What are the intended use and operating conditions for the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
This instruction manual applies to a vertical glass door refrigerated display cabinet, designed for cooling, displaying, and storing food and beverages. The BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP is intended for commercial use.
The manufacturer guarantees reliable operation of the appliance in an ambient temperature from +16°C to +32°C and at a relative humidity of up to 65%.
What are the primary safety precautions for using the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
Please adhere to the following safety measures:
WARNING: Do not cover the ventilation openings on the top and sides of the cooler.
WARNING: Do not place electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
WARNING: Do not place portable multiple-outlet socket-strips or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
WARNING: When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. In case of damage:
– Do not use an open flame.
– Do not use sparking devices – do not switch on electrical equipment or lighting.
– Immediately ventilate the room.
– The room where the appliance is located must be ventilated for a few minutes. For appliances with isobutane/R600a, the room must have a volume of at least 4 m³.
The appliance is not designed for the storage of explosive substances, such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant. It is forbidden to store gasoline or other flammable liquids in the appliance.
The insulating foam contains C-pentane, which is a flammable gas.
How should I install the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
Follow these installation guidelines:
1. Place the cooler in a dry and airy room. The appliance works correctly at the ambient temperature specified on the product data sheet.
2. CAUTION! Do not use the cooler in an unheated room or on a balcony. Place it away from heat sources such as cookers, heaters, and direct sunlight. The cooler must not come into contact with heating, gas, or water supply systems, nor should it be placed next to electrical appliances.
3. Do not cover the ventilation opening at the top of the cooler. Ensure there is good air circulation around the appliance. A clearance of at least 10 cm must be left between the top of the cooler cabinet and any furniture above it.
4. If the appliance is placed in a corner, leave a gap of at least 1 cm between the cabinet and the walls. Refer to the diagrams for total required installation space.
5. The cooler must stand on a level surface. If necessary, adjust the height of the cooler using the feet: turning the feet clockwise raises the front of the cooler, while turning them counter-clockwise lowers it. When the cooler is tilted slightly backwards, the door will close automatically.
How do I prepare the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP for its first use?
It is recommended that two people prepare the appliance for operation.
1. Remove all packaging. Remove the cooler from the styrofoam pallet. Open the door by cutting the adhesive tapes. Then, remove the spacer located above the door.
2. When positioning, moving, or lifting the appliance, do not hold the door handles, pull the condenser at the rear, or touch the compressor unit.
3. Take the two brackets (1) out of the bag and screw them with screws (2) to the marked holes on the back of the appliance (see diagram 3a).
4. Take the cover (1) out of the bag and place it on the grid (2) located under the door (see diagram 3b).
5. Remove the plug with the power cord from the water tray (8) located above the compressor (this is the transport position of the cord). When the appliance is running, the power cord must not be in the water tray.
6. After positioning the appliance, wait about 30 minutes before connecting it to the mains.
7. If the appliance was tilted by more than 30° during transport, leave it in an upright position for at least 4 hours before connecting it to the mains to prevent damage to the compressor.
What are the main components of the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
The main components, as shown in the diagrams, are:
1. Fan switch: Controls the internal fan.
2. Thermostat knob: Regulates the internal temperature.
3. Light switch (ON/OFF): Controls the interior lighting.
4. Fan*: Circulates air inside the cooler. *The fan turns off when the door is opened. In model ADN 203C BP, the fan runs continuously.
5. Thermometer**: Displays the internal temperature. **Model ADN 203C BP does not have a thermometer.
6. Shelves: For placing products.
7. Internal lighting: Illuminates the interior.
8. Defrost water tray: Collects water from the automatic defrost process.
9. Promotional canopy: Located at the top of the appliance (for models ADN 221C BP, ADN 203C BP).
How do I regulate the temperature in my BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
The temperature inside the cooler is regulated by the thermostat knob (item 2). Turning the knob clockwise will lower the temperature. The temperature value is indicated by numbers on the thermostat knob.
The temperature can be set in five positions:
• 0 = compressor is off. CAUTION! The power is not disconnected.
• 1 = highest temperature (minimum cooling)
• 5 = lowest temperature (maximum cooling)
The temperature inside the cooler may change depending on the ambient temperature, the quantity of food products, their temperature, and the frequency of opening the door. In a cold room, the cooler cools to a lesser extent, which may cause the temperature in the cooler to rise. The thermostat knob should be set to a lower temperature in such conditions.
How should I defrost, clean, and maintain the BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
Defrosting
The cooler compartment defrosts automatically. Frost that forms on the rear wall of the cooler compartment melts during compressor breaks, and the resulting water flows down the drain gutter into the water tray and evaporates. The cooler should be cleaned regularly.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Remember to disconnect the appliance from the mains by removing the plug from the socket before cleaning.
• Protect the interior surfaces and plastic parts from fats, acids, and sauces. In case of spills, immediately wash the surface with warm water and soap or dishwashing liquid, then wipe dry.
• Clean the door gasket regularly and wipe it dry.
• Regularly clean the water drain hole using the special cleaning tool provided (see diagram).
• At least once a year, remove dust from the rear of the cabinet and the compressor using a soft brush, electrostatic cloth, or vacuum cleaner.
• Do not use cleaning agents containing abrasive materials, acids, alcohol, or benzene. Do not use cleaning cloths or sponges with a coarse surface.
• The outer glass surface of the door should be cleaned with detergents intended for washing glass.
• If the appliance is to be turned off for a longer period, leave the door open.
How can I reverse the door opening direction on my BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP?
It is recommended that this operation is performed with a helper. You will need two flat wrenches (No. 8 and No. 10) and a Phillips screwdriver.
During the door reversal process, the appliance must not be placed in a horizontal position.
Follow the steps in the sequence shown in diagram 4 of the manual.
WARNING! Switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the power socket before beginning.
What should I do if my BEKO PROFESSIONAL ADN 221-2 BP has a problem?
If the cooler plugged into the mains does not work and the voltage indicator is not lit:
Check that the electrical installation in your home is working. Check that the power cord is correctly plugged into the socket.
If the appliance is working too loudly:
Check that the cooler is stable and standing on a level surface. Adjust the front feet if necessary. Check that the cooler is not touching furniture or that parts of the cooling system at the rear are not touching the wall. Move the cooler away from furniture or the wall. Check that bottles, cans, or containers inside the cooler are not touching each other and causing noise.
If water collects at the bottom of the cooler chamber:
Check that the defrost water drain hole is not blocked. Clean the drain hole with the provided cleaner.
If water collects under the cooler:
The water collection tray has slipped off the compressor. Place the tray on the compressor.
If the rubber sealing gasket comes off when the cooler door is opened:
The gasket is soiled with sticky food products (grease, syrup). Clean the gasket and grooves with warm water and soap or dishwashing liquid, then wipe dry. Re-insert the gasket into place.
If the temperature in the cooler is too high and the compressor’s operating cycles are too short:
Check that the door is properly closed, that the door was not opened for longer than necessary when removing or inserting products, or that a large amount of warm food was not placed in the cooler.
If condensation forms on the surface of the cooler:
The relative humidity of the air in the room exceeds 65%. Ventilate the room where the cooler is located and, if possible, remove the cause of the humidity.
