What is the first safety step before installing the DOORKING 1603-221 LED traffic light kit?
Before beginning the installation, you must shut off the AC power to the operator. On certain models, you should also turn off the DC power switch.
How do I assemble the support post if my DOORKING 1603-221 kit includes one?
This procedure applies to kits that include a support post.
1. Route the wire through the support post.
2. Attach the traffic light assembly to the top of the support post.
3. Use two 2″ conduit nuts to secure the traffic light assembly to the support post.
4. At the bottom of the post, use a 2″ conduit nut to secure the 2″ elbow for the wire outlet.
How do I mount the support post assembly to the operator for the DOORKING 1603-221?
This procedure is for kits that include the support post assembly.
1. Drill a 7/8″ hole centered where the elbow touches the operator housing. This is approximately 18 inches down from the top of the operator.
2. Secure the 3/4″ conduit nipple in the drilled hole with the conduit nut.
3. Route the wire from the support post through the conduit nipple and into the operator housing.
4. Use the existing circuit board bracket bolts to mount the support post bracket onto the operator housing.
5. Attach the support post to the support post bracket using the two U-Bolt clamps with lockwashers and nuts.
6. Attach the Bracket Cover using the 5/8″ cover bracket bolts and lockwashers.
How do I wire the DOORKING 1603-221 LED traffic light to the operator’s circuit board?
1. Ensure all power to the operator is off.
2. Connect the wires from the Traffic Light Terminal to the circuit board as follows:
• The Red wire connects to the NC (Normally Closed) terminal.
• The Green wire connects to the NO (Normally Open) terminal.
• The White wire connects to the common negative (-) terminal, along with the white wire from the 12 VDC transformer.
3. Wire the 12 VDC transformer as follows:
• Connect the Black (+) wire (not supplied) to the C (Common) terminal for the traffic light relay.
• Connect the White (-) wire to the same terminal as the White wire from the traffic light.
Important: Keep all wires clear of any moving parts inside the operator housing.
