To power on the XEROX VESALINK B615, or to exit Low-Power mode or Sleep mode, press the Power/Wake button.

Note: The Power/Wake button is the only power button on the printer. The printer exits Low-Power mode or Sleep mode automatically when it receives data from a connected device. When in Low-Power mode or Sleep mode, the touch screen is powered off and unresponsive. To wake the printer manually, press the Power/Wake button.

At the XEROX VESALINK B615 control panel, press the Power/Wake button. Select an option:

• To restart the printer, touch Restart.
• To place the printer in Sleep Mode, touch Sleep. In Sleep Mode, the touch screen goes dark and the Power/Wake button flashes.
• To power off the printer, touch Power Off.

If the printer does not respond to a single press of the Power/Wake button, then press and hold the button for 5 seconds. A “Please Wait” message appears as the printer powers down. After 10 seconds, the touch screen goes dark and the Power/Wake button flashes until the printer powers down.

Logging in is the process by which you identify yourself to the printer for authentication. To log in:

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. Touch Log In.
3. Type the User Name using the keypad, then touch Enter.
4. If prompted, enter the password, then touch Enter.
5. Touch OK.

To connect the XEROX VESALINK B615 to a computer using a USB cable:

1. Connect the B end of a standard A/B USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 cable to the USB Port on the back of the printer.
2. Connect the A end of the USB cable to the USB port on the computer.
3. If the Windows Found New Hardware Wizard appears, press Cancel.
4. Install the print driver.

1. Ensure that the printer is powered off.
2. Attach a Category 5 or better Ethernet cable from the printer to the network or router socket. Use an Ethernet switch or router, and two or more Ethernet cables. Connect the computer to the switch or router with one cable, then connect the printer to the switch or router with the second cable. Connect to any port on the switch or router except the uplink port.
3. Attach the power cord, then plug in the printer and power it on.
4. Set the network IP printer address, or set up the printer for automatic printer IP detection.

The optional Wireless Network Adapter plugs in to the back of the printer.

1. Power off the printer.
2. To remove the Wireless Network Adapter Port Cover, press down on the latch, then pull the cover away from the printer.
3. Remove the packaging from the Wireless Network Adapter.
4. To install the Wireless Network Adapter, follow the procedure defined on the instruction sheet provided with the Wireless Network Adapter.
5. Power on the printer.
6. Configure the Wi-Fi settings from the front panel or the embedded web server if connected via ethernet.

To connect using the Push-Button Connection (PBC) method:

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. Touch Device > Connectivity > Wi-Fi.
3. If Wi-Fi is Off, turn it on. To toggle Wi-Fi from Off to On, touch the Wi-Fi toggle button. To activate changes, press Home, touch Restart Now, then navigate back to Wi-Fi settings after restart.
4. Touch Manual Setup.
5. Touch Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
6. Touch PBC.
7. Touch OK.
8. On the wireless router, press the WPS button.
9. To activate your Wi-Fi setting changes, restart the printer.

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. Touch Device > Connectivity > Wi-Fi.
3. If Wi-Fi is Off, turn it on.
4. To connect to a network, touch the name of the network, enter the password for the selected network, then touch OK.
5. If the desired network does not appear, touch Manual Setup, then configure the wireless network settings.
   • For Enter the Network Name (SSID), type the name (SSID) of your network, then press OK.
   • Touch Security, then select the security method that your wireless network uses.
   • Touch Enter Password, then enter the password for your wireless network.
   • Touch OK.
6. To activate your Wi-Fi setting changes, press the Home button and touch Restart Now at the prompt.

1. Open the Bypass Tray. If the Bypass Tray is loaded with paper already, remove any paper that is a different size or type.
2. For larger paper sizes, pull out, then open the Bypass Tray extension.
3. Move the width guides to the edges of the tray.
4. Flex the sheets back and forth and fan them, then align the edges of the stack on a level surface.
5. Load the paper in the tray. Note: Do not load paper above the maximum fill line on the width guides.
6. Adjust the width guides until they touch the edges of the paper.
7. The printer prompts you to verify the paper type, size, and color.
   • If correct, touch OK.
   • If incorrect, change the settings by touching the current paper type, size, or color, and selecting the correct option from the list. Then touch OK.

1. To remove the tray from the printer, pull out the tray until it stops. Lift the front of the tray slightly and then pull out the tray completely.
2. Adjust the paper length and width guides.
3. For Legal-size paper, to extend the front of the tray, press the green release latch, then pull the tray out.
4. Flex the sheets back and forth and fan them, then align the edges of the stack on a level surface.
5. Load paper into the tray with the print-side face up.
   • Load hole-punched paper with the holes to the left.
   • Load label-sheets in the tray face up.
   • For 1-sided printing, load letterhead paper face up with the top of the paper toward the back of the tray.
   • For 2-sided printing, load letterhead and pre-printed paper face down with the top edge feeding into the printer.
6. Adjust the length and width guides to fit the paper.
7. Insert the tray into the printer.
8. If the Tray Mode is set to Fully Adjustable, the printer prompts you to set the paper type, size, and color. Confirm or change the settings as needed and touch OK.

1. Open the Bypass Tray.
2. For larger paper sizes, pull out, then open the Bypass Tray extension.
3. Move the width guides to the edges of the tray.
4. To load the envelopes:
   • Number 10 envelopes: Load with the short edge going into the printer, flaps down, and flaps to the right.
   • Monarch or DL envelopes: Load with the short edge going into the printer, flaps down, and flaps to the right. Or load print-side up, flaps open/closed down, bottom/flaps going into the printer (depending on wrinkle issues).
   • C5 envelopes: Load with print-side up, flaps open/closed down, bottom/short edge going into the printer.
5. Adjust the width guides until they touch the edges of the envelopes.
6. Verify or change the paper settings on the prompt and touch OK.

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. To clear previous App settings, touch Reset.
3. Load your original documents:
   • Use the document glass for single pages or paper that cannot be fed using the automatic feeder. Place face down in the upper-left corner.
   • Use the single-pass duplex automatic document feeder for single, multiple, or 2-sided pages. Remove staples/clips. Insert face up, top edge entering first. Adjust guides.
4. Touch Copy, then enter the number of copies needed.
5. If scanning from 2-sided original documents, touch 2-Sided, then select an option.
6. Adjust copy settings as needed.
7. Touch Start.

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. Load your original documents on the document glass or in the automatic document feeder.
3. Touch Email.
4. Enter recipients:
   • To enter manually, type the address using the keypad and touch Enter.
   • To select from the Address Book, touch the Address Book icon, then touch Favorites or Contacts.
5. If scanning from 2-sided documents, touch 2-Sided Scanning, then select an option.
6. Adjust email settings (Attachment name, File format, Subject, Message) as needed.
7. Touch Send.

Note: Only USB Flash drives formatted to the typical FAT32 file system are supported.

1. Load the original document on the document glass or in the duplex automatic document feeder.
2. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
3. Insert your USB Flash drive into the USB memory port on the front of the printer.
4. At the “USB Drive has been detected” screen, touch Scan to USB.
5. To save the file to a specific folder, navigate to the directory and touch OK.
6. To save as a specific file name or format, touch the attachment file name or format and adjust.
7. To begin the scan, press Scan.

1. At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
2. Load your original documents on the document glass or in the duplex automatic document feeder.
3. Touch Fax.
4. Enter recipients:
   • To enter a recipient fax number, use the touch screen keypad, then touch Enter.
   • To select a contact, touch the Address Book icon.
5. If scanning from 2-sided original documents, touch 2-Sided Scanning, then select an option.
6. Adjust fax settings as needed.
7. Touch Send.

1. Remove any paper from the Document Feeder Tray and the Document Output Tray.
2. Open the Document Cover.
3. Slightly dampen a soft, lint-free cloth with water.
4. Clean the document glass.
5. Clean the CVT glass (the narrow strip of glass).
6. Wipe the white underside of the document cover until it is clean and dry.
7. To access the second-side scanning lens assembly, lower the Second-Side Scanning Access Cover.
8. Using a soft cloth moistened with water, wipe the mirrored glass, the white-plastic strip, and the rollers. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
9. Close the Second-Side Scanning Access Cover and the Document Cover.

1. Open the Front Door of the printer.
2. Remove the Toner Cartridge by gripping both its handles and pulling straight out.
3. Remove the Drum Cartridge by gripping the orange handle and pulling straight out. Caution: Do not expose the drum cartridge to direct sunlight or touch the green surface.
4. Remove the cleaning tool from inside the Front Door.
5. To remove any debris or toner dust, set the cleaning tool on the LED Lens Block. Slide the cleaning tool until it stops at one end of the LED Lens Block. Then slide the cleaning tool in the other direction until it stops at the opposite end. Repeat this motion two more times.
6. Replace the cleaning tool into its storage location inside the Front Door.
7. Slide the Drum Cartridge into the printer until it stops.
8. Slide the Toner Cartridge into the printer until it stops.
9. Close the Front Door.

A message appears on the control panel when a toner cartridge must be replaced.

1. Open the Front Door of the printer.
2. Remove the Toner Cartridge by gripping both its handles and pulling straight out.
3. Unpack the new toner cartridge and follow any installation instructions included with the consumable.
4. Insert the new Toner Cartridge into the printer and push until it clicks or stops.
5. Close the Front Door.

1. Open the Top Cover and remove any paper.
2. If paper is jammed in the Single-Pass Duplex Automatic Document Feeder, open the Document Cover.
3. To access the jammed paper, open the Second-Side Scanning Access Cover, then remove any jammed paper.
4. Close the Second-Side Scanning Access Cover.
5. Close the Document Cover, then reload the document.

1. Remove any paper from the Bypass Tray.
2. Grasp both sides of the Bypass Tray, then pull it straight out of the printer.
3. Remove Tray 1 from the printer.
4. Remove the jammed paper.
5. Insert Tray 1 into the printer, then push it all the way in.
6. Insert the Bypass Tray completely into the printer.
7. Confirm or change the paper settings if prompted.

WARNING: Never touch a labeled area on or near the heat roller in the fuser. You can get burned.

1. Lift the rear door release and pull open the door.
2. To open the paper guide on the top of the fuser, lift the paper guide tab.
3. Remove any jammed paper from the back of the printer.
4. Close the paper guide on the fuser.
5. Close the rear door.

• Check if the power switch is turned on by pressing the Power/Wake button.
• Ensure the power cord is plugged into the outlet correctly. Power off, plug securely, and try again.
• Perform a full reset: Power off, unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in securely, then press the Power/Wake button.
• Check the outlet by plugging in another electrical appliance.
• Ensure the outlet provides the correct voltage and frequency.

• Check the toner level. If the toner cartridge is near empty, replace it.
• Verify the toner cartridge is approved for use (genuine Xerox).
• Replace the paper with a recommended size and type.
• Verify the paper is dry.
• Change the Paper Type settings in the print driver (e.g., select Other Type setting).
