The LEGRAND SANUS VDMF20 is designed for a maximum weight limit of 55 lbs. (24.9 kg) including accessories. Do not exceed this weight limit as it may cause the mount to fail, potentially resulting in property damage or personal injury.

Additional safety precautions include:

1. The product is designed ONLY to be installed into wood studs, solid concrete, or concrete block.

2. DO NOT install into drywall alone. Drywall will not hold the weight of the TV.

3. This product is for indoor use only.

4. The wall must be capable of supporting five times the weight of the TV and mount combined.

5. Do not use this product for any purpose not explicitly specified by the manufacturer.

The LEGRAND SANUS VDMF20 is compatible with the following wall constructions:

1. Wood Studs: Must use nominal 2 x 4 inch studs (actual 1.5 x 3.5 inches). Drywall covering the wall must not exceed 5/8 inch (1.5 cm).

2. Solid Concrete: Minimum thickness must be 8 inches (20.3 cm).

3. Concrete Block: Minimum block size must be 8 x 8 x 16 inches (20.3 x 20.3 x 40.6 cm).

The following tools are required for installation:

1. General Tools: Tape measure, pencil, level, tape, Phillips head screwdriver, electric drill, and a 7/16 inch (11 mm) socket wrench.

2. Wood Stud Installation: Stud finder, awl, and a 1/8 inch (3 mm) wood drill bit.

3. Concrete Installation: Hammer and a 3/8 inch (10 mm) concrete drill bit.

Before beginning the installation process, follow these steps:

1. Remove the stand from your TV if it is currently attached.

2. Install any purchased accessories that require the TV to be removed from the wall.

3. Protect the face of your TV by laying it down on a soft, clean surface.

The LEGRAND SANUS VDMF20 includes several screw sizes (M4, M6, and M8), but only one size will fit your TV. Hand-thread the screws into the threaded inserts on the back of your TV to determine the correct diameter.

Selection Guidelines:

1. No Spacer (Flat Back TV): Use short TV screws and washers. The TV brackets should lay flat on your TV.

2. Spacer Needed (Flat Back with Extra Space): Use long TV screws and spacers to provide room for deep inset holes or cable interference.

3. Spacer Needed (Rounded or Irregular Back TV): Use long TV screws and spacers. The brackets will not rest flat on the TV surface without spacers.

Caution: Ensure adequate thread engagement. Screws that are too short will not hold the TV, and screws that are too long will damage the TV.

Measure the width (W) and height (H) of the mounting hole pattern on the back of your TV. Adjust the horizontal bracket (06) to match the width measurement using the following reference table:

For the height assembly:

1. If the height (H) is 200 mm or less, assemble the horizontal brackets to the vertical bracket in the configuration shown for shorter heights.

2. If the height (H) is greater than 200 mm, use the extended height assembly configuration.

1. Locate: Use a stud finder to find the center of the wood stud.

2. Verify: Use an awl or thin nail to verify the center of the stud.

3. Mark: Mark the center of the stud at the desired height.

4. Position Template: Level the wall plate template (07) and mark the two pilot hole locations.

5. Drill: Drill two pilot holes using a 1/8 inch (3 mm) drill bit to a depth of 2 3/4 inches (7 cm). Ensure you drill into the center of the stud.

6. Remove Covers: Snap off the plastic covers (P) from the arm assembly (08).

7. Securely Tighten: Attach the arm assembly using two lag bolts (09) and two washers (10). Both lag bolts must be firmly tightened.

8. Insert Covers: Replace the plastic covers (P) onto the wall plate.

1. Position Template: Level the wall plate template (07) directly on the concrete surface and mark the two hole locations.

2. Drill: Drill two holes using a 3/8 inch (10 mm) concrete drill bit to a depth of 3 inches (7.5 cm). Never drill into the mortar between blocks.

3. Insert Anchors: Tap the concrete anchors (11) into the holes. They must be seated flush with the concrete surface.

4. Remove Covers: Snap off the plastic covers (P) from the arm assembly (08).

5. Securely Tighten: Attach the arm assembly using two lag bolts (09) and two washers (10). Both lag bolts must be firmly tightened.

6. Insert Covers: Replace the plastic covers (P) onto the wall plate.

1. Hang Your TV: With the help of an assistant, lift the TV and hook the vertical bracket (04) onto the end of the arm assembly (08).

2. Attach: Ensure the bracket is fully seated. You should hear an audible click when it engages.

3. Securely Tighten: Install and tighten the securement screw (12) using the hex key (14). This ensures the TV is safely fastened to the arm assembly.

Level Adjustment:

1. Loosen the securement screw (12) slightly using the hex key (14).

2. Turn the leveling screw (L) with a screwdriver to adjust the horizontal angle of the TV.

3. Retighten the securement screw (12) when finished.

Tilt Adjustment:

1. Your TV should stay in place when moved. If it naturally tilts up or down, adjust the tilt tension knobs (T).

2. If you want to lock the tilt for a specific viewing location, use the hex key (14) to tighten the tilt tension knobs more firmly.

If needed, you can adjust the arm tension for extending or retracting the TV.

1. Locate the tension screws (E) on the arm joints.

2. Use the provided 5/32 inch hex key (13) to turn the screws.

3. Caution: Do not remove the screws (E); only turn them enough to provide slight adjustment for smoother movement.

Removing the TV is a heavy task and may require assistance. Follow these steps:

1. Disconnect all cables from the back of the TV.

2. Remove the securement screw (12) using the hex key (14).

3. Pull down on the release cord (R) to unlock the TV from the mount.

4. Carefully lift the TV upward and away from the arm assembly (08).
