Before using the BIOLOGIX OXISTAR SENSOR BX1, please observe the following safety instructions:

Substances containing dyes that alter blood pigmentation may result in inaccurate readings.

Clinical conditions such as hypothermia, vasoconstriction, peripheral vascular disease, and anemia may affect measurements.

The device may not function properly on extremely cold fingers due to low blood perfusion. A Perfusion Index (PI) over 1% is recommended.

Do not apply the hypoallergenic tape too tightly, as it may impair blood circulation.

Avoid excessive finger movement during measurement to prevent inaccurate readings.

Do not use the sensor near intense light sources, as this may interfere with signal processing.

The BIOLOGIX OXISTAR SENSOR BX1 is a pulse oximeter that measures blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) non-invasively based on the Beer-Lambert Law. It detects the difference in absorption of red and infrared light by oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin.

The device calculates the pulse rate by analyzing light absorption variations during the cardiac cycle: red light is absorbed more during systole, while infrared light is absorbed more during diastole.

The sensor also includes an actimeter that records movements through an internal accelerometer along three axes (X, Y, and Z). Data is stored internally and transmitted to a connected mobile device every five minutes.

Follow these steps to operate the BIOLOGIX OXISTAR SENSOR BX1:

Step 1. Fully charge the internal battery before first use. While charging, the red LED remains on. When fully charged, the red LED turns off and the green LED turns on.

Step 2. After charging, place the sensor on the middle finger (thumb or pinky are not recommended) with the LEDs facing the palm. The device turns on automatically upon detecting the finger, and the blue LED will begin blinking once per second. Ensure nails are short and free of polish.

Step 3. Secure the sensor to the finger using a piece of hypoallergenic tape over the protruding part. Avoid excessive pressure.

Step 4. Open the mobile application and start the test when the blue light begins to blink.

Step 5. Once the app connects via Bluetooth, the sensor will start blinking green.

Step 6. The test should last at least 4 hours. It is recommended not to exceed 12 hours.

Step 7. If necessary, you may remove the sensor during the test for up to 30 minutes without the test ending prematurely.

Step 8. Upon waking, finish the test in the application. Remove the sensor and store it properly.

The BIOLOGIX OXISTAR SENSOR BX1 is a reusable device. Sterilization is recommended every three uses:

Clean the exterior area of the sensor with a 70% alcohol wipe.

Do not immerse any part of the sensor in liquid.

Clean the hypoallergenic tape area using an adhesive remover on a damp towel.

Ensure the device is fully dry before reuse.

Do not use abrasive materials, acetone, or acetone-based products.

Do not sterilize the device using an autoclave or gas.

Dispose of the BIOLOGIX OXISTAR SENSOR BX1 responsibly by keeping it separate from household trash. The internal battery is considered hazardous waste.
