the SD card to your PC using a USB card reader.

2. Click [Start] → [My Computer].

3. Place the mouse pointer on the SD card drive (e.g., [Portable USB drive]), right-click it, and then click [Format].

4. Click the [Start] button to begin formatting.

Note: If the PC doesn’t recognize the SD card or formatting fails, try a different SD card. If the SD card contains other data, it may cause malfunctions, so please remove it before formatting.

The following recording times are for reference:

1. Looping recording segment icon: Shows the length of loop recording segments.

2. Audio Recording icon: Indicates if audio recording is enabled or disabled.

3. SD Card icon: Shows if the SD card is plugged in or unplugged.

4. Motion Detection icon: Appears when Motion Detection is active.

5. Time-lapse icon: Appears when Time-lapse recording is active.

6. Parking mode icon: Appears when Parking mode is active.

7. GPS icon: Indicates GPS signal status.

8. Recording status: Shows recording time.

9. Date/Time: Displays the current date and time.

10. Resolution: Displays the current video resolution setting.

11. Wi-Fi SSID and Password: Visible only when Wi-Fi is enabled.

12. Lock Clip icon: Appears when a video file is locked.

13. Menu icon: Indicates menu access.

14. Playback icon: Indicates playback mode access.

To enter Menu settings mode:

When in recording mode, press the Menu button to enter the Menu setting mode. Press the Power button to exit.

To switch Wi-Fi on/off:

While in recording mode, press and hold the Menu button for 5 seconds to switch the Wi-Fi on or off.

To enter Playback mode:

While in recording mode, press the Down button to enter footage Playback mode. Use the Up/Down buttons to select a file and the Power button to play it. Long press the Menu button to exit Playback mode.

Recording Mode (Wi-Fi disabled)

Menu Button: Click once to enter Menu settings mode.

Up Button: Click once to lock the current video clip. Long press to enable/disable audio recording.

Down Button: Click once to enter Playback Mode. Long press to take a photo.

Power Button: Click once to turn the screen on/off. If a rear camera is connected, it toggles the screen view. Long press to power the dashcam on/off.

Playback Mode

Menu Button: Click once to Delete the current video clip or confirm a menu selection. Long press to exit Playback mode.

Up Button: Menu up.

Down Button: Menu down.

Power Button: Click once to Play/Pause or go back to the previous menu. Long press to power on/off.

Menu Settings Mode

Menu Button: Menu confirmation.

Up Button: Menu UP.

Down Button: Menu Down.

Power Button: Click once to exit Menu settings mode. Long press to power on/off.

Recording Mode (Wi-Fi enabled)

Menu Button: Long press to switch Wi-Fi On/Off.

Up Button: No function (Na).

Down Button: No function (Na).

Power Button: Click once to turn the screen on/off. Long press to power on/off.

Power on/off:

1. The camera powers on automatically when the car’s ignition is switched on.

2. The camera powers off automatically when the ignition is switched off.

3. To power on/off manually, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

Start recording:

The camera starts recording automatically when the ignition is switched on. The Red LED indicator will blink while recording.

Stop recording:

The camera stops recording automatically when the ignition is switched off.

Take a photo:

In recording mode, long press the Down button to take a photo.

Lock a video clip:

1. Manually: In recording mode, click the Up button once to lock the current video clip.

2. Automatically: Video clips will be locked automatically when the G-sensor is triggered by an impact. The G-Sensor sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings.

Playback on the camera screen:

1. In recording mode, short press the “Down” button to enter Playback mode.

2. Short press the UP or DOWN button to select a video or photo.

3. Press the Power button to play the selected file.

4. Long press the Menu button to exit Playback mode.

Playback on a PC:

1. Remove the Micro SD card from the camera and connect it to a computer using a micro SD card reader.

2. Open a file browser and navigate to the SD card. You will find three folders:

MOVIE: Contains normal loop recording video files.

RO: Contains locked video files.

PHOTO: Contains video snapshot files.

The video file names provide information about the recording. For example:

20200722173535_000001A.TS

“20200722173535” indicates the date and time (YYYYMMDDHHMMSS).

“A” is for front camera video files.

“B” is for rear camera video files (if a rear camera is connected).

The “RO” folder contains any videos that have been locked.

The GPS module is built into the adhesive mount. When the module is receiving a GPS signal successfully, the GPS data is saved in the video file. To view your GPS route on Google maps, you need to play back the video using the dedicated GPS Player software.

1. First, download the “Ucam Dashcam” or “Ucam” app from the APP Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).

2. Turn on the Wi-Fi on the camera by either going into the menu or by long pressing the Menu button. The Wi-Fi SSID and password will appear on the camera’s LCD screen.

3. On your smartphone, go to your WLAN (Wi-Fi) settings, find the dash cam’s SSID, and enter the password to connect.

4. Once connected, open the Ucam app and click the “camera connection” icon to connect the dash cam to the app.

5. To disable the Wi-Fi function on the camera, long press the Down button. The Wi-Fi icon will be locked, and the camera will return to standard video recording mode automatically.

In the app’s Preview mode, you can:

Press the “video recording” button to start/stop video recording.

Press the “Camera” icon to capture a photo.

Press the menu button in the top right corner to enter the main menu setup. Here you can adjust resolution, sound recording, video partition (1/3/5 mins), G-sensor level, format the memory card, etc.

Press the “Video Folder” icon to playback videos and photos.

Press the “<” icon in the top left corner to go back to the dash camera connection interface.

3. Resolution Display: Shows the current resolution (default 4k).

4. Red Circle Icon: Recording Start/Stop.

5. Arrows Icon: Full screen display.

6. System Time: Displays system time.

8. Camera Icon: Take a photo (Photo snap).

If with rear camera plugging:

Exposure: Adjusts the EV (Exposure Value) from -2.0 to +2.0 to create better footage in different lighting conditions. Default is 0.0. Rear camera exposure can be adjusted separately after plugging it in.

Record Audio: Turn the microphone on/off. During a private conversation, you can long press the UP button to mute the audio.

Watermark: Imprint the Date Stamp, Speed Watermark, and/or GPS Watermark on the recorded video.

Speed Unit: Choose between Kilometer per hour (KM/H) and miles per hour (MPH).

Loop Recording: Set video clip length to off/ 1 / 3 / 5 / 10 minutes. The camera continuously erases the oldest video, but locked files are protected.

G-Sensor: Measures shock forces and automatically locks video upon impact. Settings from Low to High determine the force needed. Middle is recommended.

Parking mode: If an impact is detected by the G-sensor while the engine is off, the camera starts recording the event. This feature only works when the camera is equipped with a hardwire kit.

Timelapse Record: Records at a lower frame rate (1/5/10fps) to make time appear to move faster upon playback.

Motion Detection: The camera only records when it detects a moving object. Note: this will cause non-looping recording.

Fatigue driving reminder: Set reminders for Off / 1 hour / 2 hours / 3 hours.

Frequency: Set to 50HZ or 60HZ according to the power supply specification in your region (e.g., US users should select 60HZ).

Time Zone: Manually set the time zone for GPS time and date calibration. Default is GMT+8:00. Note that this must be manually adjusted for daylight savings.

Please use a high-speed class Micro SD card (C10 and above). SanDisk Ultra A1 or Samsung Evo Plus cards are suggested. Also, format the memory card using the camera’s screen menu, as a card error could be the cause.

Please ensure the loop recording function is set to ‘On’ in the menu. Also, check if the micro SD card has enough free space. If necessary, manually format the memory card by computer.

This error is often due to using a bad quality Micro SD card or internal damage to the card. Please format the TF card or replace it with a new, high-quality memory card.

Please check if the camera lens is clean. Clean the lens with a soft cloth.

Switch the frequency setting in the menu to “50Hz” or “60Hz” to match the standard local Flicker Frequency of your region.

1. VCC = Red wire = permanent live: This wire connects to a fuse with constant power to enable the parking monitor. When the car’s battery voltage changes (engine on/off), the camera will switch between normal and parking mode.

2. ACC = Yellow wire = switched live: This wire connects to a fuse that is only active when the car engine is on (like the car cigar lighter fuse). This tells the camera to turn on/off with the engine.

No, the parking mode does not work with a power bank. However, the camera will keep recording in normal mode until the power bank is drained.

For some Android phone models (like Google Pixel 2 and SAMSUNG), if mobile data (LTE) and Wi-Fi are enabled at the same time, the phone may automatically switch to mobile data because the camera’s Wi-Fi SSID does not provide internet access. This will break the Wi-Fi connection. Try the following solutions:

1. SAMSUNG users: Go to Settings → WLAN → Advanced, and switch off the “Automatic Data Switch” option, or simply switch off mobile data usage while connected to the camera.

2. If a proxy setting is applied to your Wi-Fi setting, the connection may fail. Tap the SSID of the camera, go to Advanced → Proxy Settings, select “none,” and save the connection.

3. Switch off then switch on the Wi-Fi option on your phone and try again.

4. Quit the app (also kill the background process of the app) and reopen it.

The typical lifespan for a memory card in a dash camera is about six months, and it can be subject to data corruption or loss from static electricity or external voltage. It is highly recommended to frequently copy important data to external media (like a hard drive or USB drive) and to format the memory card regularly to minimize memory card errors.
