How do I install the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804?
To install the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804, follow these steps:
1. Before opening the unit, be sure to position the mirror as shown in figure 1 of the user guide. Failure to do this can result in damage to the mirror.
2. Remove the 4 knurled screws as shown in figure 2 of the user guide and pull out the chassis as shown in figure 3. The lamp can now be installed. On the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804, the desired gobo can be selected by turning the gobo wheel.
3. Check the mains voltage on the power supply board. The correct settings are:
• USA/Canada: 110 / 115 / 120V – 60 Hz.
• Europe: 220 / 230 / 240V – 50 Hz.
4. If the lamp-life is shorter than expected, you can set the voltage to a higher value. This reduces the voltage applied to the lamp.
5. Push the chassis back into place and tighten the screws.
6. Mount the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804, without fully tightening the clamps.
7. Remove the transport fixture from the mirror.
How do I connect the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804 to a controller?
To connect the serial transmission link for operating with a controller, follow these steps:
• Connect the MARTIN ROBOSCAN 804, or the first unit in the link, to the controller, using the 10 metre XLR/XLR or XLR/Dsub cable which came with the controller.
• The cable supplied with the RoboScan is used to interconnect the units in the link. A standard balanced microphone cable can be used as an extension if necessary.
• The units should be connected together in an order which gives the minimum cable length. This order has no influence on the address as far as the controller is concerned.
• The termination plug which came with the controller is plugged into the unused XLR socket on the last unit on the link.
