When using the BEAUTIFUL 19027, basic safety precautions should always be followed:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs only.

3. This Coffee Maker is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5. To minimize the risk of property damage, never place the Coffee Maker under cabinets. Make sure the area several feet above the Coffee Maker is clear from all furniture or cabinetry.

6. Do not open the Coffee Maker lid while coffee is brewing. Scalding may occur if the lid is lifted or removed during the brewing cycle.

7. Do not use outdoors.

8. Unplug the unit from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the unit to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.

9. To protect against fire or electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquids.

10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Contact Consumer Service. NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE UNIT YOURSELF. THIS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.

11. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.

12. Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

13. Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.

14. Do not use a cracked glass carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.

15. Only use the glass carafe with this appliance. Handle with care as the glass may become hot.

16. Snap the lid securely onto the glass carafe before serving coffee.

17. Never use your Coffee Maker without water in the water reservoir.

18. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

19. The carafe is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used on a range top.

20. Do not set a hot glass carafe on a wet or cold surface.

21. Do not clean the glass carafe with cleaners, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.

22. To interrupt the brewing cycle at any time, press the Brew/Off button. Unless the Coffee Maker is malfunctioning, do not remove the plug from the wall outlet. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet when the appliance is not in use, left unattended, or when the carafe is empty.

23. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.

24. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

25. To reduce the risk of fire, do not place the unit over or near any portion of a heating or cooking appliance.

26. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not mount over a sink.

27. To reduce the risk of fire, do not store anything directly on top of the appliance surface when the appliance is in operation.

WARNING: This Coffee Maker generates heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other injury to persons or damage to property.

1. All users of this Coffee Maker must read and understand this instruction manual before operating or cleaning this Coffee Maker.

2. The cord to this Coffee Maker should be plugged into a 3-prong 120V AC electrical outlet only.

3. Use water only in this Coffee Maker! Do not put any other liquids or food products in this Coffee Maker. Do not mix or add anything to the water placed in this Coffee Maker, except as instructed in the CLEAN section of this instruction manual to descale the Coffee Maker.

4. DO NOT attempt to move a Coffee Maker containing hot liquids. Allow the Coffee Maker to cool completely before moving.

5. Keep the Coffee Maker at least 4 inches away from walls or other objects during operation. Do not place any objects on top of the Coffee Maker while it is operating. Place the Coffee Maker on a surface that is resistant to heat.

6. If this Coffee Maker begins to malfunction during use, immediately press Brew/Off and unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning Coffee Maker. Call Consumer Service.

7. If this Coffee Maker falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water or any other liquid, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water! Do not use this Coffee Maker after it has fallen into or has become immersed in water.

CAUTION: Allow 15 minutes for the Coffee Maker to cool sufficiently before adding water to the water reservoir.

8. Always use fresh, cool water in your Coffee Maker. Warm water or other liquids, except as listed in the cleaning section, may cause damage to the Coffee Maker.

9. DO NOT put the carafe into a microwave oven.

10. DO NOT leave an empty carafe on the warming plate when the Coffee Maker is turned ON, as the carafe may crack or become otherwise damaged. Press Brew/Off to turn the Coffee Maker OFF.

11. This Coffee Maker is equipped with Pause & Serve. The flow valve is located on the bottom of the removable filter basket and is activated when the carafe is removed. This design makes it possible for you to remove the carafe and pour a cup of coffee before the entire carafe is brewed.

CAUTION: To prevent injury when utilizing the Pause & Serve feature, replace the carafe within 30 seconds of removing it during the brewing process.

The BEAUTIFUL 19027 has a grounded 3-conductor plug. This appliance is equipped with a grounded-type 3-wire cord (3-prong plug) that will only fit into an electrical outlet made for a 3-prong plug. This is a safety feature. If the plug fails to fit the outlet, contact an electrician to replace the outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

Notes on the cord:

a) A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.

2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.

3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

CAUTION: To prevent Plasticizers from migrating to the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur, or stains can appear.

If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. The BEAUTIFUL 19027 should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.

1. Do not use a cracked carafe having a loose or weakened handle.

2. This carafe is designed to be used only on the warming plate of this Coffee Maker. Do not use in a conventional oven.

3. To avoid breakage, handle the carafe with care. Avoid impact. Glass will break as a result of impact. Use care when filling with water to avoid hitting the faucet.

4. Do not place a hot carafe on a cool or wet surface. Allow to cool before washing or adding liquids.

5. Do not set an empty carafe on a hot heating surface. Do not clean with steel wool pads, abrasive cleanser, or any other materials that may scratch.

6. Do not bump, scratch, or boil dry.

7. Discard the carafe if it is cracked, scratched, or heated while empty for an extended period of time.

8. Your carafe has a specially sealed, drip-through, removable lid.

CAUTION: Always make sure the lid is aligned with the spout before pouring hot coffee.

The BEAUTIFUL 19027 Coffee Maker brews up to 14 (5-oz.) cups.

NOTE: A 5-oz. cup is the American industry standard. To fill your favorite over-sized mug, fill the Coffee Maker reservoir with enough water for 3 to 4 cups (15 to 20 ounces).

NOTE: The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the amount of water placed into the water reservoir; as much as 10% may be absorbed by coffee grounds and filter.

1. The reusable permanent filter basket is eco-friendly and eliminates the need for disposable paper filters.

2. The flat-bottomed permanent filter basket sits easily on any flat, clean surface for easy, mess-free filling.

3. After brewing, lift to open the Coffee Maker lid. Unfold the permanent filter basket handle to lift it up and out of the removable filter basket holder; discard used coffee grounds, rinse and replace.

4. Fold the handle down and close the Coffee Maker lid.

The screen only shows up when you need it. Here are the functions:

Brew/Off: When pressed, a tone will sound, the control panel will illuminate for 20 seconds. The BREW/OFF button will pulse slowly until pressed again to start brewing. Press at any time to begin brewing or turn the Coffee Maker OFF.

Program: Press and hold for 1.5 seconds to set FUTURE BREW TIME. Use the + and – buttons to adjust the time. Press PROGRAM again or wait 5 seconds to confirm. The PROGRAM button will stay lit to indicate it’s set.

– and + buttons: Press – to adjust the HOUR. Press + to adjust the MINUTES. Press and hold + or – to fast reverse or fast advance the time.

Select: Press to cycle through and set Strength, 1-4 cups, Clock, Clean, or Keep Warm.

Brew Strength: Press SELECT until STRENGTH illuminates. Press + or – to choose from 3 brew strengths: | Regular, || Gourmet, or ||| Bold.

1-4 Cup: IMPORTANT: This option must be programmed immediately before brewing. Press SELECT until 1-4 CUPS illuminates. This option automatically adjusts the brewing process for maximum flavor when brewing 1 to 4 (5 oz.) cups. Press BREW/OFF to begin brewing. Note: The entire water reservoir will brew.

Keep Warm: The default time is 4:00 hours, but it can be adjusted from 00:00 to 4:00 hours. Press SELECT until KEEP WARM illuminates. Press + or – to adjust the time.

Clean: If descaling is necessary, press SELECT until CLEAN illuminates. After every 300 brews, CLEAN will automatically flash.

1. Remove all packing material and labels from the inside and outside of the Coffee Maker. Place the unit on a flat, clean surface.

2. Before preparing coffee, thoroughly clean the glass carafe, carafe lid, removable filter basket, permanent filter basket and coffee scoop in hot, sudsy water. Rinse and dry. Replace disassembled parts. NOTE: The carafe, carafe lid, removable filter basket holder and permanent filter basket are all top-rack dishwasher safe. The coffee scoop should be placed in the dishwasher alongside the cutlery.

3. Clean the inside of the Coffee Maker by brewing 2 full carafes of tap water (see Brewing Coffee Instructions). Do not add the permanent filter basket or ground coffee for this initial cleaning.

4. Attach the charcoal filter into location on the base of the water reservoir.

1. Lift the Coffee Maker lid to view the stepped water level indicator. Make sure the charcoal filter is attached to the base of the water reservoir.

2. Fill the carafe with cold tap or distilled water and carefully pour it into the water reservoir. CAUTION: Never operate the Coffee Maker when the water reservoir is empty. IMPORTANT: Before brewing, always make sure the water level is past the 2-cup step. CAUTION: Never add water to exceed the 14-cup step.

3. Close the carafe lid and place the empty carafe into position on the warming plate.

4. Drop the removable filter basket into the housing.

5. Place the permanent filter basket on a flat, clean surface. Use the coffee scoop to add 1 scoop of ground coffee for every cup of coffee. Adjust to your personal preference.

6. Drop the coffee-filled permanent filter basket into the removable filter basket holder. Fold the permanent filter basket handle down.

7. Close the lid.

8. Plug the power cord into a 3-prong 120V AC electrical outlet. A tone will sound. The default time of 12:00 AM will begin to flash.

NOTE: To turn the beep sound off, press SELECT until the sound icon flashes, then press the – button. To turn the beep on, press SELECT until the icon flashes and press the + button.

NOTE: When the FILTER icon is illuminated, the charcoal filter needs to be replaced. To eliminate the icon, press SELECT until FILTER flashes, then press the – or + button.

1. To brew coffee immediately, press BREW/OFF. By default, Regular brew will illuminate.

2. When brewing is complete, 3 audible tones will sound. The Coffee Maker will display 0:00 as it advances to KEEP WARM. The time will begin to count up to 4:00 hours. IMPORTANT! Press BREW/OFF at any time to turn the Coffee Maker OFF.

3. At the end of KEEP WARM, 2 audible tones will sound as the Coffee Maker turns itself OFF. CAUTION: Always make sure the lid is aligned with the spout before pouring hot coffee.

4. To adjust the brew strength, press SELECT until STRENGTH illuminates. Press + to increase from Regular to Gourmet to Bold. Press – to decrease brew strength.

1. When the Coffee Maker is plugged in, a tone will sound. The default time: 12:00 AM will begin to flash.

2. The default time, 12:00 AM will be displayed.

3. Press – to adjust the HOUR.

4. Press + to adjust the MINUTES. NOTE: Pay attention to AM and PM setting. The Coffee Maker will advance to sleep mode within 20 seconds if no buttons are pressed.

5. To re-set the clock, press SELECT until CLOCK illuminates, then the time will flash. Use + or – to adjust the time.

1. The Coffee Maker can be programmed to begin brewing up to 24 hours in the future. WARNING: Make sure the Coffee Maker is set up to brew coffee. Fill the water reservoir, add fresh ground coffee to the permanent filter basket, and close the lid. Place the empty carafe with the lid in the center of the warming plate.

2. Press and hold the PROGRAM button for 1.5 seconds. The last programmed FUTURE BREW TIME will begin to flash.

3. Press – to adjust the HOUR.

4. Press + to adjust the MINUTES. NOTE: Pay attention to the AM and PM setting. Press the PROGRAM button or wait 5 seconds to confirm the time. Only the PROGRAM button will illuminate.

5. When the pre-programmed time is reached, brewing will begin.

6. At the end of the brew cycle, 3 audible tones will signal completion and the Coffee Maker will advance to KEEP WARM.

7. To start the brew time at the same time the next day, simply press the PROGRAM button, and the PROGRAM button will illuminate.

Pause & Serve allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the entire carafe is brewed. When you remove the carafe, the flow of coffee stops. When you return the carafe to the warming plate, dripping will resume.

CAUTION: Replace the carafe under the filter basket within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

• A clean Coffee Maker is essential for brewing great tasting coffee. Regular cleaning, as described in the CLEAN section, is highly recommended.

• Always use fresh, cold water in your Coffee Maker.

• Finer grinds, such as drip and ADC coffee, promote fuller extraction and provide rich, full-bodied coffee.

• For optimum taste, program your Coffee Maker to brew coffee to your preferred STRENGTH. Choose from Regular, Gourmet, or Bold.

• For optimum brewed coffee flavor, buy whole beans and grind just before brewing.

• Do not re-use coffee grounds since this will greatly impair coffee flavor.

• Reheating coffee is not recommended. Coffee is at its peak flavor immediately after brewing.

• Small oil droplets on the surface of brewed, black coffee is due to the extraction of oil from the coffee grounds. Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used. Overextraction may also cause oiliness, indicating a need to clean your Coffee Maker.

1. Always make sure the Coffee Maker is unplugged and the warming plate is cool before attempting to clean.

2. After every use, remove the permanent filter basket, discard used coffee grounds, and rinse thoroughly.

3. Wash the removable filter basket and glass carafe in hot, sudsy water. Pull the carafe lid out of the carafe and scrub with a soaped kitchen brush. The carafe, carafe lid, removable filter basket holder and the permanent filter basket are all top-rack dishwasher safe. The coffee scoop should be placed in the dishwasher alongside the cutlery. WARNING: To avoid breakage, handle the carafe with care. Avoid impact.

4. Wipe the Coffee Maker exterior with a damp cloth to remove superficial stains. For stubborn stains, use a nylon or plastic pad with a non-abrasive cleanser. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers.

5. Dry and replace disassembled parts. Make sure the removable filter basket drops down and is properly seated into the housing.

6. Close the lid.

IMPORTANT: To assure optimal flavor and performance, it is recommended that the CLEAN cycle be run every 300 uses. The word CLEAN will automatically flash on the display to alert you when it is necessary. The entire cleaning cycle will take 45 to 60 minutes to complete.

1. Minerals in water can detract from the flavor of the coffee. It is recommended that the CLEAN cycle be run when it flashes (after 300 uses). IMPORTANT: Always remove the permanent filter basket and removable filter basket before activating the CLEAN cycle. Also, remove the charcoal filter and filter holder from the water reservoir and set aside.

2. Combine 6 cups of white vinegar and 4 cups of cold water in the carafe.

3. Pour the vinegar solution into the water reservoir and close the Coffee Maker lid.

4. Place the empty carafe onto the warming plate.

5. Press SELECT until CLEAN illuminates. Press BREW/OFF. An audible tone will sound as the CLEAN cycle begins. CLEAN and remaining cleaning time will be illuminated on the display. Part of the mixture will pass through the brew cycle in a slow 5 minute sequence. The remaining mixture will be held in the Coffee Maker and then dispensed periodically for 45 minutes. IMPORTANT! Press BREW/OFF at any time to turn the Coffee Maker OFF.

6. At the end of the CLEAN cycle, 3 audible tones will sound, CLEAN will disappear from the display and the Coffee Maker will turn itself OFF automatically.

7. Discard the water in the carafe. Wash the carafe, removable filter basket and permanent filter basket in hot sudsy water.

8. Brew 2 or 3 carafes of fresh water through the Coffee Maker.

9. Dry parts thoroughly.

10. Replace the removable filter basket in the housing, then drop the clean permanent filter basket into place. Lower the lid.

11. Place the empty carafe in position on the warming plate.

1. Never store the Coffee Maker while it is still plugged in.

2. Unplug the Coffee Maker and allow it to cool.

3. Store the Coffee Maker fully assembled, with the permanent filter basket and removable filter basket in position. Place the carafe on the warming tray. Close the lid.

4. Use the cord storage area located on the bottom of the Coffee Maker to store the cord.

5. Store the Coffee Maker in its box or in a cool, dry place.
