What are the general installation guidelines for the INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter?
• It is normal for black carbon fines (particles) to appear on the outside of your filter. This happens when the filter is jarred in shipping. It is safe, simply wipe it off.
• The filter connectors are larger to prevent leaks. You might have to twist the filter hard to make sure the connection is secure.
• We apply a safe, NSF approved, food grade silicone lubricant to our filter connectors (jelly like substance).

How do I install the INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 refrigerator filter?
Carefully remove the plastic cap from the new filter before installation.
1. Before installing your new filter, soak it in water for 15 minutes.
2. Press the button to open the filter cover.
3. Pull the old filter down, then remove it.
Note: If you have a Kenmore refrigerator, check if there is a plastic or metal cap that covers the top of the old filter. If there is, pull off the cap and attach it to your new filter. If there is not, continue to step 4.
4. Push the new filter into the compartment horizontally until it stops.
5. Push up firmly as far as it will go.
6. Close the filter cover until it clicks into place.
7. Run 2-3 gallons of water through your refrigerator to remove air and loose carbon pieces.
What should I do after installing my new INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter?

What are the storage and maintenance instructions for the INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 refrigerator filter?
• Replace your filter every three to six months to prevent bacteria and fungus growth in your filter, supply lines, and storage tank.
• Stored filters do not expire. Keep your unused filters in a cool, dark, and dry place until you need them.
• If you do not use your water dispenser for more than four days, run two gallons of water before using it to prevent bad tasting water.
• The filters are lubricated with a safe, USDA grade silicone. You do not need to lubricate the gaskets or receiver before installing.
My refrigerator is not dispensing water after installing the INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter. What should I do?
• Make sure that you soaked your filter in water for 15 minutes before installing.
• Make sure that the filter is securely connected to the receiver. Do not use tools to tighten the filter in place.
• Make sure that the water line to the refrigerator is turned on. The valve must be completely open for the refrigerator to receive water.
• Make sure that the refrigerator door is closed or the dispenser will not work.
Why is my water dispenser dripping after installing the INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter?
A few drops are normal. If the water is dripping constantly, have a service technician check your refrigerator’s water valve.
Why is the water from my INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter cloudy or contain black carbon pieces?
• Cloudy water is caused by microscopic air bubbles. Run two to three gallons of water from your dispenser to clear the air bubbles out.
• Black carbon pieces in the water are normal and appear with all carbon filters. Run two to three gallons of water through your dispenser to remove loose carbon pieces.
My new INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter is making noises or sputtering. What is the cause?
• Make sure that you soaked your filter in water for 15 minutes before installing.
• Noises and sputtering are caused by trapped air pockets. Run two to three gallons of water from your dispenser to push the air out.
Why does my water taste bad with the new INSIGNIA NS-LT700P-2 filter?
• If you do not use your water dispenser for more than four days, run two gallons of water through the dispenser before using it.
• Make sure that you replace your filter every three to six months to prevent bacteria growth.
