Follow these steps for proper installation of your TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540:

Note: If the unit has not been stored or moved in an upright position, let it stand upright for approximately 12 hours before operation. If in doubt, allow it to stand.

1. Remove the appliance from its packaging. Ensure all protective plastic film and coatings are thoroughly removed from all surfaces.

2. Maintain a distance of 20cm (7 inches) between the unit and walls or other objects for ventilation. If the obstacle is a heat source, increase this distance.

Note: Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the interior with soapy water.

3. Set the brakes on the castors to keep the appliance in position, OR level the appliance by adjusting the screw feet.

The left/right handle and the fixing screw for your TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540 are packed inside the compartment. To install, simply take them out and screw the side handles into place before use.

A lock is fitted to the doors of the TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540 to ensure foodstuffs are kept secure. Use the keys provided to lock or unlock the doors.

To get the best results from your TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540, follow these instructions for storing food:

• Only store foodstuffs in the appliance when it has reached the correct operating temperature.

• Do not place uncovered hot food or liquid inside the appliance.

• Wrap or cover food where possible.

1. Ensure the power switch is set to [O] and turn on the power at the socket.

Lock/Unlock the Keyboard:

To unlock or lock the keyboard, press the UP and DOWN arrow buttons together for 3 seconds. The display will flash PON (unlocked) or POF (locked).

Set the Operating Temperature:

1. Press the SET button. The display will flash.

2. Press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to display the required temperature.

3. Press the SET button again to store the new temperature.

Manual Defrost:

Press and hold the defrost button, marked “aux”, for 2 seconds to begin a manual defrost. The defrost light will illuminate.

For proper cleaning and maintenance of your TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540, follow these guidelines:

• Defrost the appliance at least every 3 months, or more often if required.

• Always switch off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.

• Clean the interior of the appliance as often as possible.

• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, as they can leave harmful residues.

• Clean the door seal with water only.

If your TRUFROST & BUTLER CHC 540 is not working, check the following possible causes and solutions:

• The unit is not switched on: Check that the unit is plugged in correctly and switched on.

• Plug and lead are damaged: Call an agent or qualified Technician.

• Fuse in the plug has blown: Replace the fuse.
