The BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP is a vertical glass-door display cabinet intended for commercial use for cooling, displaying, and storing food and beverages. The manufacturer guarantees reliable operation of the appliance in an ambient temperature from +16°C to +32°C and at a relative humidity of up to 65 percent.

Please adhere to the following safety precautions when using your BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP:

WARNING: Do not cover the ventilation openings located on the top and sides of the cooler.

WARNING: Do not place electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

WARNING: Do not place multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.

WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.

WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

WARNING: Do not open the LED light cover. If the LED lighting is damaged and needs replacement, contact a service technician.

Do not use an appliance that is technically faulty.

This appliance is not designed to store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant. Storing gasoline or other flammable liquids in the appliance is forbidden.

Do not place operating electrical appliances such as microwaves, hairdryers, irons, or electric kettles on the appliance.

Do not place containers with liquids or flowers in vases on the appliance.

C-pentane, a flammable gas, is used as a blowing agent in the insulation foam.

In case of damage to the refrigerant circuit of your BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP, take the following steps immediately:

1. Do not use an open flame.

2. Do not use any sparking devices; do not switch on any electrical equipment or lighting.

3. Immediately ventilate the room where the appliance is located for several minutes. The room must have a volume of at least 4 m³ for appliances with isobutane/R600a refrigerant.

The BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP must be connected to a grounded socket. The socket should be in an accessible location. The frequency and power of your electrical supply must match the parameters on the appliance’s rating plate.

Do not use adapter plugs, multiple sockets (distributors), or two-wire extension cords.

To avoid hazards, a damaged power cord must be immediately replaced with a cord of the same type recommended by the manufacturer. This replacement should be carried out by the manufacturer, a service technician, or a similarly qualified person.

When positioning the cooler, be careful not to pinch the power cord. Do not place heavy objects on the power cord as this can cause damage, leading to a short circuit and fire.

Ensure that the power plug is not pressed against the rear wall of the cooler or damaged in any other way, as a damaged plug can be a fire hazard.

The BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP must be transported only in an upright position. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from non-compliance with transport conditions.

When positioning, moving, or lifting the appliance, do not grab the door handles, pull the condenser at the back, or touch the compressor unit.

Install the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221S BP according to the following guidelines:

1. Place the cooler in a dry and well-ventilated room.

2. CAUTION! Do not use the cooler in an unheated room or on a balcony.

3. Position the cooler away from heat sources such as stoves, heaters, and direct sunlight. It should not come into contact with heating, gas, or water installations, and should not be placed next to other electrical appliances.

4. Do not cover the ventilation opening at the top of the cooler. Ensure there is good air circulation around the appliance. Leave at least 10 cm of free space between the top of the cooler’s housing and any furniture above it.

5. If placing the appliance in a corner, leave a clearance of at least 1 cm between the housing and the walls.

6. The cooler must stand on a level surface. If necessary, adjust the height using the front feet. Turning the feet clockwise raises the front of the cooler, and turning them counter-clockwise lowers it. When the cooler is tilted slightly backward, the door will close automatically.

It is recommended to have a second person assist with preparing the appliance for use.

1. Remove all packaging materials. Remove the cooler from the styrofoam pallet.

2. After cutting the adhesive tapes, open the door. Then, remove the spacer located above the door.

3. After unpacking, check that the appliance is complete and inspect the housing and power cord for any damage.

4. Take the two brackets (1) from the bag and screw them with screws (2) into the marked holes on the back of the unit (as shown in diagram 3a).

5. Take the cover (1) from the bag and place it on the grid (2) located under the door (as shown in diagram 3b).

6. Remove the plug with the power cord from the water tray (8) located under the compressor. This is the transport position for the cord. When the appliance is operating, the power cord must not be in the water tray.

7. After positioning the appliance, wait approximately 30 minutes before connecting it to the power supply.

If the appliance was tilted by more than 30° during transport, you must leave it in an upright position for at least 4 hours before connecting it to the power supply. Failure to do so may result in damage to the compressor.

* When the door is opened, the fan turns off. In model ADN 203C BP, the fan turns on and runs continuously.

** Model ADN 203C BP does not have a thermometer.

The temperature inside the cooler is regulated using the thermostat knob (2). Turning the knob clockwise lowers the temperature. The value is indicated by numbers on the thermostat knob.

The temperature can be regulated to five positions:

0 = Compressor is off. CAUTION! The power is not disconnected.

1 = Highest temperature (minimum cooling)

5 = Lowest temperature (maximum cooling)

The temperature inside the cooler may change depending on the ambient temperature, the amount of food products, their temperature, and the frequency of door opening.

In a cold room, the cooler will chill to a lesser extent, which may cause the temperature inside to rise. In this case, set the thermostat knob to a lower temperature setting.

The cooler defrosts automatically. Frost that forms on the rear wall of the cooler chamber melts during the compressor’s off-cycles. The resulting water flows down a drain gutter into a collection tray and then evaporates. THE COOLER MUST BE CLEANED REGULARLY.

Before cleaning: Always remember to turn off the cooler and disconnect it from the power supply by removing the plug from the socket.

Cleaning Guidelines:

1. Protect internal surfaces and plastic parts from fats, acids, and sauces. In case of spills, wash the surface immediately with warm water and soap or dishwashing liquid, then wipe dry.

2. Clean the door seal regularly and wipe it dry.

3. REGULARLY CLEAN THE DRAIN HOLE for the defrost water using the special cleaning tool provided.

4. At least once a year, remove dust from the rear of the cabinet and the compressor. You can use a soft brush, an electrostatic cloth, or a vacuum cleaner.

5. Do NOT use cleaning agents containing abrasive materials, acids, alcohol, or benzene for cleaning the interior and exterior surfaces. Do NOT use scouring cloths or sponges with an abrasive layer.

6. CAUTION! The outer glass surface of the door should be cleaned with detergents intended for washing windows.

If the appliance is to be turned off for an extended period, LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN to prevent odors.

It is recommended that this operation is performed with a helper. You will need two open-end wrenches (No. 8 and No. 10) and a Phillips screwdriver.

WARNING! Before starting, switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the electrical socket.

During the process of reversing the door direction, the appliance MUST NOT be placed in a horizontal position.

To reverse the door, perform the steps in the sequence shown in figure 4 on page 4 of the manual.

If the cooler is connected to a power socket but does not work and the power indicator is not lit, first check if the electrical installation in your home is functional. Then, verify that the power cord is properly plugged into the socket.

If the appliance is operating too loudly, check the following:

1. Ensure the cooler is stable and standing on a level surface. Adjust the front feet to level the appliance if necessary.

2. Check if the cooler is touching furniture or if parts of the cooling system at the back of the cabinet are touching the wall. Move the cooler away from furniture or the wall.

3. Check if the noise is not caused by bottles, cans, or containers inside the cooler touching each other.

If water collects at the bottom of the cooler chamber:

Check if the defrost water drain outlet is clogged. Clean the drain outlet using the provided cleaning tool.

If water collects under the cooler:

The water collection tray may have slipped off the compressor. Place the tray back onto the compressor.

If the rubber sealing gasket comes off when you open the door, it is likely soiled with sticky food products such as grease or syrup. Clean the sealing gasket and its grooves with warm water and soap or dishwashing liquid, then wipe it dry. Reinsert the sealing gasket into its place.

If the temperature inside the cooler is too high and the compressor’s operating cycles are too short, check the following:

1. Ensure the door is properly closed.

2. Check if the door was not opened for longer than necessary when removing or placing products.

3. Check if a large number of warm food products were not placed in the cooler at once.

Condensation may form on the surface of the cooler if the relative humidity in the room exceeds 65 percent. Ventilate the room where the cooler is located and, if possible, eliminate the source of the high humidity.
