The SONY GP-VPT3 WW030588 uses one CR2032 lithium coin battery. To replace it:

1. Open the battery compartment cover. Be sure to use a coin or similar object to turn the battery compartment cover.

2. Insert a new battery with the + side facing up.

3. Close the battery compartment cover.

When you purchase the unit, a battery is already inserted. The battery may be depleted sooner than the battery life described in the instruction manual because it was inserted at the factory to check for performance.

To pair the SONY GP-VPT3 WW030588 with your camera, follow these steps:

1. On the camera, select MENU → (Network) → [Bluetooth Settings] → [Bluetooth Function] → [On].

2. On the camera, select MENU → (Network) → [Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl] → [On].

3. On the camera, select MENU → (Network) → [Bluetooth Settings] → [Pairing]. Then, on this unit, press and hold the PHOTO button and the T side of the Zoom button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more. This unit’s LOCK lamp will blink, and “Allow pairing with the device?” will appear on the camera’s screen.

Select [OK] on the camera screen.

A confirmation message appears on the camera screen when pairing is complete.

Note: The menu path may be different for your camera model. Please check your camera’s instruction manual.

On the camera, ensure that MENU → (Network) → [Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl] is set to [On].

When using this unit as a tripod:

– Spread the legs until they stop and check that the unit is stable.

– When a camera is attached, do not carry the unit by holding the camera.

– Do not attach any accessories other than a camera, etc. to this unit.

– If a heavy lens is attached to the camera, the unit may become unstable.

– When a macro lens is used, the unit may become unstable, so be sure to shoot on a flat surface.

– If a camera with a built-in flash is used, the flash may be blocked by this unit.

When the angle adjustment button is pressed, the camera may tilt quickly. Be careful not to pinch your fingers.

The buttons on this unit do not work when:

– the power of the paired camera is turned off.

– the paired camera is in playback mode.

– the paired camera is in setting mode, such as when the MENU screen is displayed.

– the LOCK switch on this unit is set to LOCK.

– this unit has not been paired with the camera.

A message may be displayed on the camera screen indicating that the connection with this unit has been disconnected. This is not a malfunction.

This product may not be able to perform Bluetooth communication with some cameras. If pairing fails, or if the unit is unstable during use, it may be possible to resolve the issue by updating the software of the camera to the latest version.
