What items are needed to install memory SIMMs into your VXIpc-700 Series?
To install memory SIMMs into your VXIpc-700 Series, you will need the following items:
72-pin, 70 ns SIMMs with parity
Phillips head screwdriver
What is the installation procedure for adding SIMMs to your VXIpc-700 Series module?
Perform the following steps to add SIMMs to your VXIpc-700 Series module:
1. Remove the cover of the VXIpc-700 Series module by removing the 10 screws. There are four screws on the top side, two on the right side, and four on the bottom side. Keep these screws in a safe place.
2. Insert SIMM modules in the SIMM sockets on the motherboard. Make sure to use proper antistatic precautions in handling the modules. It is not necessary to have a matched pair of SIMMs. For example, if you want to upgrade to a total of 48 MB, you can have a 16 MB SIMM in one slot and a 32 MB SIMM in the other slot.
3. Reinstall the cover using the 10 screws.
The SIMM modules are now installed.
