• Do not use intermediate connection of electric wires.

• If the air conditioner is installed in a small room, measures must be taken to prevent the refrigerant concentration from exceeding the safety limit even if the refrigerant should leak.

• Installers are requested to wear protective equipment such as gloves, as the cut face of punched parts may cause injury.

• When installing, relocating, or servicing the air conditioner, use only the specified refrigerant (R410A) to charge the refrigerant lines. Do not mix it with any other refrigerant and do not allow air to remain in the lines. If air is mixed with the refrigerant, it can cause abnormal high pressure, resulting in an explosion and other hazards.

• The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

Caution: Describes precautions that must be observed to prevent damage to the unit.

• Do not use existing refrigerant piping when using R410A refrigerant.

• Use ester oil, ether oil, or alkylbenzene (small amount) as the refrigerator oil to coat flares and flange connections when using R410A refrigerant.

• Do not use the air conditioner in special environments.

• Ground the unit.

• Install a leak molded case circuit breaker, as required.

• Use power line cables of sufficient current carrying capacity and rating.

• Use only a molded case circuit breaker and fuse of the specified capacity.

• Do not touch the switches with wet fingers.

• Do not touch the refrigerant pipes during and immediately after operation.

• Do not operate the air conditioner with the panels and guards removed.

• Do not turn off the power immediately after stopping operation.


How do I determine the ceiling openings and suspension bolt locations for the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-EP-NEMU-E1?

Caution: Install the indoor unit at least 2.4 m (94-1/2 inches) above the floor or grade level. This is for appliances not accessible to the general public.

5. The space between the ceiling panel of the unit and the ceiling slab must be 10 to 15 mm (25/64 to 19/32 inch).

6. If the optional multi-functional casement is installed, add 135 mm (5-5/16 inch) to the dimensions marked on the figure.

Ferro-concrete structures:

• Secure the suspension bolts using the method shown in the manual, or use steel or wooden hangers to install the suspension bolts.

Temporary installation: Align the screw holes in the grille corners with the mounting holes in the main unit corners. Latch the two hooks on the grille onto the drain pan projections on the main unit to temporarily hang it.
Securing the grille: Secure the grille by tightening the four screws. Ensure there are no gaps between the main unit and the panel, or the panel and the ceiling. Adjust the main unit height to close any gaps.
Caution: When tightening the screw with a captive washer, use a tightening torque of 2.8-3.6 N·m (2.1-2.6 ft-lbs). Never use an impact screwdriver. After tightening, confirm the two grille hooks are latched onto the main unit hooks.
Wire connection: Loosen the 2 screws on the electrical box cover and open it. Connect the 20-pole white connector for the grille’s vane motor to the CNV connector on the main unit’s controller board. Clamp the remaining lead wire in the electrical box. Close the electrical box cover with 2 screws.


How do I install the 3D i-see Sensor corner panel on the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-EP-NEMU-E1?

Standard position and position ① installation:
1. Take the lead wires CN4Z (white, 4-pole) and CN5Y (white, 5-pole) of the 3D i-see Sensor corner panel from the side of the unit’s electrical box and connect them to the controller board connector.

3. Put the cover back on the electrical box with 3 screws.

Ensure that water is being properly drained out and that no water is leaking from joints.

When electric work is completed: Pour water during cooling operation and check.

When electric work is not completed: Pour water during emergency operation and check. The drain pan and fan are activated simultaneously when single phase 208/230V is turned on to L1 and L2 on the terminal block after the connector (SWE) on the controller board in the electrical branch box is set to ON. Be sure to turn it back to the former state after work.

Procedure:

1. Use a water supply pump to pour about 1000 cc (1/4 gal) of water through the outlet.

2. Be careful not to spray water into the drain pump mechanism.
