The following table lists the specifications for the JET JAT-105:

Step 1. Ensure the JET JAT-105 is properly lubricated before operation.

Step 2. Remove the protective cap from the air inlet.

Step 3. If an in-line oiler is not being used, add 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet.

Step 4. Blow out the air line to remove any dirt or moisture, then connect the air supply hose to the tool.

Step 5. Set the air pressure to 90 psi.

Step 6. Push the drive socket onto the anvil until it clicks into position.

Step 7. Rotate the regulator dial to the preferred setting. Rotate right for forward direction (3 speeds) or left for reverse (1 speed).

Step 1. Ensure the nut or bolt can withstand the rated torque of the JET JAT-105.

Step 2. Select reverse rotation.

Step 3. Place the socket over the nut, hold the grip firmly, and place the other hand over the top of the housing.

Step 4. Gently squeeze the trigger.

Step 5. If the tool cannot loosen the nut, do not raise the air pressure above 90 psi. If the air regulator is in a low setting, raise the setting and retry. If the regulator is already at maximum, do not continue attempts to loosen the nut with this tool.

Step 6. Release the trigger to stop the JET JAT-105.

Step 1. Install the nut as far as possible by hand.

Step 2. Select forward rotation.

Step 3. Place the socket over the nut, hold the grip firmly, and place the other hand over the top of the housing.

Step 4. Gently squeeze the trigger.

Step 5. If the JET JAT-105 stalls while tightening, do not raise the air pressure above 90 psi. If the air regulator is in a low setting, raise the setting and retry. If the nut will not tighten on the maximum setting, do not continue attempts to tighten the nut with this tool.

Step 6. Release the trigger to stop the tool.

Step 7. Do not overtighten. Fasteners with critical torque settings should be fully tightened with a torque wrench.

The JET JAT-105 should be lubricated daily or before each use with air tool oil through the air inlet. During continual operation, it should be re-oiled every 1 to 2 hours.

Manual lubrication procedure:

Step 1. Disconnect the air hose from the tool.

Step 2. Place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet.

Step 3. Re-connect air and run the JET JAT-105 at low throttle without load for a few seconds to distribute the oil throughout the tool.

Step 4. When finished operating, disconnect the air hose, wipe the housing with a dry cloth, place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet, re-connect air and run the tool for a few seconds to distribute the oil, then disconnect air.

To ensure proper operation of the JET JAT-105, follow these requirements:

1. Use the proper air hose size. The hose should be just long enough to serve the working area. Excessive hose length will cause pressure drop.

2. Ensure the air compressor supplies clean, dry air at the correct CFM for the tool.

3. Set the air pressure to 90 psi. Excess air pressure and/or unclean air will shorten the life of the JET JAT-105 and may create a hazardous situation.

4. Drain water from the air compressor tank daily, as well as any condensation from air lines.

5. Change filters on the air system on a regular basis.

6. Air-line pressure may be increased to compensate for extra-long air hoses (usually over 25 feet). The inside diameter of the hose should be a minimum of 3/8-inch.

Possible causes and remedies for the JET JAT-105 failing to start:

Air valve closed or obstructed: Open valve and clear any obstructions.

Dirt or gum deposits on components: Flush the JET JAT-105 with gum solvent. If the problem persists, disassemble, clean, and lubricate internal parts.

Rotor vanes or other components are worn: Replace worn components (replace vanes as an entire set).

Trigger inoperable: Clean the trigger mechanism to ensure free movement. Replace the mechanism if needed.

Bearing(s) worn: Disassemble and inspect the bearing. Grease or replace as needed.

Possible causes and remedies for the JET JAT-105 experiencing loss of power:

Low air pressure: Verify the compressor has the proper CFM rating for the tool, check the compressor regulator setting, set the air pressure to 90 psi, set the regulator dial on the JET JAT-105 to the maximum setting, and check for loose connections.

Moisture or obstruction in air hose: The air supply must be clean and dry. Clean out the air hose and remove any kinks or bends.

Improper size of air transmission lines, hoses, fittings, or couplings: Use appropriately-sized air lines/hoses and verify proper fittings/couplings.

Dirt or gum deposits on components: Flush the JET JAT-105 with gum solvent, check and clean the air filter on the compressor, and clean external areas of the tool. If the problem persists, disassemble, clean, and lubricate internal parts.

Rotor vanes are worn: Replace the rotor vanes (entire set).

For excessive or abnormal vibration: The bearing(s) may be worn. Disassemble and inspect the bearing, then grease or replace as needed.

For abnormal sound: There may be loose fasteners. Check the tightness of the housing and external fasteners on the JET JAT-105.
