What are the important safeguards when using the kettle?

Only use this kettle for its intended purpose (Domestic use only).

Do not immerse the kettle or its base into water.

Connect the appliance only to an alternating current of the voltage specified on the rating plate and only to an earthed socket. To avoid circuit overload do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.

Never pull the cord to disconnect from the socket, always remove by grasping the plug.

Do not lift the appliance by electric cord or supply hose.

Always disconnect the appliance from the socket when not in use.

Do not operate this appliance if the cord has been damaged or if it has been dropped, it must be inspected by a qualified person (electrician) for examination and repair.

Always keep the kettle out of reach of children and always ensure that children are supervised when the kettle is switched on.

During use always position the power base on a stable and even surface, always place the kettle on the power base.

Do not allow the power cord to touch the hot surface.

Burns can occur from touching hot parts, hot water and steam. Use caution when using this appliance. When the kettle is in use it will become hot. Only handle by its handle.

Never use the kettle facing towards other people as the hot steam can cause burns.

Never leave the kettle unattended when it is switched on.

If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or other qualified electrician to avoid hazard.

This kettle is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack or experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

Never over fill the kettle.

Do not use the kettle with wet hands.

Do not boil the kettle when it is empty.

How should I use the kettle for the first time?

Before you use the kettle for the first time, remove the base from inside, then fill the kettle and boil the water (follow instructions for boiling below) and empty the water.


How do I clean the washable filter?

This kettle comes with a washable filter. To remove the filter open the lid and slide the filter upwards. Rinse under clear clean water and return into the kettle.


How do I operate the kettle?

To operate the kettle simply plug the base into your wall socket and switch on. Fill the kettle up to desired water level, place onto the base. Then push the switch (located on the rear back side of the kettle) into the down position. The Red light will come on indicating that the water is now boiling. The kettle will automatically switch off when the water is boiled.


What are the cleaning instructions for the kettle?

WARNING: NEVER IMMERSE THE KETTLE OR BASE IN WATER.

Before cleaning, always disconnect from the mains and allow the kettle to cool.

To clean the exterior, wipe with a soft damp cloth and then wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Do not use scouring creams or powders.

Remove stubborn stains with a cloth moistened with mild liquid detergent.

From time to time, dependent on the nature of your water supply, you may need to clean off the scale on the inside of the Jug Kettle. You will have to do this in areas where the water is “Hard Water”. We recommend that you use a well known branded DESCALER for this. Please follow the descaler instructions when doing this.
