Notes:
* To save power, the flashing cycle can be changed to 20s or 30s via the analysis software.
** To save power, all alarm indications for temperature and humidity can be disabled via the analysis software.
*** When both temperature and relative humidity readings exceed the alarm level synchronously, the LED status indication will alternate every cycle.
**** When the battery is low, all operations will be disabled automatically. NOTE: No matter what has interrupted data logging, you must use the analysis software to restart logging.
How do I replace the battery in the PCE INSTRUMENTS PCE-HT 71N?
It is recommended to replace the battery every 12 months, or prior to logging critical data. The datalogger does not lose its stored readings when the battery is discharged or replaced. However, the data logging process will be stopped and cannot be restarted until the battery has been replaced and the logged data has been downloaded to a PC.
Only use 3.6V lithium batteries. Before replacing the battery, remove the device from the PC.
NOTE: Leaving the device plugged into a USB port for longer than necessary will cause some of the battery capacity to be lost.
Procedure:
1. Use a small tool like a screwdriver to gently pry open the case at the seam near the USB connector.
2. Slide the main body of the datalogger out of its protective casing.
3. Remove the old battery and insert a new 3.6V lithium battery, observing the correct polarity.
4. Slide the main body back into the casing until it clicks shut.
WARNING: Handle lithium batteries carefully, observe warnings on the battery casing. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
How do I perform a recondition procedure on the PCE INSTRUMENTS PCE-HT 71N sensor?
Exposure of the internal sensor to chemical vapors may interfere with it and cause inaccurate readings. In a clean environment, this will slowly rectify itself. However, exposure to extreme conditions or chemical vapors will require the following reconditioning procedure to bring the internal sensor back to its calibration state.
Procedure:
1. Baking: Place the device in an environment at 80°C (176°F) with less than 5%RH for 36 hours.
2. Re-hydration: After baking, place the device in an environment at 20-30°C (70-90°F) with greater than 74%RH for 48 hours.
High levels of pollutants may cause permanent damage to the internal sensor.
