What is the difference between “Mevo Hotspot” and connecting to a Wi-Fi network on the MEVO START A30103A?
The MEVO START A30103A supports various ways of connecting to the internet for live streaming. The two main methods are:
Mevo Hotspot: This refers to the MEVO START A30103A’s ability to create its own wireless access point. Your mobile device can connect to this hotspot via its Wi-Fi settings. This provides a reliable, direct connection between the camera and your phone.
Connect to Wi-Fi: This means you configure your MEVO START A30103A to connect to the internet through a local Wi-Fi network. When using this connection type, streaming occurs via the Wi-Fi network itself, not your mobile device’s cellular data plan.
Can I switch between multiple MEVO START A30103A cameras?
The Mevo app currently supports controlling only one MEVO START A30103A camera at a time.
However, if you want the ability to switch between multiple Mevo cameras, you can integrate the MEVO START A30103A as a remote camera source in the Livestream Studio production switcher. This allows you to wirelessly connect your Mevo to Livestream Studio, enabling you to seamlessly switch between multiple cameras during a single event.
How long does the battery last on the MEVO START A30103A?
The battery life of the MEVO START A30103A can vary slightly depending on usage. Broadly speaking, the MEVO START A30103A by itself can stream or record for more than 4 hours on a full charge.
What is the operating temperature for the MEVO START A30103A?
MEVO START A30103A cameras can operate in a temperature range of 32°F to 95°F (0°C to 35°C). You may experience poor performance if the device is used outside of this range.

The MEVO START A30103A can attach to most standard microphone stands and tripods. It includes compatibility for the following thread types:
• 5/8″-27 Microphone Stand Thread (built-in)

It is designed to be close to the event, rather than at the back of a room like a traditional camera. The 84-degree diagonal Field of View allows it to capture a wide shot from a closer distance than most standard cameras, making it unobtrusive to on-site viewers.
How do I charge the battery for the MEVO START A30103A?

When a firmware update is available, the Mevo app will notify you when you first configure your connection to the MEVO START A30103A. Instead of a “Connect” button, you will see an “Update Firmware” button.
For best results, it is strongly recommended to connect to the Mevo’s hotspot rather than a Wi-Fi network when downloading and installing a new firmware update.
The LED on the camera will begin blinking, and the app will indicate the update’s progress through several stages: downloading the firmware to your device, uploading the firmware to the camera, and then the camera running the update. Once the update is complete, the camera will restart. Some firmware updates may be required to use the camera, while others are optional.
What should I do if the MEVO START A30103A firmware update fails?
If you encounter issues with a firmware update on your MEVO START A30103A, try the following troubleshooting suggestions:
• Keep both your mobile device and the camera close to each other. Ensure you are connected in hotspot mode, as this is a more reliable connection for updates.
• Avoid performing the update in areas with many wireless devices (multiple routers, access points, etc.), as these can cause interference.
• Perform a hard reboot on the camera by holding down the power button for 30 seconds, releasing it, and then powering the camera back on.
• On your mobile device, turn Airplane mode on, then turn it off again. This will reset the device’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.
• If you are unable to use your camera after a firmware update, try the Firmware Recovery tool.

What are the best practices for streaming with the MEVO START A30103A?
For a successful streaming experience with your MEVO START A30103A, consider the following tips:
• Upload Speed: Your network’s upload speed should ideally be around 5-10 Mbps. This provides enough bandwidth for high-quality streaming and accounts for fluctuations in connection speed.
• Dedicated Network: If possible, use a dedicated network. If you are on a shared Wi-Fi network, try to remove as many other devices (smartphones, computers) as possible to free up bandwidth.
• Firewalls: Turn off any firewalls on your network, which is a common issue in offices, schools, and hotels. For streaming to Livestream, ensure the following ports are open for incoming and outgoing communication: TCP 1935, TCP 80, TCP 443, and UDP 53.
• Test First: Always test your setup early and often. Run speed tests on your network to identify any potential connection issues before your event begins.
• Record a Backup: Always keep a microSD card inside your MEVO START A30103A to record a backup while you are streaming. If your internet connection fails, you will still have a local recording of your event that you can share later.
How do I control the audio settings on my MEVO START A30103A?
1. To adjust your audio source and levels, tap the “More Options” (•••) icon in the bottom right corner of the live edit view.
2. Tap the microphone icon to open the audio mixer.
3. By default, “Mevo” is selected, using the camera’s built-in microphone array. You can also select your mobile device (“iPhone” or “Phone”) to use an external audio source connected to it.
4. A levels monitor on the far right of the interface indicates how loud your audio is. A best practice is to have your audio levels peak about halfway to two-thirds of the way up the bar for clear, audible sound that is not too loud. Red flashing at the top indicates over-modulation (clipping), and you should lower the levels.
5. Use the audio slider running along the bottom of the screen to adjust your audio levels as needed.
6. You can toggle the live audio preview (to hear the audio through your device’s speakers) by tapping the speaker icon.
How do I use an external audio source with my MEVO START A30103A?
You can use an external audio source via your MEVO START A30103A’s 3.5mm input or USB-C port, or through your mobile device’s headphone port or lightning port.

2. Once connected to the Mevo app, tap the “More Options” (•••) icon in the bottom right corner of the live edit view.
3. Tap the microphone icon to open the Audio Mixer.
4. In the mixer, tap “iPhone” (or “Phone” on Android) to switch the audio source from the Mevo’s internal mic to your external device. If no device is connected to your phone, its built-in microphone will be used instead.
5. You will see your audio levels in the green bars on the right. Adjust the gain using the slider at the bottom.
6. It is recommended to mute the audio output on the app by tapping the speaker icon to avoid an echo in your stream or recording.
What is Echo Suppression and how do I enable it for my MEVO START A30103A?

3. Scroll down to find “Echo Suppression”.
4. Tap the switch to enable it, then close the settings.

• If you are streaming via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, your stream will remain active if you take a call, but you cannot open the Mevo app until the call ends.
• Please note: If you are using an audio source connected to your iOS device via the headphone jack or lightning port, the audio on your stream will be muted until the call ends. Audio from the Mevo’s internal microphones or a USB source will not be affected.
