Every ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP has been thoroughly tested and shipped in perfect operating condition. Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the carton appears to be damaged, carefully inspect your fixture for any damage and be sure all accessories necessary to operate the unit have arrived intact. In the case damage has been found or parts are missing, please contact customer support for further instructions. Do not return this unit to your dealer without first contacting customer support. Please recycle the shipping carton whenever possible.

For your own personal safety, please read and understand the user manual completely before you attempt to install or operate the ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP.

• To reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture.

• Do not spill water or other liquids into or on to your unit.

• Be sure that the local power outlet matches the required voltage for your unit.

• Do not attempt to operate this unit if the power cord has been frayed or broken.

• Do not attempt to remove or break off the ground prong from the electrical cord. This prong is used to reduce the risk of electrical shock and fire in case of an internal short.

• Disconnect from main power before making any type of connection.

• Do not remove the cover under any conditions. There are no user serviceable parts inside.

• Never operate this unit when its cover is removed.

• Always be sure to mount this unit in an area that will allow proper ventilation. Allow about 6” (15cm) between this device and a wall.

• Do not attempt to operate this unit if it becomes damaged.

• This unit is intended for indoor use only; use of this product outdoors voids all warranties.

• Always mount this unit in a safe and stable matter.

• Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.

• The fixture should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

• The fixture should be serviced by qualified service personnel when: A. Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance. B. The appliance has been exposed to rain or water. C. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance.

An IP rated lighting fixture is one which is commonly installed in outdoor environments and has been designed with an enclosure that effectively protects the ingress (entry) of external foreign objects such as dust and water. The International Protection (IP) rating system is commonly expressed as “IP” followed by two numbers (i.e. IP65) where the numbers define the degree of protection. The first digit (6) indicates the extent of protection against particles entering the fixture (dust). The second digit (5) indicates the extent of protection against high-pressure water jets from any direction.

The ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP is NOT suitable for marine and/or coastal environment installations. Installing this fixture in such environments may cause corrosion and/or excessive wear to the interior and/or exterior components of the fixture. Damages and/or performance issues resulting from installation in a marine and/or coastal environment will void the manufacturer’s warranty and will NOT be subject to any warranty claims and/or repairs.

The ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP must be installed by a professional in a place out of the reach of people’s grasp. The fixture is fully operational in three different mounting positions: hanging upside-down, mounted sideways on trussing, or set on a flat level surface.

• Always ensure that the unit is firmly fixed to avoid vibration and slipping while operating.

• Always ensure that the structure to which you are attaching the unit is secure and is able to support a weight of 10 times the unit’s weight.

• ALWAYS use a safety cable that can hold 12 times the weight of the unit when installing the fixture.

• Be sure this fixture is kept at least 12m (40ft) away from any flammable materials (e.g., decoration).

• Ensure ALL connections and end caps are properly sealed with a non-conductive dielectric grease (available at most electrical suppliers) to prevent water ingress/condensation and/or corrosion.

To mount the fixture:

1. Screw one clamp via a M12 screw and nut into the Omega bracket.

2. Insert the quick-lock fasteners of the Omega bracket into the respective holes of the adjustable mounting bracket. Tighten the quick-lock fasteners fully clockwise.

3. Pull the safety-cable through the opening located on the rear of the unit and over the trussing system or a safe fixation spot. Insert the end in the carabiner and tighten the safety screw.

ALWAYS use and install the supplied safety cable as a safety measure to prevent accidental damage and/or injury in the event the clamp fails.

DMX-512: DMX (Digital Multiplex) is a universal protocol used for communication between intelligent fixtures and controllers. DMX data is sent as serial data from fixture to fixture via the DATA “IN” and DATA “OUT” XLR terminals.

DMX Linking: To ensure proper DMX data transmission, use the shortest cable path possible when linking multiple fixtures. The order in which fixtures are connected does not influence DMX addressing. For example, a fixture assigned a DMX address of 1 can be placed anywhere in the DMX line.

Data Cable Requirements: The ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP can be controlled via DMX-512 protocol and has 4 DMX channel modes. Your unit and controller require a 5-pin XLR connector for data input and output. Use standard 110-120 Ohm shielded cable. Cables should have a male and female XLR connector on either end. DMX cable must be daisy-chained and cannot be split.

Line Termination: For longer cable runs, a terminator may be needed on the last unit to avoid erratic behavior. A terminator is a 110-120 ohm 1/4 watt resistor connected between pins 2 and 3 of a male XLR connector (DATA + and DATA -). This is inserted into the female XLR connector of the last unit in the daisy chain.

All fixtures should be given a DMX starting address when using a DMX controller. You can set the same starting address for a group of fixtures, or set different addresses for each individual fixture. Setting all fixtures to the same DMX address will cause them all to react in the same way. If you set each fixture to a different DMX address, each unit will listen to the channel number you have set, based on the quantity of DMX channels of each fixture.

When setting addresses, you need to account for the number of channels used by the mode you have selected. For example, in 4 channel mode, you should set the starting DMX address of the first unit to 1, the second unit to 5 (4 + 1), the third unit to 9 (5 + 4), and so on. The following chart shows the starting address for the first four units in each channel mode:

*Current Maximum Temperature – Maximum fixture temp. that has been recorded, before reset and after reset.

**Maximum Temperature – Overall maximum fixture temp. that has been recorded. (Not Resettable)

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “DMX Address” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. The current DMX address will now be displayed. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to find your desired DMX address and press ENTER to confirm your setting. Press the MENU button to exit without any changes.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “DMX CH Mode” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. The current DMX channel mode will now be displayed. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to find your desired DMX channel mode and press ENTER to confirm your setting. Press the MENU button to exit without any changes.

This mode is a precaution for what the fixture should do if the DMX signal is lost or interrupted.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “No DMX State” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to find the operating mode you would like the unit to automatically revert to. The options are:

• Hold Last – If the DMX signal is lost or interrupted, the unit will stay in the last DMX setting.

• Blackout – If the DMX signal is lost or interrupted, the unit will automatically go into standby mode.

• Manual – If the DMX signal is lost or interrupted, the unit will default to the settings made under the “Manual Control” function.

3. Once you have found your desired setting, press ENTER to confirm.

This will let you select your desired dimmer mode. The dimmer speed adjustment will affect all dimmer modes.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “Dim Modes” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. One of 6 dimmer curves or the dim speed will be displayed. The options are “Standard”, “Stage”, “TV”, “Architectural”, “Theatre”, or “Stage 2”.

3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to find your desired dimmer curve and press ENTER to confirm.

With this function, you can adjust the dimming frequency.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “LED Refresh Rate” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the dimming frequency between 900hz, 1000hz, 1100hz, 1200hz, 1300hz, 1400hz, 1500hz, 6000hz, or 25000hz.

3. Once you have found your desired setting press ENTER to confirm.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “Gamma” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the gamma brightness.

3. Once you have found your desired setting press ENTER to confirm.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “Tungsten” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to toggle between “ON” and “OFF”. “ON” will activate this effect and “OFF” will deactivate it.

3. Once you have found your desired setting press ENTER to confirm.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “Display” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to switch between “Backlight” and “Display Lock”. Press the ENTER to select the setting you would like to adjust.

3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to toggle between “ON” and “OFF” for each function.

• Backlight – “ON” will keep the display on at all times, and “OFF” will have the display turn off after 20 seconds. To “light” the display, press any of the 4 buttons.

• Display Lock – “ON” will lock the display control after 30 seconds, and “OFF” will leave the display control unlocked. To unlock the display, press any 1 of the 4 buttons for at least 5 seconds.

4. Once you have found your desired settings, press the ENTER button to confirm.

This function allows you to manually adjust the LED output intensity and strobe rate. NOTE: The “No DMX State” setting MUST be set to “Manual” for this operational mode to work.

1. Press either the MENU, UP, or DOWN buttons until “Manual Control” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to switch between “WW LED” and “Strobe”. Press ENTER to select the function you would like to adjust.

3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the values of the selected function.

You can check various running times through the “Information” menu.

Power On Time (Total, Not Resettable):

1. Navigate to “Information” and press ENTER.

2. Select “Fixture Life Time” and press ENTER.

3. Select “Power On Time” and press ENTER to view the total power ON running time.

P-On Time-R (Current, Resettable):

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Life Time”.

2. Select “P-On Time-R” and press ENTER to view the current power ON running time since the last reset.

LED On Time (Total, Not Resettable):

1. Navigate to “Information” and press ENTER.

2. Select “Total LED Time” and press ENTER.

3. Select “LED On Time” and press ENTER to view the total LED ON time.

LED On Time-R (Current, Resettable):

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Total LED Time”.

2. Select “LED On Time-R” and press ENTER to view the current LED ON time since the last reset.

Reset P-On Time-R:

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Life Time”.

2. Select “P-On Time Reset” and press ENTER.

3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the pass code to “50” and press ENTER. The P-ON TIME-R will now be reset to “0”.

Reset LED On Time-R:

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Total LED Time”.

2. Select “LED Time Reset” and press ENTER.

3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the pass code to “50” and press ENTER. The LED ON TIME-R will now be reset to “0”.

You can check the current and highest recorded temperatures.

Current Temperature:

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Temps”.

2. Select “Current” and press ENTER. The current temperature will be displayed. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Max Resettable Temperature:

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Temps”.

2. Select “Max Resettable” and press ENTER to view the highest temperature reached since the last reset.

Max Not Resettable Temperature:

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Temps”.

2. Select “Max Not Resettable” and press ENTER to view the highest temperature the fixture has ever reached.

NOTE: When the temperature is reset, it will revert to the CURRENT temperature.

1. Navigate to “Information” -> “Fixture Temps”.

2. Select “Rst Temp History” and press ENTER.

3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the pass code to “50” and press ENTER. The MAX RESETTABLE temperature will now reset to the CURRENT fixture temperature.

Check DMX Values:

1. Press the MENU button until “Information” is displayed and press ENTER.

2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons until “DMX Values” is displayed and press ENTER.

3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to find the DMX channel you would like to check and press ENTER. The current DMX value of that channel will now be displayed.

Check Software Version:

1. Press the MENU button until “Information” is displayed, press ENTER.

2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons until “Software Version” is displayed and press ENTER.

3. The current software version will now be displayed.

You can connect the fixtures to one another using the power cable input and output sockets. NOTE: USE CAUTION WHEN POWER LINKING OTHER FIXTURES AS THE POWER CONSUMPTION OF OTHER MODEL FIXTURES MAY EXCEED THE MAX POWER OUTPUT ON THIS FIXTURE! CHECK THE SILK SCREEN FOR MAX AMPS.

The ADJ ENCORE BURST 100 IP has several dimmer curves, each with different rise and down times, which can be affected by the Fade Time setting (0 sec or 1 sec).

If the unit is not responding to DMX, check the following:

1. Check that the DMX cables are connected properly and are wired correctly (pin 3 is “hot”; on some other DMX devices pin 2 may be ‘hot’). Also, check that all cables are connected to the right connectors; it does matter which way the inputs and outputs are connected.

Due to fog residue, smoke, and dust, cleaning the internal and external optical lenses must be carried out periodically to optimize light output. Cleaning frequency depends on the environment in which the fixture operates (i.e. smoke, fog residue, dust, dew).

1. Use normal glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe down the outside casing.

2. Clean the external optics with glass cleaner and a soft cloth every 20 days.

3. Always be sure to dry all parts completely before plugging the unit back in.
