Before you begin the factory reset process on your SMARTAB STW1050, please be aware of the following:

This process will erase all data on the notebook, including the password settings, any saved apps, files, photos, videos, and any other saved information. Once finished, the Tablet/Notebook will be restored to factory default settings, including all factory preinstalled apps. Any apps you have purchased and/or downloaded will need to be reinstalled manually when the reset is complete.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the Tablet/Notebook is plugged in during the entire process. Do not perform the factory reset using only battery power.

To reset your SMARTAB STW1050 to factory settings, please follow these steps:

1. On the “Sign in” screen, click on the [POWER] button.

2. Hold down the [SHIFT] button on your keyboard and click on “Restart”. Continue to hold the [SHIFT] key until the “Choose an option” screen appears. NOTE: If there are pending updates, you can click on “Update and restart” while holding the [SHIFT] button.

3. On the “Choose an option” screen, click on “Troubleshoot”.

4. On the “Troubleshoot” screen, click on “Reset this PC”.

5. You will be given two options. Click on “Remove everything”.

6. On the next screen, click on “Just remove my files”.

7. To confirm and begin the process, click on “Restart”.

After you click “Restart” to begin the factory reset on your SMARTAB STW1050, the notebook will start the restart process, which could take up to half an hour. During this time, you will see an “Installing Windows” screen, and your PC will restart several times.

The Tablet/Notebook will then continue with the installation, which could take up to another half hour. The device may restart multiple times during this final phase. Once finished, it will load into the Windows setup screen, and you can create a new account as if the Tablet/Notebook were new.
