Follow these steps to set up your MAGIC CHEF MCSTCW30W4 washer:

1. Remove Packaging: Remove the packing box, foam, and bottom cardboard piece. Open the washer door and remove all accessories from the drum. Do not use the washer on the foam packaging base.

2. Install Bottom Cover: Carefully lay the machine down. Slide the noise-proof plate (bottom cover) into the slots on the bottom surface of the unit and attach it with the provided mounting screw.

3. Position the Washer: Move the empty washer by tipping it back about 60°-70° to roll on the rear casters. Install the washer on a level, solid floor that can support its weight, and where it will not be exposed to freezing temperatures or outdoor weather. Ensure the power plug, water inlets, and drain are easily accessible.

The washer must be leveled before use. You can check if it’s level by observing the tub’s position or using a bubble level.

1. Slide the washer into its final position.

2. Open the lid and pour water into the tub until it is just below the pulsator level.

3. If the washer is level, the pulsator will be positioned in the center of the washer. If it is not, level your washer by turning the front leveling feet clockwise or counterclockwise as needed until the pulsator is centered.

For the MAGIC CHEF MCSTCW30W4, water pressure of 14-70 p.s.i. is required, and the faucet must be within 4 feet of the water inlets.

1. Connect Hoses to Faucets: Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the HOT and COLD faucets. For convenience with a single faucet (like a kitchen sink), you may use the included Quick Connection Adaptor for the cold water line.

2. Tighten Fittings: Tighten the fittings by hand until they are snug, then tighten an additional two-thirds of a turn with a wrench. Do not over-tighten or use tape/sealant, as this can damage the fittings.

3. Flush Hoses: Before connecting to the washer, run water through the hoses for 10-15 seconds into a bucket to clear any debris.

4. Connect Hoses to Washer: Connect the ends of the water supply hoses to the water supply intake connections on the back of the washer. The hose from the HOT faucet must connect to the hot water supply intake, and the hose from the COLD faucet must connect to the cold water supply intake.

5. Check for Leaks: Turn on the water and check for any leaks. Ensure the hoses are not twisted or bent.

Note: To ensure correct water usage, connect both the HOT and COLD water faucets. If you do not want to use the hot water supply hose or can only connect to one faucet, install the water intake cap into the HOT water supply intake hole. In this case, you must select Cold water as the wash temperature.

The drain hose can be positioned in one of three ways. The recommended height is 35 inches (90 cm) and should not exceed 39 inches. The washer should be within 5 feet of the drain.

a. Over the edge of a sink: Secure the guide to the side of the basin wall with a hook or to the tap with string or a zip tie to prevent the hose from moving.

b. In a standpipe: The standpipe must be between 32 inches (81 cm) and 39 inches (100 cm) in height. The pipe’s diameter must be large enough to easily accept the drain hose.

c. In a laundry tub: The laundry tub must be between 32 inches (81 cm) and 39 inches (100 cm) in height.

Note: The connection between the drain hose and the sink, pipe, or tub should not be airtight.

1. Plug in the washer.

2. Load about 5 lbs. of laundry.

3. Press the “Power” button to turn on the washer.

4. Select the “Rinse & Spin” cycle by pressing the “Function” button until the indicator lights for “Rinse” and “Spin” are on, then press the “Start/Pause” button.

5. The washer should not rock or vibrate excessively during water supply, washing, or spinning, and it should drain well during the spin cycle.

If water leaks, check the water connections. If the washer rocks and vibrates excessively, re-level the washer.

a. ON/OFF: Press once to turn the power ON. Press again to turn OFF.

b. START/PAUSE: Press to start the wash cycle. Press during operation to pause the cycle, and press again to continue.

c. Digital Display: Shows the estimated minutes remaining for the cycle. If Delay Start is set, it counts down the hours until the cycle begins.

d. Function: Press to select the cycle steps (Soak, Wash, Rinse, Spin). The light indicates the selected step.

e. Delay: Press to set a delayed start time for the washer (1-24 hours).

f. Load Size: Press to set the washing load size (Small, Medium, Large), which determines the water level.

g. Temperature: Press to select the water temperature for washing (Cold, Warm, Hot).

h. Program: Press to select the desired wash program. A lit light indicates Normal, Heavy, or Delicate. A flashing light indicates Quick, Bulky, or Spin Only.

i. Extra Rinse: Press to add an additional rinse cycle.

j. Control Lock: Press and hold the “Temp” and “Program” buttons simultaneously to lock the control panel.

1. TURN ON THE WASHER: Press the “ON/OFF” button to power on the unit.

2. LOAD THE WASHER: Sort laundry by fabric and color and place it in the washer. Do not load the tub more than 3/4 full. Remove all items from pockets.

3. ADD DETERGENT: This washer is for high efficiency (HE) detergent. Pull out the detergent compartment and add the recommended amount. The normal amount is 1/4 to 1/2 of the maximum recommended by the detergent manufacturer. Never pour liquid bleach directly onto the load.

4. SELECT WASH CYCLE: Press the “Program” button to select the desired wash program (e.g., Normal).

5. SELECT LOAD SIZE: Press the “Load Size” button to select the water level (Large, Medium, or Small).

6. SELECT FUNCTIONS: Press the “Function” button to set the desired wash steps (Soak, Wash, Rinse, Spin). The default setting includes all steps.

7. SELECT WATER TEMPERATURE: Press the “TEMP.” button to select the desired water temperature (Hot, Warm, or Cold).

8. START THE CYCLE: Press the “START/PAUSE” button to begin the wash cycle. The estimated time will show on the digital display.

The Delay Start function allows you to delay the start of the wash cycle from 1 to 24 hours.

1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the washer ON.

2. Properly hang the drain hose and turn on the water tap.

3. Load the laundry and detergent in the washer.

4. Select the appropriate water level, program, and functions.

5. Press the “Delay” button to set the number of hours (in 1-hour increments) to delay the start of the wash cycle.

6. Close the lid and press the “Start/Pause” button.

Once activated, the Delay indicator light will flash. To cancel the Delay setting, press the ON/OFF button. If you want to cancel the function after it has started, power the unit off and reset all functions before restarting.

To prevent children from changing the settings, press and hold the “Temp” and “Program” buttons simultaneously to activate the Control Lock function. The digital display will show “CL”. When Control Lock is activated, no buttons will function except for the “POWER” button and the ability to deactivate the lock by pressing and holding the “Temp” and “Program” buttons again.

Notes:

• “Normal” program is the most suitable program for soiled cotton or linen clothes and is the most efficient in terms of combined energy and water consumption.

• The Normal cycle on Large load size with cold water has a much longer spin time (28 minutes) to remove more water, providing energy savings when drying clothes.

• Hot and warm water temperatures are the same when using Normal. For a higher temperature wash, use a different program.

Cleaning the Exterior:
Use a soft cloth to wipe off any water and dirt residue from the surface after every use. Do not use detergents, propellants, or other chemicals, and do not spray the washer with water.

Cleaning the Interior:
Clean the interior periodically to remove dirt, odor, mold, or bacterial residue. To clean the tub, run the Quick cycle with some bleach once every month. Use cleaners labeled “Washer safe” to remove hard water deposits if needed.

Cleaning the Filters:

• Lint Filter: It is suggested to clean the built-in lint filter every 10 cycles or as needed. To clean, remove the filter from inside the washer tub, clean it with water, and then place it back into the washer.

• Pump Filter: It is suggested to clean the built-in pump filter every 10 cycles or as needed. To clean it, remove the filter from the bottom rear of the washer, clean it with water, and then place it back into the washer.

A thumping sound with heavy wash loads can be normal. However, if the sound continues or there is vibration, check the following:

• Unbalanced Load: The washer load may be out of balance or unevenly distributed. Pause the cycle and redistribute the clothes in the tub.

• Packaging Materials: Ensure all packing materials have been removed from the washer.

• Leveling: Check that all leveling feet are resting firmly and evenly on the floor. See “Leveling the Washer” in the installation instructions.

• Floor Stability: The floor may not be rigid enough. Make sure the floor is solid and does not flex.

If your washer is leaking, check these possible causes:

• Hose Connections: The water inlet hose connection may be loose at the faucet or the washer. Check hoses for leaks, cracks, and splits, and tighten all connections.

• House Drain Clogged: Check for water backing up out of the drain pipe during a drain cycle. If this occurs, check for proper drain hose installation and restrictions. You may need to contact a plumber.

• Drain Hose Position: The drain hose may have come out of the drain or is not inserted far enough. Secure the drain hose to prevent it from coming out. For smaller pipes, insert the hose as far as the flange; for larger pipes, insert it 1-2 inches past the flange.

• Overloaded Tub: A large item might be above the top of the tub. Pause the cycle and check the load to ensure nothing is above the tub’s edge.

• Excessive Suds: Using too much or the wrong type of detergent can cause leaks. Use only High-Efficiency (HE) detergent and use only 1/4 to 1/2 of the maximum recommended amount. Reduce the amount for small loads or soft water.

If your washer does not operate, please check the following:

• Power Cord: Make sure the power cord is properly and securely plugged into a working, grounded outlet.

• Circuit Breaker/Fuse: A house fuse may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse. If the problem is a circuit overload, have it corrected by a qualified electrician.

• Lid is Open: The washer will not operate if the lid is open. Close the lid and make sure nothing is preventing it from closing completely.

• Controls Not Set: Ensure the cycle was set correctly, the lid is closed, and the START/PAUSE button was pressed.

• START/PAUSE Not Pressed: The washer will shut off if the START/PAUSE button is not pressed within ten minutes of setting a cycle. Press the POWER button, re-select the cycle, and press START/PAUSE.

• Inactivity: The control panel may have powered off due to inactivity. This is normal. Press the POWER button to turn the washer back on.

• Delay Start: The washer may be in a Delay Start program. It is normal for it not to operate until the delay time is over.

• Water Supply: Check that both hot and cold water faucets are turned on fully.

• Too Cold: If the washer was exposed to freezing temperatures, allow it to warm up before pressing the POWER button.

If the washer is not filling correctly, check these points:

• Lid is Open: The washer will not fill if the lid is open. Close the lid securely.

• Water Supply: Make sure both hot and cold water faucets are turned on all the way.

• Inlet Hoses: Check that the inlet hoses are not kinked or clogged.

• Hose Connections Reversed: Check that the hot water supply is connected to the hot inlet valve and the cold water supply is connected to the cold inlet valve.

• Filter Clogged: Disassemble the water inlet hose and clean the inlet point filter.

• Low Water Pressure: Check another faucet in the house to ensure household water pressure is adequate.

• Water Level is Too Low: This is a high-efficiency washer. The water will not normally cover the clothes. The fill level is optimized for the best wash performance and this is normal.

If your washer fails to drain, please verify the following:

• Kinked Drain Hose: Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or bent.

• Drain Hose Height: Ensure the drain hose is no higher than 39 inches above the bottom of the washer and no more than 5 feet away from the washer.
