7. WARNING: The speakers must be properly secured in the vehicle. Improper installation may lead to permanent injury or death. Installation of the speakers must be done with great care by qualified personnel, to prevent damage to fuel lines, power and other electrical wiring, hydraulic brake lines, and other systems that might compromise vehicle safety.

8. Use speaker wire of sufficient size to ensure adequate current to the speaker. For EPIC Series Speakers, this typically means 14-18 gauge speaker wire.

9. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required if the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as damaged input terminals, objects falling into the apparatus, abnormal operation, or if it has been dropped.

10. Exposure to high sound pressure levels may lead to permanent hearing loss. Take every precaution to protect your hearing.

The power handling of the AUDIOCONTROL EPICPRO6S is determined by the crossover points at which the driver is used. The speaker music power is rated at 100W MIN, 200W RMS, and 300W MAX. Please see below to determine the crossover points at which you will operate and the power handling capabilities:

1. Enhanced bass/midbass – 100 Hz HPF, 12 dB slope, 120 W RMS

2. Warm midbass, high volume – 150 Hz HPF, 12 dB slope, 150 W RMS

3. Powerful midrange, max volume – 200 Hz HPF, 12 dB slope, 200 W RMS

• First, determine where the speaker will be mounted. Next, make sure the area has a flat surface for the speaker to mount.

• Check the mounting depth of the desired location using the midrange mounting dimensions.

• If the speaker will be mounted in a door, roll the windows up/down and lock/unlock the doors, making sure there are no obstructions that the speaker will hit.

• Using the cut out template, mark the location for the speaker to be mounted.

• With the tool of your choice, cut out the marked hole.

• After the speaker has been wired, place the speaker into the hole. Use supplied mounting hardware to keep the speaker in place.

You can configure the wiring for your speakers to achieve different impedance levels for your system. Note that the large speaker terminal is positive (+) and the small speaker terminal is negative (-).

• Single Speaker (4Ω): Connect a single speaker directly to the amplifier channel for a 4Ω load.

• Two Speakers in Parallel (2Ω): Connect the positive terminals of both speakers together to the positive output of the amplifier. Connect the negative terminals of both speakers together to the negative output of the amplifier. This configuration results in a 2Ω load.

• Four Speakers in Series-Parallel (4Ω): Create two pairs of speakers. In each pair, wire the two speakers in series. Then, wire the two series pairs in parallel to the amplifier. This configuration results in a 4Ω load.

For a 2-speaker installation, you can connect two AUDIOCONTROL EPICPRO6S 4Ω speakers to a 4-channel amplifier in a bridged configuration. Channels 1+2 are wired in bridge mode to the first speaker, and channels 3+4 are wired in bridge mode to the second speaker.

For a 4-speaker installation, you can connect four AUDIOCONTROL EPICPRO6S 4Ω speakers to a 4-channel amplifier. Channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 are connected individually to each of the speakers.

For an 8-speaker installation, you can connect eight AUDIOCONTROL EPICPRO6S 4Ω speakers to a 4-channel amplifier. Channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 are each connected to a pair of speakers. Each pair of speakers is wired to deliver a 2Ω load to its respective amplifier channel.
