If your SONY WH-1000XM4 does not operate properly, perform the following reset procedure. Note that device pairing information is not deleted during this process.

3. Touch the N-mark part of your NFC-compatible device to the N-mark part of the headphones. The left channel side indicator (blue) will change from a slow flash to a fast flash, indicating a connection is being made. After the connection is complete, the indicator will return to a slow flash.

4. Wear the headphones and play audio from your NFC-compatible device to check that sound is outputting normally from the left and right channels.

5. To disconnect, touch the N-mark part of the headphones with the N-mark of your device again.

When handling a new lithium-ion storage battery for your SONY WH-1000XM4, please observe the following precautions:

Do not drop it: If the battery is dropped accidentally, do not use it.

To remove the earpad assembly from your SONY WH-1000XM4, follow these instructions. This procedure is the same for both the left and right sides.

1. Hold the plate earpad (the hard plastic part inside the earpad assembly) with your hand.

2. Pull it inward until you hear a sound, which indicates a claw has been released from the housing block.

3. Continue this process to release all six claws in order.

Important: Do not hold and pull the soft cushion portion of the earpad assembly, as this will damage it. If you cannot remove it by hand, you may use a designated tool for disassembling to insert into the gap and release the claws, but be careful not to damage the housing block.

To install the earpad assembly on your SONY WH-1000XM4, follow these steps in order:

1. Align the two ribs on the housing block with the two holes on the earpad assembly. For the left earpad, make sure to align the position of the wearing detection window.

2. Press the earpad assembly onto the housing block until you hear a sound from all six claw positions, indicating they are firmly caught in the hooks.
