What are the main safety warnings for the JOYCRAFT EST-100?

Please familiarise yourself carefully with the instructions for use before commissioning and keep them in a safe place.

The surfaces of the appliance become hot during operation, depending on how it is used. Be careful to touch the appliance only by the handles or the control knob, otherwise there is a risk of burns. Never transport the appliance during use, but always allow it to cool down before moving it.

Only connect the appliance to AC power sources with the correct voltage as indicated on the safety label on the appliance.

The appliance must not be operated if the mains cable is damaged, if the appliance shows visible signs of damage, if the appliance has been dropped or if moisture may have reached the electrical components. If in doubt, have the unit checked by a service centre.

Ensure that persons, including children, who are unable to use the appliance safely due to their physical, sensory or mental capabilities or their inexperience or lack of knowledge, do not use the appliance without supervision or instruction by a responsible person.

Children must be kept in mind to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Do not leave the appliance unattended when the mains plug is plugged in and the heating function is switched on.

Unplug the appliance after use, before cleaning and in the event of any malfunction and never use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.

Only insert the plug into a suitable socket.

Do not use the cooker outdoors.

The mains cable must not touch hot parts of the appliance and must not hang over the table.

The appliance must not be used near gas flames or electrical appliances with an open heating coil or in a heated oven.

Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface with a safety distance of approx. 20 cm from wall surfaces or other objects.

Use for other purposes must be avoided.

Never immerse the unit in water and protect the supply line and electronics from moisture. There is a risk of electric shock.

Make sure that no flammable parts are touching or near the appliance. If the appliance catches fire, disconnect the mains plug immediately.

Packaging materials, e.g. foil, do not belong in children’s hands. There is a danger of suffocation.

No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by misuse or incorrect operation.

If the mains cable is or becomes damaged, it is essential that it is replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or by a qualified technician in order to avoid danger.

The appliance is to be used for normal household purposes only.

What should I do before using the JOYCRAFT EST-100 for the first time?

For hygienic reasons, the appliance should be “boiled” once before initial operation. Fill the pot with water, heat it to the maximum temperature for a few minutes and then empty the container.

What is the capacity of the JOYCRAFT EST-100 and are there any filling guidelines?

The soup warmer has a maximum capacity of 10 litres. To avoid overflowing during heating, the liquid level during filling must not exceed the maximum filling level marked on the inside of the appliance.

Why might the temperature of my JOYCRAFT EST-100 vary from the set value?

The temperature determination or display is always influenced by the ambient temperature and local conditions (e.g. altitude above sea level, air pressure, ambient temperature, etc.). The set value and the value measured with a thermometer may therefore vary slightly.

What should I be aware of regarding hot surfaces on the JOYCRAFT EST-100?

When handling the appliance, please be aware that hot surfaces on the appliance may result from heating. There is an additional warning sticker (symbol) on the appliance itself. Please observe this and do not remove it in order to avoid injuries due to scalding or burning.

How do I operate the JOYCRAFT EST-100 soup warmer?

The heating is done according to the water bath principle.

1. First remove the stainless steel soup container (4) from the pot housing.

2. Fill the inner aluminium container (5) with 0.6 litres of WATER. (a marking line for the max. filling quantity in the aluminium wall will help you).

3. Now insert the stainless steel container (4) and then pour the liquid (soup) you want to heat into this stainless steel container.

4. Now set the desired temperature at the front of the housing on the temperature control knob (Fig. 11 in the upper graphic) and start heating.

What should I do if the water level in the water bath decreases during use of the JOYCRAFT EST-100?

Due to evaporation, the amount of water in the water bath may decrease with longer use. If necessary, add more water to the aluminium container (Fig. 5). Be aware, however, that the stainless steel pot with your soup can be very hot and use kitchen gloves or a towel to avoid burns or scalds. Exercise caution.

How should I clean and care for my JOYCRAFT EST-100?

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the mains and wait until it has cooled down. Ideally, clean the inside surface of the appliance with a soft brush or damp cloth. Never use sharp or hard objects as there is a risk of scratching the surface. Then rub it with a dry cloth. The stainless steel soup insert (Fig. 4 in the above diagram) is dishwasher-safe. Please do not put the other parts in the dishwasher.
