To prevent your VIZIO D65-E0 from being damaged, observe the following instructions for installation, use, and maintenance.

Installation and Environment:

• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. A distance of at least three feet should be maintained between your TV and any heat source.

• Do not install your TV close to smoke or in an area with heavy dust or high humidity, as this may cause fire or electric shock.

• Do not place your TV in a bookcase or cabinet unless proper ventilation is provided.

• When moving your TV from a low-temperature area to a high-temperature area, condensation may form. Wait before turning on your TV to avoid causing fire, electric shock, or component damage.

• Install the TV where it cannot be pulled, pushed, or knocked over. Do not allow children to hang onto the product.

• Never place the television set in an unstable location. A television set may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. Use cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer, use furniture that can safely support the TV, and ensure the TV is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.

Power and Connections:

• To reduce the risk of electric shock, switch off the power before connecting other components.

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs and convenience receptacles.

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time to protect it from power surges.

• To totally disconnect power, unplug the power cord. The wall socket should be installed near your TV and be easily accessible.

• Do not touch the power cord during a lightning storm to avoid electric shock.

• Do not overload power strips and extension cords.

Operation and Maintenance:

• Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Never push any object into the slots and openings on your TV cabinet or place objects on top of the TV. Never spill liquids on your TV.

• Do not apply pressure or throw objects at your TV. This may compromise the integrity of the TV.

• Do not attempt to repair or service your TV yourself. Opening or removing the back cover may expose you to high voltages and other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

• If any abnormality occurs, such as smoke or an odor, unplug the power cord and contact your dealer immediately.

• When unplugging your TV, hold the AC/DC power adapter, not the cord.

• WARNING: Exposure to loud sounds can damage your hearing, causing hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears).

• Store accessories (remote, batteries, etc.) in a location safely out of the reach of children.

If an outside antenna/satellite dish or cable system is to be connected to the VIZIO D65-E0, make sure that the antenna or cable system is electrically grounded to provide some protection against voltage surges and static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPSA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding.

Lightning Protection: For added protection of the TV during a lightning storm or when it is left unattended or unused for long periods of time, unplug the TV from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.

Power Lines: Do not locate the antenna near overhead light or power circuits, or where it could fall into such power lines or circuits. Remember, the screen of the coaxial cable is intended to be connected to earth in the building installation.

POWER: Turn TV on or off.

INPUT: Change the currently-displayed input.

APP LAUNCHER: Quickly launch the pictured App. (Also turns the TV on if it is off.)

A/V CONTROLS: Control USB media player and some apps.

MENU: Display the on-screen menu.

INFO: Display the info window.

ARROW (Up/Down/Left/Right): Navigate the on-screen menu.

OK: Select the highlighted menu option.

GUIDE: Display the info window.

BACK: Go to the previous on-screen menu.

V BUTTON: Open the VIA dock.

EXIT: Close the on-screen menu.

CLOSED CAPTIONS (CC): Open the closed caption menu. For video description, hold the key for 10 seconds.

VOLUME UP/DOWN: Increase or decrease loudness of the audio.

CHANNEL UP/DOWN: Change the channel.

MUTE: Turn the audio off or on.

LAST: Return to the channel last viewed.

WIDE: Change the display mode. For Zoom Mode, hold the key for 10 seconds.

PIC: Opens the picture mode menu. For Text to Speech, hold the key for 10 seconds.

NUMBER PAD (0-9): Manually enter a channel.

DASH (-): Use with the number pad to manually enter a digital sub-channel (for example, 18-4).

ENTER: Confirm channel or passcode entered using the number pad.

Two AAA batteries are included for you to use with the basic remote control. To insert or replace them:

1. Remove the battery cover by pressing gently on the logo and sliding it away from the remote. Insert the two included AAA batteries.

2. Be sure to align the + and – signs on the batteries with the signs inside the remote. Gently slide the battery cover back into place.

When needed, VIZIO recommends replacing the batteries with two new Duracell ‘AAA’ alkaline batteries.

WARNING: Keep the remote control batteries away from children. It may cause choking and/or lead to a fire or chemical burn if mishandled. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Replace only with batteries of the correct type.

It is recommended that two people take part in the stand installation.

1. Remove any plastic film from the TV and stands. Place the TV screen-down on a clean, flat surface. To prevent scratches or damage to the screen, place the TV on a soft surface such as a carpet, rug, or blanket, and avoid any sharp edges. Make sure the top and bottom edges of the screen are supported by the surface to avoid damage.

2. Insert the stands into the base of the TV. The stands are identical.

3. Secure each stand to the TV with two (2) Phillips screws (included). Insert the screws into the back of the TV and tighten them using a Phillips screwdriver.

4. When you are finished, place the TV on a stable, level surface.

Step 1: Connect Your Devices

Connect all of your devices to the TV first. Choose one connection type for each device (e.g., HDMI, Component, etc.).

Step 2: Connect the Power Cable

Connect one end of the power cable to the back of the TV. The flat edge of the connector faces the outer edge of the TV. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.

Step 3: Connect to the Internet (Optional but Recommended)

If you have a high-speed Internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or router to the back of your TV. For the best Smart TV experience, a wired connection is recommended. Your TV also has built-in Wi-Fi if you prefer a wireless connection.

Step 4: Complete the On-Screen Setup

Turn the TV on by pressing the POWER button on the remote. The Guided Setup will be displayed.

• Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to select Home Use and press OK.

• Use the Arrow buttons to select your preferred language and press OK.

• Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the first-time setup.

Your VIZIO D65-E0 supports several connection types for common devices like cable/satellite receivers, Blu-Ray players, gaming consoles, and PCs.

Note: A TV tuner and antenna are required for over-the-air TV (sold separately).

1. Press the MENU button on the Remote Control to display the TV SETTINGS menu.

2. Use the arrow buttons to highlight User Manual and press OK.

3. Once in the manual, use the Up and Down Arrow buttons to select the chapter you want to view.

4. Use the Left and Right Arrow buttons to browse through the pages in each chapter.

5. Press the EXIT button to exit the on-screen User Manual.

6. Press the BACK button to return to the Table of Contents page.

To access the Accessibility menu:

1. Press the Menu button on the remote control.

2. Use the Arrow and OK buttons to navigate and select System → Accessibility.

From here, you can adjust the following settings:

• Talk Back: Turn Text-to-Speech Talk Back On or Off. This feature enables your TV to speak all settings changes and adjustments using the remote in English.

• Speech Rate: Adjusts the rate at which Text-to-Speech is spoken. Select Slow, Normal (Default), or Fast. (Only available when Talkback is turned On).

• Zoom Mode: Enlarges a section of the screen by 200%.

To access the Closed Caption menu:

• Press the Menu button on the remote control.

• Use the Arrow and OK buttons to navigate and select Closed Captions. (Input must be set to tuner for Closed Caption to appear in settings menu).

If you did not set up a wireless connection during the first-time setup, follow these steps. For streaming video, your Internet connection speed should be 1.5 Mbps or higher.

You will need:

• Wireless Router

• High-speed Internet connection

• SSID (Wireless network name)

• Network Password

Connection Steps:

1. Press the MENU button on the remote.

2. Highlight Network and press OK. The Network Setup guide is displayed.

3. Highlight the name of your wireless network (this is the network’s SSID) from the list of Wireless Access Points and press OK.

4. If you do not see your SSID, you may need to enter it manually by selecting Hidden Network.

5. Using the on-screen keyboard, enter your network’s password, then highlight Connect and press OK.

Troubleshooting Tips for Router Placement:

• Walls and large metal objects can block the signal.

• Other devices broadcasting at 2.4 or 5 GHz can interfere with the signal.

• For a better signal, ensure there are no walls or furniture blocking the signal path and place the router close to the TV.

VIZIO Internet Apps Plus® (V.I.A. Plus) delivers popular online content to your TV. A high-speed internet connection is required.

Using the V.I.A. Plus App Dock:

1. Press the V Button on the remote to display the V.I.A. Plus App Dock at the bottom of the screen.

2. Press the Left/Right Arrow buttons to scroll through the Apps on the dock. The highlighted App is in the center of the dock.

3. Press the OK button to launch the highlighted App.

Using the Fullscreen V.I.A. Plus Apps Window:

1. Press the V Button twice to launch the fullscreen V.I.A. Plus Apps window.

2. This window allows you to add and store apps. The apps on the first page are displayed in the Dock. Apps on additional pages can be moved to the Dock.

• My Apps: This tab features the apps installed on your TV.

• App Tabs (Featured, Latest, All Apps, Categories): Browse through apps on these tabs and add them to your My Apps tab. You can also open an app directly from the app store.

Your VIZIO D65-E0 can output sound to an audio device, such as a receiver or sound bar.

Steps to Connect:

1. Verify that your audio device has a port that matches an available audio output port on the TV (e.g., HDMI (ARC), Digital Optical, RCA).

2. Turn the TV and your audio device off.

3. Connect the appropriate cable (not included) to the TV and the device.

4. Turn the TV and your device on.

Connection Types:

• HDMI CABLE (using the ARC port): Provides 2.0 – 5.1 Digital Audio (PCM, DTS, DOLBY AUDIO™) and supports CEC 2-way communication.

• DIGITAL OPTICAL CABLE: Provides 2.0 – 5.1 Digital Audio (PCM, DTS, DOLBY AUDIO™).

• RCA CABLE: Provides Analog Stereo Connection (2.0 Channel).

To reset the TV to factory defaults, press MENU > System > Reset & Admin > Reset TV to Factory Defaults. If you have changed the default Parental Control Passcode, you will need to enter it. Select Reset. Remember that all of your settings will be lost.

If you have a picture but no sound, try the following steps:

• Press the VOLUME UP button on the remote.

• Press the MUTE button on the remote to ensure that mute is off.

• Press MENU > Audio. Be sure TV Speakers is set to On.

If your TV displays “No Signal,” follow these steps:

• Be sure your connected devices are turned on.

• Press the INPUT button on the remote and select the input to which your device is connected (e.g., HDMI-1, HDMI-2, COMP, etc.).

• Note that some television channels add black bars to the picture as part of the broadcast.

• Set the TV to Wide or Zoom mode. Press the WIDE button, highlight Wide or Zoom, and press OK.

• Adjust the video settings of your external device.

If there is no power to your TV, try these steps:

• Be sure the power cord is securely connected to the AC socket on the TV and to a working electrical outlet.

• Press the POWER button on the remote or on the side of the TV.

• If the above steps do not work, try plugging the power cord into a different outlet.

• Be sure your TV is connected to the Internet.

• Restart the App by pressing the EXIT button to close the App, then open the App again.

• Reboot your TV by pressing the POWER button on the remote to turn it off, then turn it back on.

• If you are using an Ethernet cable, ensure it is securely connected to your router/modem and the TV.

• If you are connecting wirelessly, try repositioning your router for the best connection.

• Turn off all devices. Restart your router/modem.

• Try to use another internet-connected device. If it is not working, call your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

• Make sure the batteries are properly inserted, matching the – and + symbols.

• Replace the batteries with fresh ones.

Magnetic Fields:

Caution: Avoid exposing a drive to magnetic fields. Security devices with magnetic fields may include airport walk-through devices and security wands. Airport conveyor belts or similar security devices that check carry-on luggage generally use X-rays and should not cause magnetic damage to drives.

International Travel:

If you are traveling internationally, check the customs regulations for device use for each country you will visit. Also, check the power cord and adapter requirements for each location in which you plan to use the device as voltage, frequency, and plug configurations may vary.

Caution: Battery cells may explode. Do not dispose of the battery in a fire or with ordinary household waste. Dispose of batteries promptly. Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent type of battery recommended by VIZIO.
