When using the RONGTA ACE V1 thermal receipt printer, please observe the following safety warnings:

• Do not touch the paper cutting knife or paper-tearing knife of the printer.

• The print head is a heating component. Do not touch the print head and its surrounding components when the printer is still warm.

• Do not touch the surface of the thermal print head and connectors to avoid electrostatic damage to the print head.

• This product is only suitable for use in non-tropical climates.

The RONGTA ACE V1 thermal receipt printer has the following main features:

• High printing quality and low noise.

• Attractive appearance with a reasonable structure for simple use and maintenance.

• Built-in data buffer that receives print data during printing.

• Supports NFC fast connection.

• Supports USB port, WIFI, Ethernet port, and cashbox interface (subject to the actual model).

• Characters can be enlarged, bolded, and underlined. It also allows adjustment of line spacing and left-right spacing.

• Supports bitmap downloading and graphic printing with different densities.

• Realizes high-speed printing equivalent to calling built-in and cartridge font in driver printing mode (dot map).

Before operating and using the RONGTA ACE V1 printer, please carefully read and strictly observe the following safety rules:

1. Please install the printer on a stable surface to avoid vibration and shocks.

2. Stop using the product in case of unusual circumstances such as high temperature, high humidity, and serious pollution.

3. Connect the printer’s power adapter to an appropriate grounding socket. Avoid using the same socket with large motors or other equipment that may cause voltage fluctuation.

4. Do not get the product wet. Do not insert foreign objects (e.g., metal) into the product. If this occurs, immediately turn off the power supply.

5. Never use the printer without paper, as it will seriously damage the printing rubber roller and thermal head.

6. Unplug the product from the power outlet if the printer is idle for a long time.

7. Do not disassemble or modify the product personally.

8. Use only the power adapter specified in this instruction.

9. To ensure printing quality and prolong the product’s service life, it is recommended to use the recommended or equivalent thermal printing paper.

10. Do not plug/unplug the product with the product powered on.

11. When plugging and unplugging the printer power cord, hold the arrow position of the power connector with your hand, not the cord itself.

12. Please keep this manual for future use and reference.

For the RONGTA ACE V1 printer, it is recommended to use thermal printing paper. Specific recommended types are:

• Specifications: AF50KS-E Manufacturer: Jujo Thermal Oy(Finland)

• Specifications: TF-50KS-E Manufacturer: Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd

Please follow these precautions:

1. To get the best results, choose the recommended paper or other paper with equivalent quality. Otherwise, the printing quality will be affected and the service life of the thermal print head may be reduced.

2. Do not use a paper roll where the end is glued to the core, as it may cause damage to the printer.

3. If the printing paper is contaminated by chemicals or oils, it may fade or reduce its heat sensitivity, affecting the printing effect.

4. Do not rub the surface of the printing paper with hard articles, as it may cause fading.

5. The print paper will fade if the temperature is up to 70°C. Keep it out of direct sunlight, humidity, and high temperature.

The interfaces for the RONGTA ACE V1 printer are optional or customized, and the specific interface is subject to the actual object. The available interfaces are:

Before using the RONGTA ACE V1 printer, ensure the following accessories are included in the package. If anything is missing, contact the supplier or manufacturer. Note that specific accessories may vary depending on the printer model.

To connect your RONGTA ACE V1 printer, follow these steps:

1. Make sure that both the printer and the PC host are turned off. Plug the matching data communication cable into the printer’s data interface, and plug the other end into the serial port, parallel port, USB, or network port of the PC host.

2. If you have an electrically openable cashbox, insert the RJ-11 connector on the cashbox into the cashbox interface of the printer. The specifications of the cashbox must conform to the printer’s cashbox drive specifications.

3. Connect the special power adapter for the printer. First plug the power plug DC24V of the printer, then switch on the AC220V power supply, and then turn on the power switch. Do not reverse this sequence.

Attention:

• Using an improper power adapter will make the printing quality worse and can even damage the printer.

• Do not connect a telephone line to the cashbox interface, otherwise the printer and telephone may be damaged.

• When plugging in the printer power cord, hold the arrow position of the connector. Forcibly pulling the cord may cause damage.

The RONGTA ACE V1 printer uses 80 mm thermal paper rolls. Follow these steps to load the paper:

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Confirm the top cover is open.

3. Place the paper roll and make sure the print side of the paper roll is facing forward. Pull out a part of the paper beyond the top cover.

4. Close the top cover and press forward gently until it closes with a “click” sound.

To install label paper in your RONGTA ACE V1 printer, follow these steps:

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Confirm the top cover is open.

3. Insert the paper shaft into the label paper roll, and adjust the stopper to keep the roll on the right. Pull out a part of the paper beyond the top cover.

4. Close the top cover and press forward gently until it closes with a “click” sound.

Power Switch:

The power switch is located on the left side of the RONGTA ACE V1 printer. When the “-” switch is pressed, the printer is turned on. When the “O” of the switch is pressed, the printer is turned off. Make sure the power supply is connected before turning on the printer.

FEED key:

• Press the FEED button once to advance the paper.

• Hold down the FEED button to feed paper continuously.

• To print a self-test, hold down the FEED button and turn on the product at the same time.

You can change the settings of your RONGTA ACE V1 printer using the DIP switch at the bottom of the printer. The functions of each switch are as follows:

Transmission speed settings (bps):

A self-test can detect if the RONGTA ACE V1 printer is working normally. If it prints correctly, it indicates that everything is normal except for the connection interface with the host computer. The self-test will print the software version number, print density, interface type, English characters, and some Chinese characters.

To perform a self-test:

1. After the printer is connected, first press and hold the feed key.

2. While holding the feed key, turn on the power supply of the printer.

3. The printer will reset and detect. Release the feeding button less than 5 seconds after the reset is completed.

4. The printer will then carry out the self-test and print the self-inspection list sample.

If your RONGTA ACE V1 printer has the optional Bluetooth function, it needs to be paired with the main device before working. The general pairing method is as follows:

1. Turn on the printer.

2. The main device searches for an external Bluetooth device.

3. If there are multiple external Bluetooth devices, select the printer corresponding to the BDA address (see the self-test page for details).

4. Enter the initial password “0000” or “1234”.

5. Complete the pairing.

Note: During pairing, do not turn on multiple printers at the same time, otherwise you may not be able to judge which printer was successfully paired.

After successful pairing, other host computers can still be paired with the printer. Each printer can be paired with up to 8 host computers. For host computers with virtual Bluetooth serial ports (like smartphones or notebooks), printing data can be sent to the printer via the virtual Bluetooth serial port after pairing.

The pin definitions for the various interfaces on the RONGTA ACE V1 printer are as follows:

Clean the print head of your RONGTA ACE V1 when one of the following conditions occurs:

• Printing is not clear.

• A vertical column of the printed page is not clear.

• The paper feeding noise is high.

Follow these cleaning steps:

1. Disconnect the power cord, open the top cover, and remove the paper if it exists.

2. If printing has just been completed, wait for the print head to cool completely.

3. Clean the printer head with a soft cotton cloth moistened with ethyl alcohol.

4. After waiting for the absolute ethyl alcohol to volatilize completely, close the top cover and try printing again.

Clean the paper shortage sensor on your RONGTA ACE V1 when one of the following conditions occurs:

• In the printing process, the printer occasionally stops printing and alarms for paper shortage.

• It does not give alarms for paper shortage when it should.

Follow these cleaning steps:

1. Turn off the power supply of the printer, open the top cover, and remove the paper if there is any.

2. Wipe off the dust and stain on the sensor surface with a soft, dry cotton cloth dipped in absolute ethyl alcohol.

3. After waiting for the absolute ethyl alcohol to volatilize completely, close the top cover and try to start the machine again.

The printing rubber roller on the RONGTA ACE V1 should be cleaned when one of the following conditions occurs:

• Printing is not clear.

• A vertical column of the printed page is not clear.

• The paper feeding noise is high.

The cleaning steps are as follows:

1. Turn off the power of the printer and open the top cover.

2. Use a soft, dry cotton cloth dipped in a neutral detergent to wipe off dust and stains on the surface of the printing rubber roller.

3. Close the top cover after the cleaning agent has completely volatilized.

Please observe the following points during daily maintenance of your RONGTA ACE V1 printer:

1. The power supply must be turned off during daily maintenance.

2. Do not touch the surface of the print head with your hands or metal objects. Do not scratch the surface of the print head, printing rubber roller, or sensor with tweezers or other tools.

3. Organic solvents such as gasoline and acetone shall not be used.

4. Wait until absolute ethyl alcohol is completely volatilized, then turn on the power supply to continue printing.

When a paper jam occurs on your RONGTA ACE V1, first turn off the power supply and open the top cover of the printer. After the print head cools down, carefully remove the jammed paper. Then, load the paper correctly and close the top cover. Using the recommended printing paper or equivalent quality paper with the specified width can help prevent jams.

When the knife of the RONGTA ACE V1 printer is jammed, the upper cover cannot be opened. First, power off the printer and restart it. If the jammed knife is not reset, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the power supply of the printer.

2. Open the front cover of the printer.

3. Release the jammed knife by reversing the gear.

If the indicator light on the control panel of your RONGTA ACE V1 is not on, check whether the power cord is properly plugged into the printer, power adapter, and power outlet. Also, check if the printer’s power switch is on.

If the indicator is normal but the RONGTA ACE V1 printer does not work, first run the self-test to check whether the printer can work properly. If you cannot perform a self-test, please contact your distributor or technical service personnel.

If the self-test can be performed normally, check the following:

1. Check the interfaces at both ends of the connection line between the printer and the computer. Confirm whether the connection meets the specifications of the printer and computer.

2. The data transfer settings between the printer and the computer may be different. You can use the self-test to print out the printer’s interface settings. If the printer still cannot print, please contact your distributor or technical service personnel.

There are two ways to drive the RONGTA ACE V1 thermal receipt printer:

1. Installation for Windows

Add the printer to Windows and assign the driver files from the driver disk to Windows. You can then print by calling the print command in a program. In this mode, the printer driver converts characters into a graphic dot matrix for printing.

2. The Port Direct Drive

This method does not require a driver. Characters are directly output to the port, and the printer’s built-in and cartridge fonts are used for printing. This changes the printing mode from page printing to line printing, making control more convenient. This mode requires using the ESC/POS command set, which is integrated inside the printer, to control printing.

To use the NFC function on your RONGTA ACE V1 (limited to models with this feature), place a mobile phone with the appropriate APP and NFC function near the top of the printer. The APP will then be started and connected to the printer.
