• Never repair the unit or transfer it to another site by yourself.

• When you notice exceptionally abnormal noise or vibration, stop operation, turn off the power switch, and contact your dealer.

• Never insert fingers, sticks etc. into the intakes or outlets.

• If you detect odd smells, stop using the unit, turn off the power switch and consult your dealer. Otherwise, a breakdown, electric shock or fire may result.

• This air conditioner is NOT intended for use by children or infirm persons without supervision.

• Young children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the air conditioner.

• If the refrigeration gas blows out or leaks, stop the operation of the air conditioner, thoroughly ventilate the room, and contact your dealer.

• When installing or relocating, or servicing the air conditioner, use only the specified refrigerant (R410A) to charge the refrigerant lines. Do not mix it with any other refrigerant and do not allow air to remain in the lines. If air is mixed with the refrigerant, it can cause abnormal high pressure in the refrigerant line, resulting in an explosion and other hazards. Using any other refrigerant will cause mechanical failure or system malfunction.

To prevent damage to your MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2, please follow these cautions:

• Do not use any sharp object to push the buttons, as this may damage the remote controller.

• Never block or cover the indoor or outdoor unit’s intakes or outlets.

Indoor Unit:

• Air intake: Where room air enters the unit.

• Filter: A long-life filter that requires cleaning indication after 2,500 hours.

The unit has 4 fan steps and an Auto with swing vane function.

Simple MA Remote Controller:

• ON/OFF lamp: Lights up in green when turned on, and blinks during startup and when an error occurs.

• ON/OFF button: Starts and stops the operation.

• Backlit LCD: Displays the current settings and status.

• TEMP. button (▲/▼): Adjusts the preset temperature.

• FAN button: Changes the fan speed.

• MODE button: Selects the operation mode (COOL, DRYING, FAN, etc.).

• VANE button: Adjusts the vane direction.

The icons on the remote controller display for the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2 indicate the following:

• CENTRAL icon: Appears when a local operation (ON/OFF, mode, temperature, fan speed, vane) is prohibited by a central controller.

To change the operation mode on your MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2, press the MODE button. This will cycle through the available modes in the following order:

COOL → DRYING → FAN → AUTO → SETBACK → HEAT

Note that not all functions are available on all models of indoor units. Functions that are not available will not appear on the display.

In AUTO (dual set point) mode on the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2, you can set separate preset temperatures for cooling and heating. In AUTO (dual set point) and SETBACK modes:

1. Press the TEMP. ▲ or TEMP. ▼ button. The preset temperature display (both cooling and heating) will start blinking.

2. While blinking, pressing TEMP. ▲ increases both temperatures, and TEMP. ▼ decreases both.

3. To set the cooling and heating temperatures individually, press the MODE button. Only the cooling preset temperature will blink.

4. Use the TEMP. ▲/▼ buttons to adjust the cooling preset temperature.

5. Press the MODE button again. Now, only the heating preset temperature will blink.

6. Use the TEMP. ▲/▼ buttons to adjust the heating preset temperature.

7. Press the MODE button a final time to complete the setting.

If no button is touched for a certain period during the setting process, the setting will automatically be confirmed and the display will stop blinking.

The available preset temperature ranges for your MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2 are as follows:

For AUTO (dual set point) and SETBACK modes, the cooling preset temperature must be greater than the heating preset temperature, and the difference between them must be equal to or greater than the minimum temperature difference required by the indoor unit model.

Pressing the FAN button will change the fan speed. You can cycle through the available speeds, which may include several manual speeds and an AUTO setting. The specific number of settable fan speeds varies depending on the indoor unit model. If the unit does not have a fan setting function, the fan icon will blink when the FAN button is pressed, and the speed cannot be changed.

Pressing the VANE button will switch the vane directions. You can cycle through several fixed positions (e.g., Setting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), an AUTO setting, and a Swing setting. The available vane directions depend on the indoor unit model. If the unit does not have a vane function, the vane icon will blink when the VANE button is pressed, and the direction cannot be changed.

You can restrict the preset temperature range for each operation mode by following these steps:

1. Press the ON/OFF button to stop the air conditioning unit.

2. Press and hold the FAN button for three seconds or longer. The temperature range restriction setting display will appear.

3. Press the MODE button to select one of the following options:
• A. No temperature range restriction.
• B. Temperature range restriction for COOL/DRYING mode.
• C. Temperature range restriction for HEAT mode.
• D. Temperature range restriction for AUTO (single set point) mode.

4. After selecting B, C, or D, press the FAN button to switch between setting the upper limit (Hi) and the lower limit (Lo).

5. Press the TEMP. ▲ or TEMP. ▼ button to set the desired upper or lower limit value.

6. Press and hold the FAN button for three seconds or longer to complete and save the setting.

After the restriction is set, if a user tries to select a temperature outside of the allowed range, the preset temperature display will blink.

Before cleaning your MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2, please observe these precautions:

• Before you start cleaning, stop the operation and turn OFF the power supply.

• Ask authorized people to clean the filter.

• When removing the filter, protect your eyes from dust. If you need to use a stool, be careful not to fall.

3. Release the knob on the center edge of the intake grille and pull the filter forward to remove it.

If your MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2 is not heating or cooling effectively, check the following as the unit is likely operating normally:

• Clean the filter. Airflow is reduced when the filter is dirty or clogged.

• Check the temperature adjustment and set it to your desired temperature.

• Ensure adequate space around the outdoor unit. Check if the indoor unit’s air intake or outlet is blocked.

• Check for open doors or windows, which can affect performance.

This is normal operation. Warm air will not blow until the indoor unit has sufficiently warmed up. This prevents cold drafts.

This is normal. When the outdoor temperature is low and the humidity is high, frost may form on the outdoor unit. If this happens, the unit performs a defrosting operation to remove the frost, temporarily stopping the heating. Normal operation should resume after approximately 10 minutes.

The unit may automatically adjust the airflow direction under certain conditions. This is normal operation.

• During cooling mode: The vanes automatically move to the horizontal position after 1 hour if a downward airflow direction was selected. This is to prevent water from condensing on and dripping from the vanes.

• During heating mode: The vanes automatically move to the horizontal airflow direction if the airflow temperature is low or during a defrosting cycle.

These sounds are normal and can be heard when refrigerant is flowing within the air conditioner or when the refrigerant flow is changing.

These sounds are normal and can be heard when parts rub against each other due to expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes.

This can be normal. The indoor unit draws in air that contains odors from walls, carpeting, furniture, and clothing, and then blows this air back into the room.

This is a normal occurrence under certain conditions:

• If the indoor temperature and humidity are high, this may happen when the cooling operation starts.

• During defrosting mode, cool airflow may blow down and appear like a mist.

This is normal operation and can be due to several reasons:

• During cooling mode, water may form and drip from the cool pipes and joints.

• During heating mode, water may form and drip from the heat exchanger.

• During defrosting mode, water on the heat exchanger evaporates, and water vapor may be emitted.

Try turning on the power switch. The power-on icon (“plug” symbol) should appear in the remote controller display. If the power switch is already on, check the power supply to the unit.

When “(CENTRAL)” appears on the display, it means the unit is under central control. In this state, the air conditioner operation cannot be started or stopped using the local remote controller.

This is a protective feature. The operation has stopped to protect the air conditioner’s components. Please wait approximately three minutes, and it should be able to restart.

This can be normal if the unit is connected to a central controller or if the auto-recovery feature after a power failure has been set.

• If the unit is connected to a central remote controller, consult the people who control the air conditioner.

• Check if “(CENTRAL)” appears on the remote controller display.

• If the auto recovery feature from power failures has been set, the unit may start automatically. Press the ON/OFF button to stop operation if desired.

When “HO” appears, it indicates that the initial settings are being performed. This is normal. Please wait approximately 3 minutes for the process to complete.

An error code indicates that the protection devices have operated to protect the air conditioner. Do not attempt to repair the equipment yourself. Turn off the power switch immediately and consult your dealer. Be sure to provide the dealer with the model name and the information (error code) that appeared on the remote controller display.

This is normal. When the cooling operation stops, the drain pump operates to remove condensed water and then stops. The process takes approximately 3 minutes.

The specified noise level is measured in an echo-free (anechoic) room. The actual indoor operation sound level is affected by the acoustics of the room where it is installed and will likely be higher than the noise specification. The table below shows typical noise level increases based on room type.

Using the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CITY MULTI PLFY-P30NBMU-E2 outside of the specified working temperatures and humidity can result in serious failure. The recommended operating ranges are:
