The appliance should be connected to a circuit with an isolating switch for full disconnection from the power supply. All cabinetry and materials must withstand a minimum temperature of 50°C above the room’s ambient temperature while in use. A barrier must be installed to prevent accidental contact with the cooktop base where it is accessible. A minimum clearance of 50mm must be maintained between the base and the barrier. Do not use any kind of silicon sealant to seal the appliance against the benchtop. Clamps and screws are supplied to ensure the cooktop cannot move after installation.

Adjust the brackets’ position to suit your work surface’s thickness. The brackets should not touch the inner surfaces of the worktop after installation.

How should the electrical connection be made?

If the cooktop doesn’t come with a 10 amp power plug, the power supply should be connected in compliance with the relevant standard, or a single-pole circuit breaker. If the cable is damaged or needs replacing, this should be done by an after-sales technician using the proper tools. If the appliance is being connected directly to the mains supply, an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed with a minimum gap of 3mm between the contacts.
