• Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance. Ether, benzene, alcohol, thinner, adhesive, spray, LP gas or any chemicals may explode and cause an accident.

• When disposing the refrigerator, do not leave it in places where children play. To protect children from dangerous confinement, remove the door packing so that the door cannot be closed airtightly.

• If the LED light is blown, it should only be removed by qualified service personnel.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.

• Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.

• Fill with potable water only. The Automatic Ice Maker System (AIM) for this refrigerator is not intended to be connected to the water supply. For ice making, you should fill potable water into the water tank only.

• **Specification:** Only connect to a main voltage of 220 – 240V. Directly connect to the power socket, and do not use multiple sockets. This may cause fire and electric shock.

• The power supply cord or plug should not be pressed or pinched by any objects. Binding, bending, pressing with heavy objects or applying pressure with the back panel of the refrigerator on the cord and plug may cause fire or electric shock.

• Disconnect the power supply by unplugging the power plug in case of a malfunction or breakdown. Continued use of the appliance may cause fire, electric shock, injury or skin burn.

• Disconnect the power supply by unplugging from the power plug, not by pulling the cord. Unplugging from the supply cords may damage the wire insulation, which may cause fire and electric shock.

• Disconnect the power plug while cleaning. This may cause injury and electric shock. Dry your hands thoroughly before handling the power plug.

• Clean and remove dust from the power plug periodically. Insufficient circuit connection may cause fire.

• Do not use the appliance if the supply cord is damaged or frayed, or if the power plug has a loose connection. This may cause fire or electric shock.

• For safety, always ensure the unit is grounded before use. Failure to comply may lead to fire or electric shock from electricity leakage.

The TOSHIBA GR-RT735WE-PGX contains a flammable refrigerant (R600a: iso-butane). Please follow these precautions:

• The refrigerator system behind and inside the refrigerator contains refrigerant. Do not allow any sharp objects to come into contact with the refrigeration system.

• In case the refrigerant circuit is damaged, do not use any electric appliances or fire equipment nearby. Open all windows to provide good ventilation and contact your local maintenance agent.

• If there is a gas leakage nearby, do not unplug or touch the refrigerator. Keep the ventilation opening. An electrical spark caused by these actions may cause fire or explosions.

1. Install your TOSHIBA GR-RT735WE-PGX on a strong and level floor.

2. Turn the adjustable leg to stabilize the refrigerator horizontally.

• The adjustable leg on the right side can be adjusted up and down.

• Turn the adjustable leg clockwise to raise the refrigerator, or turn it counter-clockwise to lower it.

• Turn the “Adjustable Leg” to secure the stability of the refrigerator and prevent it from floating on a caster.

• Avoid any humid or wet places, for example, near a kitchen sink. Such a place could cause corrosion or electric leakage. If installed directly on the ground, your refrigerator will be liable to damage. Place a board under the machine in such a case.

• Keep the refrigerator away from sunlight, a gas range, or a heater. If placed in sunlight or near a heat-emitting object, the refrigerator’s cooling effect will be reduced, and a failure might occur.

For proper air circulation, select a well-ventilated place and provide the following minimum clearances:

• **Top:** at least 7.5 cm (3 inches)

• **Rear side:** at least 10 cm (4 inches)

• **Left and right sides:** at least 4 cm (1.6 inches)

Also, ensure there is clearance between the rear side and the wall by fixing the drain evaporator pan stopper into its position.

Follow these steps when moving and transporting your refrigerator:

1. Firstly, remove all food.

2. Put a piece of big cloth under the refrigerator, and lean the refrigerator backward to remove water from the drain pan.

3. When carrying, hold the refrigerator by the front lower side and rear upper side. Never hold it by the door or the handle.

4. Please lift from the bottom of the refrigerator when moving.

5. When relocating, do not lay the refrigerator on its side, as doing so may cause it to malfunction.

After disconnecting the plug from the outlet, wait at least 7 minutes before reconnecting it. If the plug is quickly reconnected, the compressor may not run properly and may produce a rattling noise.

• **Power Connection:** Connect the plug to the power socket firmly. A poor or loose connection will cause a malfunction. Take necessary precautions, such as replacement of the power socket if poor or loose connection is observed.

• **Door Operation:** Use the handle when closing the refrigerator door to avoid slamming the door on your fingers.

• **Secure Door Closure:** Ensure the doors are closed properly. Make sure that food inside does not block the door. There should be no gaps between the frame and rubber packing on the door.

• **Door Opening:** Do not leave the door open for a long period of time and/or do not frequently open and close the doors in short intervals. This will result in warm air entering the compartments and invoke poor cooling.

• **Dew and Frost:** Remove water droplets, frost (icing), or dew attached to the inside of the refrigerator. This will normally disappear by itself in a few days. Or it can be taken away manually by wiping with a dry cloth after wiping it off with a warm water-moistened cloth.

• **Physical Contact:** Do not stick your hands or feet under the refrigerator, as steel plates and other parts may cause injury. Do not touch the freezing unit or ice tray with wet hands, as it may cause frostbites.

• **Storage:** Do not store bottles in the freezing unit. Bottles may break when the contents are frozen and may cause injury. Do not store water in the ice box for ice making, as this may cause it to break. Drain off any remaining water in the ice box when there is an electric shutdown or the unit is unplugged.

1. Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

2. To get the most efficient use of energy, the interior parts such as shelves, crisper, and pockets should be set following their position mentioned in the instruction booklet.

3. Leave adequate space around the refrigerator as recommended for installation.

4. Use the refrigerator in a cool place.

5. Keep the refrigerator away from sunlight, a gas range, or a heater.

6. Do not obstruct the outlet and inlet of the cool air circulation with food or containers.

7. Do not put in too much food. Provide enough space for internal cool air to circulate.

8. Do not set the temperature of the refrigerator lower than needed.

9. Hot food should be cooled before storing.

10. Open your refrigerator door as briefly as possible.

To ensure the maximum life of your TOSHIBA GR-RT735WE-PGX, periodically clean its parts. When cleaning, be sure to pull out the refrigerator’s plug from the power socket and be careful not to pull the cord or get it caught under the machine. Do not pour water directly on the refrigerator.

• **Outside Surfaces:** Polish them with a soft rag. A heavy stain should be wiped off with a rag soaked in a natural detergent. The door handle should be wiped with a dry cloth. Using a cleanser solution will cause the external finishes to change colors and scratch.

• **Door Packing:** The packing on the doors will be short-lived if stains are not removed. Occasionally, inspect the packing on the doors, and remove any stain with a natural detergent.

• **Interior Plastic Units:** If they are stained or have any odor, the interior plastic units should be cleaned with a natural detergent. When smeared with salad oil or other cooking oil, the interior plastic unit may crack. Wipe such smears off.

1. Open the water supply cap following the arrow direction.

2. Fill the water to the “WATER LEVEL” line and close the cap.

3. Carefully hold the tank. If the tank tilts or shakes, the water will spill over.

4. Push the water-fill tank inside until it stops. The direction to install the tank is with the tank stopper facing your body.

Generally, the ice maker produces 10 ice cubes within 2 hours with an outside temperature of 30°C and the door closed. The time can be longer if the door is opened frequently, a large amount of food is stored, the outside temperature is high, or when the refrigerator is first operated.

1. Fill the ice tray with water up to the water level line. If the water exceeds the water level line, it will freeze over and become hard to remove.

2. To remove ice, twist the ice tray as shown in the figure.

Generally, the ice maker produces 32 ice cubes within 2 hours with an outside temperature of 30°C and the door closed. The time can be longer if the door is opened frequently, a large amount of food is stored, the outside temperature is high, or when the refrigerator is first operated.

• Do not disassemble, improve, or modify the ice maker.

• Do not touch the producing parts (the upper part of the ice box) of the automatic ice maker. If the ice maker tray is rotating, you may get hurt.

• To prevent damp and moulds, wash the tank with clean water every time before use.

• For the first time use or when not in use for a week or more, throw away all of the first-time ice (about 30 cubes). Sometimes, the ice cubes may be smelly and contaminated with some particles.

• Do not fill any other things such as hot water (above 60°C) or fruit juice into the tank; use water only.

• When foreign matter falls into the tank, carefully check if the tank leaks or breaks.

• Fill with potable water only.

• It is recommended to use the chlorinated water supply. In case of using other kinds of water, the purity of water must be attended to.

• To detach the tank, do not pull the tank stopper because the tank will open and the water will spill over.

1. Detach the tank and pour out all water.

2. Press the Fridge and Freezer buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds. The LED will light up at Fridge and Freezer for 2 times. The ice maker tray will then turn upside down, and the ice cubes will drop into the ice box inside the freezer. Do not open the freezer door until the operation is finished.

3. Open the freezer and throw away the water or the ice cubes inside the ice box.

4. After cleaning the freezer and the tank, dry it and reinstall.

Pull the tank stopper upwards and detach the cover.

**Note:**

• Do not use bleach, cleanser, or hot water (the heat-resistible temperature of the equipment is 60°C). Do not use a scrubbing brush, thinner, benzene, etc. as such materials can cause smell and damages.

• Do not pour out the washed water on the area of water inlet valve installation (parts side) as this can damage the ice maker assembly.

• Detach the assembly for maintenance only and re-install into place every time. Unless the parts are re-installed, water will spill over or ice cannot be made.

• After maintenance, hang the “hook” of the cover to the inside of the tank and fasten it with the tank stopper facing you. If the cover is not completely closed, ice cannot be made.

To detach and install:

1. Turn the water supply pipe-A following the arrow direction and remove it from the cap. To re-install, insert the water supply pipe into the pipe of the cap, then tighten it in the reverse direction of the arrow. Do not remove the water supply pipe completely as this may cause damage.

2. Pull the pump out of the water supply pipe-A. To re-install, push the axle protruding from the pump into the edged hole of the water supply pipe-A.

3. Rotate to release the cap following the arrow direction as shown in the diagram.

4. Lightly clean the water supply pipe-A, pump impeller, pump box, and pump cap with a sponge dampened with clean water.

Touch the buttons with your hand when using each function.

• **Energy Saving:** Press the `Fridge` button to enter energy-saving mode; the ECO icon will appear. To cancel, press the `Fridge` button again, and the icon will disappear. In this mode, the freezer temperature will rise by approximately 1-2 degrees.

• **Quick Freezing:** Press the `Freezer` button to enter quick freezing mode; the quick freeze icons will appear. To disable, press the `Freezer` button again, and the icons will disappear. In this mode, the freezer compartment will operate at a low temperature for 150 minutes continuously.

• **Temperature Controls (Freezer compartment):** Press the `Fridge` button to decrease the freezing level (make it warmer) and the `Freezer` button to increase the freezing level (make it colder). There are 6 levels of adjustment.

• **Temperature setting of refrigerating chamber:** The temperature setting range is 2°C to 8°C. Select the cold storage room (B), then press the up (A) or down (C) temperature buttons to adjust. Each press changes the temperature by 1 degree.

• **Temperature setting of freezing chamber:** The temperature setting range is -16°C to -24°C. Select the freezing chamber (B), then press the up (A) or down (C) temperature buttons to adjust. Each press changes the temperature by 1 degree.

• **Quick cooling:** After adjusting the refrigeration temperature downward to 2 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter quick cooling mode. The quick cooling icon lights up. Press the temperature adjustment button to exit.

• **Quick freeze:** After adjusting the freezing temperature downward to -24 degrees, press the temperature adjustment button again to enter quick freezing mode. The quick freezing icon will light up. Press the temperature adjustment button to exit.

• **Locking / unlocking:** In the non-locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds to enter the locking state. A buzzer will sound. In the locking state, press and hold the lock button (D) for 3 seconds to enter the non-locking state. An unlocking buzzer will sound. After 30 seconds of no button operation, it will enter the locking state automatically.

The following warnings appearing on the display indicate corresponding faults of the refrigerator. Though the refrigerator may still have a refrigerating and freezing function with the following faults, you should contact a maintenance specialist for maintenance to ensure normal use.

Please check the following:

• Is the refrigerator plugged into the socket properly?

• Has the fuse for your house’s electricity supply blown, or has the circuit breaker shut off?

Please check the following:

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MIN”?

• Is the refrigerator placed in direct sunlight or near a stove and a heater?

• Is the door closed properly?

• Is the door being opened and closed too frequently in a short time?

• Has anything hot been placed in the refrigerator?

• Is the refrigerator overloaded?

• Is there sufficient air circulation around the refrigerator?

• Has the electricity supply been shut off?

Please check the following:

• Is the temperature control dial set to “MAX”?

• Is the surrounding temperature lower than 5°C?

• Did you place the food containing high moisture at the rear of the compartment? Such an area can cause freezing.

Please check the following:

• Is the floor firm and level?

• Are there any trays or dishes around the refrigerator?

• Is the refrigerator installed unstably or does it touch the wall?

Sometimes, moisture may form on the outside of the refrigerator, particularly when humidity is high, such as during the rainy season. This is regarded as the same occurrence of moisture on a glass of cold water and does not indicate a malfunction. If there is some moisture on the outside of the refrigerator, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

Please check the following:

• Is the door frequently closed and opened or left opened for a long time?

• Is there any food with high moisture stored uncovered in the refrigerator?

If there is moisture and flake inside the refrigerator, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

Please check the following possibilities:

• Has the water remained in the tank for a long time? If ice cubes are not used, water will remain in the tank, and the cubes can absorb the odor of the food.

• Is the tank dirty?

• Are smelly water or beverages other than the chlorinated water supply filled in the tank?

• Is there stinking food stored inside the freezer?

Please check the following possibilities:

• Is the door often opened or left open for a long time?

• Is the ice box removed from the freezer for a long time?

• The power plug may be disconnected, or there was a power failure.

• Has the ice been kept for a long time? The ice cubes may melt and stick together.

If the ice is made from water containing many minerals (e.g., mineral water), such minerals can cause some white stains (calcium crystals) to be contaminated in the ice cubes. However, this does not deteriorate your health.

Please check the following possibilities:

• It may be noisy when the ice cubes drop into the ice box. The noise from the ice cubes dropping will be very loud if there are few cubes produced. As the amount of ice cubes increases, the noise will become lighter.

• If the tank is empty, the pump will operate with noise.

• Is the pump installed properly? In case of improper installation, there may be some noise from the pump.

Please check the following possibilities:

• Is there any water inside the tank?

• Does it occur after the refrigerator starts the operation? If the refrigerator is not cold enough, it will take 5 to 6 hours to make ice. (Especially, when the outside temperature is rather high, it may take more than 24 hours to do.)

• Is food stored in the ice box inside the freezer?

• Is the tank in the proper position?

• Is the door often opened or left open for a long time? If the temperature inside the freezer increases, ice may not be made. (This will be especially affected during summer.)

• Is the door completely closed?
