The top and front panel of your ASUS T500MV includes the following:

1. Power button: Press this button to turn on your computer.

2. Power LED: This LED indicates if the computer is on.

To install memory in your ASUS T500MV, follow these steps:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Unplug all cables from your computer.

3. Open your computer case.

4. Remove the thermal fan.

5. Locate an empty SO-DIMM socket.

6. Align the notch on the bottom edge of the memory module with the key of the SO-DIMM socket.

7. Insert the bottom edge of the module into the socket at an appropriate angle.

8. When the module is inserted, push it down until the retaining clips snap into place.

9. Install the thermal fan.

10. Close your computer case.

For system stability, follow the recommended memory configurations. Install DIMMs with the same capacity from the same manufacturer.

To install a graphics card in your ASUS T500MV, follow these steps:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Unplug all cables from your computer.

3. Open your computer case and locate the PCIEX16_1 slot if you are installing the first or the primary graphics card.

4. Align the notch on your graphics card with the key of the slot, and then insert the card into the slot.

5. The ejector will snap back into place automatically.

6. Use a screwdriver and a screw to lock the graphics card on the chassis.

Connecting an External Monitor:

2. In the “Which device did you plug in?” window, tick “Front Speaker Out”, then click OK.

3. If prompted again, tick “Line In”, then click OK. The audio output will now be from the external audio device.

To set up multiple monitors with your ASUS T500MV, follow these steps:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Connect the two monitors to the appropriate display output ports on your computer (either on the graphics card or the motherboard) and connect the power cords for the monitors.

You can enable or disable individual USB ports from the BIOS Setup.

1. Restart your computer and press the key during startup to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Navigate to Advanced > USB Configuration > USB Single Port Control.

4. Select the USB port you want to configure and press .

5. Choose to enable or disable the selected port.

6. Click Exit and select “Save Changes & Reset” to save your configuration.

To set a new password:

1. Enter the BIOS Setup by pressing during startup.

To change an existing password:

1. Follow steps 1-3 above to access the HDD Password screen.

2. Select “Set Master Password” and press .

3. In the “Enter Current Password” box, enter the current password and press .

4. In the “Create New Password” box, enter the new password and press .

5. Confirm the new password when prompted.

6. Go to “Exit” and select “Save Changes & Reset”.

To allow a USB keyboard or mouse to wake up your computer (on selected models):

1. Restart your computer and press to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Go to Advanced Power Management > ErP Support / ErP Ready, then select Disable or Enable (S5).

4. Go to Advanced Power Management > Power On By USB Keyboard/Mouse, then select Enable.

5. Click Exit and select “Save Changes & Reset” to save the changes.

First, connect an RJ-45 cable from the LAN port on your computer to your DSL/cable modem or local area network (LAN) port.

5. When done, click OK.

If your computer cannot be powered on and the front panel power LED does not light up, check the following:

• Check if your computer is properly connected to the power outlet.

• Check if the wall outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.

• Check if the Power Supply Unit switch (if available) is switched on.

If your computer hangs, do the following to close programs that are not responding:

1. Simultaneously press + + keys on the keyboard, then click Task Manager.

2. Select the program that is not responding, then click End Task.

If the keyboard is not responding, press and hold the Power button on your chassis until the computer shuts down. Then press the Power button to turn it on again.

If you are having trouble connecting to a wireless network on selected models with the ASUS WLAN Card, try these solutions:

• Ensure that you enter the correct network security key (password) for the wireless network you want to connect to.

• Connect the external antennas (optional) to the antenna connectors on the ASUS WLAN Card and place the antennas on the top of your computer chassis for the best wireless performance.

Check if the Number Lock LED is off. When the Number Lock LED is on, the keys on the number key pad are used to input numbers only. Press the Number Lock key to turn the LED off if you want to use the arrow keys on the number key pad.
