You can perform basic operations using the faceplate of your KENWOOD KDC-BT360U.

Turn on the power: Press the SRC button.

Turn off the power: Press and hold the SRC button.

Adjust the volume: Turn the volume knob.

Select a source: Press the SRC button repeatedly. Alternatively, press the SRC button once, then turn the volume knob within 2 seconds to select a source.

Change the display information: Press the DISP button repeatedly. You can also turn off the display information by pressing DISP repeatedly.

To reset your KENWOOD KDC-BT360U, you must first detach the faceplate. Then, using a pointed object, press the reset button located on the unit. You must reset the unit within 5 seconds of detaching the faceplate.

When you turn on the power for the first time or after a factory reset, you need to set the display language and cancel the demonstration mode.

1. The display shows: “SEL LANGUAGE” → “PRESS” → “VOLUME KNOB”.

2. Turn the volume knob to select [ENG] (English) / [SPA] (Spanish) / [FRE] (French), then press the knob. [ENG] is selected for the initial setup.

3. The display then shows: “CANCEL DEMO” → “PRESS” → “VOLUME KNOB”.

4. Press the volume knob again. [YES] is selected for the initial setup.

5. Press the volume knob again. “DEMO OFF” appears, and the demonstration mode is canceled.

Follow these steps to set the clock and date:

1. Press the volume knob to enter the [FUNCTION] menu.

2. Turn the volume knob to select [CLOCK], then press the knob.

To adjust the clock:

3. Turn the volume knob to select [CLOCK ADJUST], then press the knob.

4. Turn the volume knob to make the settings, then press the knob. Set the time in the order of “Hour” → “Minute”.

5. To set the format, turn the volume knob to select [CLOCK FORMAT], then press the knob.

6. Turn the volume knob to select [12H] or [24H], then press the knob.

To set the date:

7. Turn the volume knob to select [DATE FORMAT], then press the knob.

8. Turn the volume knob to select [DD/MM/YY] or [MM/DD/YY], then press the knob.

9. Turn the volume knob to select [DATE SET], then press the knob.

10. Turn the volume knob to make the settings, then press the knob. Set the date in the order of “Day” → “Month” → “Year” or “Month” → “Day” → “Year”.

11. Press and hold the back button (marked with a curved arrow) to exit.

You can only set the following items while the unit is in STANDBY source.

1. Press SRC repeatedly to enter STANDBY.

2. Press the volume knob to enter [FUNCTION].

3. Turn the volume knob to select an item from the table below, then press the knob.

4. Repeat step 3 until the desired item is selected or activated.

5. Press and hold the back button to exit.

[CD READ]	CD Read Setting	[1]: Automatically distinguishes between audio file disc and music CD. [2]: Forces to play as a music CD. No sound can be heard if an audio file disc is played.
[F/W UPDATE]	[F/W UP xxxx]	[YES]: Starts upgrading the firmware. [NO]: Cancels.
[FACTORY RESET]	Factory Reset	[YES]: Resets the settings to default (except the stored station). [NO]: Cancels.
[ENGLISH]	Language Setting	Select the display language for [FUNCTION] menu and music information if applicable. By default, [ENGLISH] is selected. Other options are [ESPANOL] and [FRANCAIS].

Search for a station:

1. Press SRC repeatedly to select RADIO.

2. Press BAND repeatedly to select FM1/FM2/FM3/AM.

3. Press the seek buttons (◄◄/►►I) to search for a station.

Store and select stations:

You can store up to 18 stations for FM and 6 stations for AM.

To store a station: Press and hold one of the number buttons (1 to 6).

To select a stored station: Press one of the number buttons (1 to 6).

1. With the RADIO source active, press the volume knob to enter [FUNCTION].

2. Turn the volume knob to select an item, then press the knob.

3. Repeat step 2 until the desired item is selected/activated.

4. Press and hold the back button to exit.

[SEEK MODE]	Selects the searching method for the seek buttons. [AUTO1]: Automatically search for a station. [AUTO2]: Search for a preset station. [MANUAL]: Manually search for a station.
[AUTO MEMORY]	[YES]: Automatically starts memorizing 6 stations with good reception. [NO]: Cancels. (Selectable only if [NORMAL] is selected for [PRESET TYPE]).
[MONO SET]	[ON]: Improves the FM reception, but the stereo effect will be lost. [OFF]: Cancels.
[TI]	[ON]: Allows the unit to temporarily switch to Traffic Information if available (“TI” indicator lights up). [OFF]: Cancels.
[PTY SEARCH]	Select the available Program Type, then press seek (►►I) to start.
[TIME SYNC]	[ON]: Synchronizes the unit’s time to the Radio Broadcast Data System station time. [OFF]: Cancels.

Insert a disc:

Insert a disc with the label side facing up into the loading slot. The source changes to CD automatically and playback starts.

Connect a USB device:

Connect a USB storage device to the USB input terminal on the front of the unit. The source changes to USB automatically and playback starts.

Connect an iPod/iPhone:

Connect your iPod/iPhone to the USB input terminal using a compatible cable. The source changes to iPod USB automatically and playback starts. You can also connect your iPod/iPhone via Bluetooth.

From a folder or list (CD/USB/iPod):

1. Press the Search button (magnifying glass icon).

2. Turn the volume knob to select a folder/list, then press the knob.

3. Turn the volume knob to select a file, then press the knob. Playback starts.

Quick search (CD/USB only):

If you have many files, you can search through them quickly.

1. Press the Search button.

2. Turn the volume knob to select a folder/list, then press the knob.

3. Turn the volume knob quickly to browse through the list quickly.

4. Turn the volume knob to select a file, then press the knob. Playback starts.

Preparation:

1. Install the latest version of the Pandora or Spotify app on your device (iPhone/iPod touch or Android).

2. Create an account and log in to the service.

3. Enable the respective source in the [SOURCE SELECT] menu of your KENWOOD KDC-BT360U. ([PANDORA SRC] or [SPOTIFY SRC] set to [ON]).

Start listening:

1. Start up the Pandora or Spotify application on your device.

2. Connect your device to the unit via USB input terminal (iPhone/iPod touch only) or Bluetooth.

3. Press SRC repeatedly to select PANDORA, PANDORA BT, SPOTIFY, or SPOTIFY BT. Broadcast starts automatically.

1. Press SRC to turn on the unit.

2. On your Bluetooth device, search for and select “KENWOOD KDC-BT360U”.

3. “PAIRING” → “PASS XXXXXX” → “Device name” → “PRESS” → “VOLUME KNOB” appears on the display. For some devices, you may need to enter the PIN code immediately after searching.

4. Press the volume knob to start pairing. “PAIRING OK” appears when pairing is completed.

Once pairing is complete, the Bluetooth connection is established automatically. The “BT1” and/or “BT2” indicator on the display window will light up.

Note: A maximum of two Bluetooth phones and one Bluetooth audio device can be connected at any time. Some devices may not connect automatically after pairing and require manual connection from the device itself.

You can manage calls directly from the faceplate once your phone is connected via Bluetooth.

1. Press the phone button to enter Bluetooth mode.

2. Turn the volume knob to select a calling method: [CALL HISTORY], [PHONE BOOK], or [NUMBER DIAL]. Then press the knob.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts:

For [CALL HISTORY]: Turn the knob to select a name or number, then press the knob to call.

For [PHONE BOOK]: Turn the knob quickly to enter alphabet search. Select a letter, then a name, then a phone number, and press the knob to call.

For [NUMBER DIAL]: Turn the knob to select a number (0-9) or character (*, #, +). Press the seek buttons to move the entry position. Repeat until the number is entered, then press the knob to call.

For [VOICE]: If your phone supports it, press and hold the phone button to activate voice recognition, then speak the name of the contact you want to call.

1. Press SRC repeatedly to select BT AUDIO. Alternatively, pressing the phone button also enters BT AUDIO directly.

2. Operate the audio player via Bluetooth on your connected device to start playback.

You can control playback using the unit’s buttons:

Play/Pause: Press 6 ►II.

Select group/folder: Press 2 ∧ / 1 ∨.

Reverse/Forward skip: Press ◄◄ / ►►I.

Reverse/Fast-forward: Press and hold ◄◄ / ►►I.

Preparation:

1. Create an account at amazon.com or use the Alexa mobile app.

2. Install the latest version of the Alexa mobile app on your device and log in.

3. Ensure your smartphone has an internet connection.

First-time Setup:

1. Pair your device with the KENWOOD KDC-BT360U via Bluetooth.

2. Start the Alexa mobile app on your device.

3. In the SETUP section of the Alexa app, search for and select “KENWOOD KDC-BT360U” to complete the one-time setup process.

Basic Operations:

1. Once the Alexa connection is established, press the Alexa button (O) on the unit to speak with Alexa. The display shows: “ALEXA” → “LISTENING…”.

2. Communicate with Alexa via the connected microphone. “THINKING…” appears while Alexa processes, and “SPEAKING…” appears while Alexa responds.

During music playback in the ALEXA source, you can press 6 (►II) to play/pause and the seek buttons to skip tracks.

1. Press the volume knob to enter the [FUNCTION] menu.

2. Turn the volume knob to select an item, then press the knob.

3. Repeat step 2 until the desired item is selected or activated.

4. Press and hold the back button to exit.

Below is a list of available audio settings. Note that some settings are source-dependent.

	[STAGE EQ]	[LOW]/[MID]/[HI]: Virtually adjusts the sound position. [OFF]: Cancels.
	[DRIVE EQ]	[ON]: Boosts frequency to reduce noise from outside the car. [OFF]: Cancels.
[AUDIO CONTROL]	[BASS BOOST]	[LV1] to [LV5] or [OFF]: Selects your preferred bass boost level.
	[LOUDNESS]	[LV1]/[LV2] or [OFF]: Boosts low/high frequencies at low volume.
	[FADER]	[R15] to [F15]: Adjusts front/rear speaker balance. Default: [0].
	[BALANCE]	[L15] to [R15]: Adjusts left/right speaker balance. Default: [0].
[X’ OVER]	Crossover Settings	Configure High Pass Filter (HPF) and Low Pass Filter (LPF) frequencies, slopes, and gains for front, rear, and subwoofer speakers.
[CAR SETTINGS]	Car Type Settings	The following item is selectable only if [SWITCH PREOUT] is set to [SUB-W]: [SUB-W LEVEL], [SUBWOOFER SET], and more.

1. Press the volume knob to enter [FUNCTION].

2. Turn the volume knob to select [DISPLAY], then press the knob.

3. Turn the volume knob to select an item, then press the knob.

4. Adjust the setting as desired.

5. Press and hold the back button to exit.

[DIMMER]	[ON]/[OFF]: Turns the dimmer on or off. [DIMMER TIME]: Set the time to turn the dimmer on and off. Default is ON at 6:00 PM and OFF at 6:00 AM.
[BRIGHTNESS]	[DAY]/[NIGHT]: Select day or night. [LVL00] to [LVL31]: Set the brightness level for the selected zone.
[TEXT SCROLL]	[ONCE]: Scrolls the display information once. [AUTO]: Repeats scrolling at 5-second intervals. [OFF]: Cancels.
[DEMO MODE]	[ON]: Activates the display demonstration automatically if no operation is done for about 15 seconds. [OFF]: Deactivates.

Each time you press the DISP button, the display information changes. If information is unavailable, “NO TEXT” or “NO INFO” will appear. The display can also be turned off by pressing DISP repeatedly.

The available information cycles as follows for each source:

STANDBY: Source name/Clock → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

RADIO: Source name/Clock → Frequency → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

CD-DA: Source name/Clock → Disc title/Artist → Track title/Artist → Playing time → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV/FLAC: Source name/Clock → Song title/Artist → Album title/Artist → Folder name → File name → Playing time → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

iPod USB/iPod BT: Source name/Clock → Song title/Artist → Album title/Artist → Playing time → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

PANDORA/PANDORA BT: Source name/Clock → Station name → Shared/Radio → Title → Artist → Album title → Playing time → Clock → back to the beginning

SPOTIFY/SPOTIFY BT: Source name/Clock → Context title → Song title → Artist → Album title → Playing time → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

BT AUDIO/ALEXA: Source name/Clock → Song title/Artist → Album title/Artist → Playing time → Clock → Turns off the display → back to the beginning

Here are some common issues and their solutions for your KENWOOD KDC-BT360U.

Symptom	Remedy
General
Sound cannot be heard.	Adjust the volume to the optimum level. Check the cords and connections.
“MISWIRING CHECK WIRING THEN PWR ON” appears.	Turn the power off, then check to be sure the terminals of the speaker wires are insulated properly. Turn the power on again.
The unit does not work at all.	Reset the unit.
Source cannot be selected.	Check the [SOURCE SELECT] setting.
CD/USB/iPod
Disc cannot be ejected.	Press and hold the eject button to forcibly eject the disc. If this does not solve the problem, reset the unit.
“READING” keeps flashing.	Do not use too many hierarchical levels and folders. Reload the disc or reattach the device.
“UNSUPPORTED DEVICE” appears.	Check if the connected USB device is compatible and formatted correctly. Reattach the USB device.
Pandora/Spotify
“CONNECT ERROR” (Pandora)	Communication is unstable.
“CHECK APP” (Spotify)	The Spotify application is not connected properly or the user is not logged in. End the Spotify application and restart, then log in.
Bluetooth
No Bluetooth device is detected.	Search from the Bluetooth device again. Reset the unit.
Bluetooth pairing cannot be made.	Make sure you have entered the same PIN code on both devices. Delete pairing information from both devices and perform pairing again.
Echo or noise is heard during a phone conversation.	Adjust the microphone unit’s position. Check the [ECHO CANCEL] setting.
Phone sound quality is poor.	Reduce the distance between the unit and the Bluetooth device. Move the car to a place with better signal reception.
Amazon Alexa
No response from Alexa after the voice input.	Amazon cloud was unable to analyze the voice input.
“DISCONNECTED”	Be sure to connect your smartphone to the unit via Bluetooth.
Not able to connect or reconnect to Alexa mobile application.	Be sure the audio device is connected via Bluetooth. Select the audio device from [AUDIO SELECT] in [BT MODE]. Perform the one-time setup process again. Turn the unit off, then on again and try to connect.
