Please observe the following safety instructions when using your TOSHIBA GR-RT735WE-PMX refrigerator:

Appliance Usage:

• This appliance is not for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

Ventilation and Defrosting:

• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

Refrigerant Circuit:

• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerant circuit is damaged, do not use any electrical appliances or fire equipment nearby. Open all windows for ventilation and contact your local maintenance agent.

General Usage:

• Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

• Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance. Chemicals like ether, benzene, alcohol, thinner, adhesive, spray, or LP gas may explode.

• Do not sprinkle water on the body or inside of the refrigerator, as this may weaken electrical insulation and lead to fire or electric shock.

• Do not disassemble or attempt to service the unit. Refer to qualified service personnel for any service not described in the operating instructions.

• Do not hang on or stand on the door. The refrigerator may overturn, or the door may come off its hinges.

• Do not place heavy objects or liquid containers on the refrigerator.

• Do not eat any food which has changed color or gives out a strange odor.

Disposal:

• When disposing of the refrigerator, do not leave it where children play. Remove the door packing to prevent the door from closing airtightly. Contact your environmental protection unit for proper disposal of insulation blowing gas and flammable refrigerant.

Power Cord:

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

• When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.

• Do not locate multiple portable socket outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.

Automatic Ice Maker (AIM):

• Fill with potable water only. The AIM is not intended to be connected to the water supply pipes. For ice making, fill potable water into the water tank only.

• Voltage: Only connect to a main voltage of 220-240V.

• Socket: Directly connect to the power socket. Do not use multiple sockets, as this may cause fire and electric shock.

• Grounding: For safety, always ensure the unit is grounded before use. Failure to comply may lead to fire or electric shock from electricity leakage.

• Power Cord and Plug:

• Ensure the power supply cord or plug is not pressed or pinched by any objects. Do not bind, bend, or press the cord with heavy objects or the back panel of the refrigerator.

• If the supply cord is damaged, frayed, or the plug has a loose connection, do not use it. This may cause fire or electric shock.

• When disconnecting, hold the plug itself. Pulling on the supply cord may damage the wire insulation.

• Periodically clean and remove dust from the power plug to prevent insufficient circuit connection.

1. Install your refrigerator on a strong and level floor. If the floor is uneven or unstable, the refrigerator may overturn, which could lead to injury.

2. Turn the adjustable leg on the right side to stabilize the refrigerator horizontally.

• Turn the adjustable leg clockwise to raise that side of the refrigerator.

• Turn it counter-clockwise to lower it.

3. Turn the “Adjustable Leg” to secure the stability of the refrigerator and prevent it from floating on its caster.

• Avoid Humid Places: Avoid any humid or wet places, such as near a kitchen sink. Such locations could cause corrosion or electric leakage. If installation directly on the ground is unavoidable, place a board under the refrigerator to prevent damage.

• Keep Away from Heat Sources: Keep the refrigerator away from direct sunlight, a gas range, or a heater. Placing it near a heat-emitting object will reduce its cooling effect and might cause a failure.

For proper air circulation and efficient operation, select a well-ventilated place and provide the following clearances:

• Top: At least 7.5 cm (3 inches)

• Rear: At least 10 cm (4 inches)

• Left and Right Sides: At least 4 cm (1.6 inches)

Also, ensure there is clearance between the rear of the refrigerator and the wall. Fix the drain evaporator pan stopper (provided with the user manual) into its position to maintain this clearance.

Follow these steps when moving and transporting the refrigerator:

1. Firstly, remove all food from the refrigerator.

2. Put a piece of large cloth under the refrigerator. Lean the refrigerator backward to remove water from the drain pan.

3. When carrying, hold the refrigerator at the front lower side and the rear upper side. Never hold it by the door or the handle.

4. Please lift from the bottom of the refrigerator when moving.

5. When relocating, do not lay the refrigerator on its side, as this may cause it to malfunction.

After disconnecting the plug from the outlet, wait at least 7 minutes before reconnecting it. If the plug is reconnected too quickly, the compressor may not run properly and may produce a rattling noise.

• Closing the Door: Use the handle when closing the refrigerator door to avoid accidentally slamming the door on your fingers.

• Secure Door Closure: Ensure the doors are closed properly without any gaps between the frame and the rubber packing. Containers inside should not protrude from the edge of the shelf and block the door.

• Keep Doors Closed: Do not leave the door open for a long period or frequently open and close the doors in short intervals. This allows warm air to enter and can cause poor cooling.

• Dew and Frost: Remove water droplets, frost, or dew inside the compartment by wiping with a dry cloth after wiping with a warm water-moistened cloth. It may also disappear by itself in a few days.

• Avoid Contact: Do not stick your hands or feet under the refrigerator. Steel plates and other parts may cause injury. Do not touch the freezing unit or ice tray with wet hands, as this may cause frostbite.

• Bottle Storage: Do not store bottles in the freezing unit. The contents may freeze and cause the bottle to break, leading to injury.

To ensure the maximum life of your refrigerator, clean its parts periodically. Before cleaning, be sure to pull out the plug from the power socket.

• Outside Surfaces: Polish them with a soft rag. For a heavy stain, wipe with a rag soaked in a natural detergent. The door handle should be wiped with a dry cloth. Using a cleanser solution can cause the external finishes to change colors and scratch.

• Door Packing: If stains are not removed, the door packing will be short-lived. Occasionally inspect the packing on the doors and remove any stain with a natural detergent.

• Interior Plastic Units: If they are stained or have an odor, clean them with a natural detergent. If smeared with salad oil or other cooking oil, the interior plastic unit may crack; wipe such smears off immediately.

1. Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.

2. For the most efficient use of energy, interior parts like shelves, crispers, and pockets should be set according to their position mentioned in the instruction booklet.

3. Ensure there is adequate space around the refrigerator: at least 10 cm (4 inches) at the top, 7.5 cm (3 inches) at the rear, and 4 cm (1.6 inches) on the left and right sides.

4. Use the refrigerator in a cool place.

5. Keep the refrigerator away from sunlight, a gas range, or a heater.

6. Do not obstruct the outlet and inlet of the cool air circulation with food or containers.

7. Do not put too much food inside. Provide enough space for internal cool air to circulate.

8. Do not set the refrigerator temperature lower than needed.

9. Cool hot food before storing it in the refrigerator.

10. Open the refrigerator door as briefly as possible.

Generally, the ice maker produces 10 ice cubes within about 2 hours, depending on the outside temperature and usage.

1. Open the water supply cap by following the arrow direction.

2. Fill the tank with potable water up to the “WATER LEVEL” line, then close the cap.

3. Carefully hold the tank to avoid spilling. Do not tilt or shake it.

4. Push the water-filled tank inside until it stops.

Note: It is recommended to use chlorinated water. To prevent dampness and mold, wash the tank with clean water before every use. Do not fill with hot water (above 60°C) or fruit juice.

This method generally produces 32 ice cubes within about 2 hours, depending on outside temperature and usage.

1. Fill the ice tray with water up to the water level line. If the water exceeds this line, the ice will freeze over and become hard to remove.

2. To remove the ice, twist the ice tray as shown in the provided figures.

Follow these steps if you are not using the automatic ice maker for an extended period or when moving the refrigerator:

1. Detach the tank and pour out all the water.

2. Press and hold the Fridge and FRZ buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The LED will light up at both Fridge and Freezer for 2 seconds. The ice maker tray will then turn upside down, and the ice cubes will drop into the ice box. Do not open the freezer door until this operation is finished.

3. Open the freezer and throw away the water or ice cubes inside the ice box.

4. After cleaning the freezer and the tank, dry them and reinstall.

To perform weekly maintenance, pull the tank stopper upwards and detach the cover.

Note:

• Do not use bleach, cleanser, hot water (heat-resistible temperature is 60°C), a scrubbing brush, thinner, or benzene.

• Do not pour washed water on the area of the water inlet valve installation.

• Only detach the assembly for maintenance and re-install it into place every time. If parts are not re-installed, water will spill or ice cannot be made.

• After maintenance, hang the “hook” of the cover to the inside of the tank and fasten it with the tank stopper facing you. If the cover is not completely closed, ice cannot be made.

To detach and install the water supply pipe and pump for cleaning:

1. Detach Pipe: Turn the pipe following the arrow direction and remove it from the cap. (Do not fully remove the water supply pipe, as this may cause damage).

2. Detach Pump: Pull the pump out of the water supply pipe-A.

3. Release Cap: Rotate to release the cap following the arrow direction as shown in the diagram.

4. Clean: Lightly clean the water supply pipe-A, pump impeller, pump box, and pump cap with a sponge dampened with clean water.

5. Re-install: To re-install, push the axle protruding from the pump into the edged hole of the water supply pipe-A. Then, insert the water supply pipe back into the pipe of the cap and tighten it in the reverse direction of the arrow shown for removal.

Use this operation to switch the refrigerator to an energy-saving mode.

• To start: Press the Fridge button to enter energy-saving mode. The ECO icon will appear on the display.

• To cancel: Press the Fridge button again. The ECO icon will disappear.

Note: While in energy-saving mode, the temperature inside the freezer compartment will rise approximately 1-2 degrees above the preset temperature. You should disable this function if you feel that beverages are not cool enough or ice making takes too long.

Use this operation when you want to cool beverages or other items quickly.

• To start: Press the Freezer button to enter quick freezing mode. The corresponding icon will appear on the display.

• To disable: Press the Freezer button again. The icon will disappear.

Note: In this mode, the freezing compartment will operate at a low temperature continuously for 150 minutes and then return to normal operation. You can deactivate this mode immediately after the temperature inside the freezer reaches your required level.

The temperature is set automatically, but you can adjust it manually. Use the Fridge button to decrease the freezing level (make it warmer) and the Freezer button to increase the freezing level (make it colder).

Refrigerator Compartment Settings:

• Position “1”: Temperature will be raised more than position “3” by 3-4°C.

• Position “3”: Temperature is about 5-6°C.

• Position “6”: Temperature will be decreased below position “3” by 2-3°C.

Freezer Compartment Settings:

• Position “1”: Temperature will be raised more than position “3” by 3-4°C.

• Position “3”: Temperature is about -19°C to -20°C.

• Position “6”: Temperature will be decreased below position “3” by 2-3°C.

Use the TEMP SELECT button (B) to choose between the refrigerating chamber and the freezing chamber.

• Refrigerating Chamber (2°C to 8°C): When the cold storage room is selected, press the up temperature button (A) to increase the temperature by 1 degree per press. Press the down temperature button (C) to decrease the temperature by 1 degree per press.

• Freezing Chamber (-16°C to -24°C): When the freezing chamber is selected, press the up temperature button (A) to increase the temperature by 1 degree per press. Press the down temperature button (C) to decrease the temperature by 1 degree per press.

• Quick Cooling: After the refrigeration temperature is adjusted downward to 2 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter the quick cooling mode. The quick cooling icon will light up. Press the temperature adjustment button to exit.

• Quick Freeze: After adjusting the freezing temperature downward to -24 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter the quick freezing mode. The quick freezing icon will light up. Press the temperature adjustment button to exit.

• To Lock: In the non-locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds. The lock buzzer will sound, and the panel will enter the locking state.

• To Unlock: In the locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds. The unlocking buzzer will sound, and the panel will enter the non-locking state.

The panel will automatically enter the locking state after 30 seconds of no button operation.

The following warnings on the display indicate corresponding faults. Although the refrigerator may still have a freezing function with these faults, you should contact a maintenance specialist to ensure normal use.

• Check if the refrigerator is plugged into the socket properly.

• Check if the fuse for your house’s electricity supply has blown, or if the circuit breaker has shut off.

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MIN”?

• Is the refrigerator placed in direct sunlight or near a stove and a heater?

• Is the door closed properly?

• Is the door being opened and closed too frequently in a short time?

• Has anything hot been placed in the refrigerator?

• Is the refrigerator overloaded?

• Is there sufficient air circulation around the refrigerator?

• Has the electricity supply been shut off?

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MAX”?

• Is the surrounding temperature lower than 5°C?

• Did you place food with high moisture content at the rear of the compartment? This area can cause freezing.

• Is the floor firm and level?

• Are there any trays or dishes around the refrigerator?

• Is the refrigerator installed unstably, or is it touching the wall?

Sometimes, moisture may form on the outside of the refrigerator, particularly when humidity is high, such as during the rainy season. This is similar to moisture forming on a glass of cold water and does not indicate a malfunction. If there is moisture on the outside of the refrigerator, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

• Is the door frequently closed and opened, or left open for a long time?

• Is there any food with high moisture stored uncovered in the refrigerator?

If there is moisture and flake inside the refrigerator, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

• Has the water remained in the tank for a long time? If ice cubes are not used, water will remain in the tank and the cubes can absorb odors from food.

• Is the tank dirty?

• Are smelly beverages other than the chlorinated water supply filled in the tank?

• Is there stinking food stored inside the freezer?

• Has the door been opened frequently or left open for a long time?

• Has the ice box been removed from the freezer for a long time?

• The power plug may have been disconnected or there was a power failure.

• Has the ice been kept for a long time? The ice cubes may melt and stick together.

If the ice is made from water containing many minerals (e.g., mineral water), these minerals can cause some white stains (calcium crystals) in the ice cubes. This does not deteriorate your health.

• It may be noisy when the ice cubes drop into the ice box. The noise will be louder when there are few cubes and will become lighter as the amount of ice increases.

• If the tank is empty, the pump will operate with noise.

• Is the pump installed properly? In case of improper installation, there may be some noise from the pump.

• Is the water filled over the “WATER LEVEL” line? If so, water may spill over when the tank is installed.

• Are some parts of the tank not installed, or is the installation of the tank cover incomplete? If the cover is installed improperly or some parts are not installed, water will spill over.

• Is the tank installed properly?

• Is there any water inside the tank?

• Does this occur after the refrigerator starts its operation? If the refrigerator is not cold enough, it will take 5 to 6 hours to make ice. When the outside temperature is high, it may take more than 24 hours.

• Is food stored in the ice box inside the freezer?

• Is the tank in the proper position?

• Is the door often opened or left open for a long time? If the temperature inside the freezer increases, ice may not be made. This is especially noticeable during summer.
