To switch ON or OFF: press ON/OFF (①).

To select the DO, BOD, OUR or SOUR range: press RANGE.

To return to the previous screen: press ESC.

Remove the protective cap.

Moist the sensor for 5 minutes by soaking it in electrolyte solution (HI7041S).

Rinse the membrane cap with electrolyte solution while shaking it gently.

Refill with clean electrolyte solution.

Tap the probe repeatedly to remove any air bubbles that may be trapped inside.

With the sensor facing down, slowly screw the cap clockwise and wait 15 minutes before proceeding.

To take D.O. measurements: with meter off, connect the electrode’s DIN connector to appropriate socket and immerse the electrode in the solution. Switch ON the meter. Stir briefly and wait for a stable reading. For accurate readings make sure you have a calibrated meter and a conditioned probe.

To select the unit, D.O. (mg/L) or D.O. (%): press MODE.

To enter/exit Calibration mode: press CAL.

The included D.O. probe has a built-in temperature sensor allowing automatic temperature compensation (0.0 °C to 50.0 °C).

Up to two point automatic calibration or 1 point manual calibration are available. From calibration screen select DO.

Place the probe in zero oxygen solution (HI7040).

Wait for “CFM”. Press CFM to accept the calibration.

For one-point calibration in 0.0 % press ESC after the appropriate accepted solution. The meter returns to measurement mode.

For 100.0% calibration dry the probe and take measurements in the air.

Wait for “CFM”. Press CFM to accept the calibration. The meter returns to measurement mode.

Note: For one-point calibration in 100.0 % start calibration with 100.0 % point. The meter returns to measurement mode.

From calibration screen select: Pressure.

Use ▲/▼ keys to enter the real local barometric pressure from a reference barometer.

Wait for “CFM”. Press CFM to accept calibration. The meter returns to measurement mode.

From calibration screen select T.

Place the DO probe into a vessel at 0 °C.

Use ▲/▼ keys and set the calibration point at the temperature read from the reference thermometer.

Wait for “CFM”. Press CFM to accept the calibration.

For one point calibration press ESC.

Place the DO probe into a vessel at 50 °C and proceed as in one point calibration.

To enter/exit SETUP view mode, press SETUP while in measurement mode.

To toggle between the displayed parameters, press the ▲/▼ keys.

To enter/exit SETUP changing mode: press Modify or simply select option.

To store the current reading into the memory: press LOG while in measurement mode.

To view logged data: press RCL while in measurement mode.

To view more details: press More.

To delete records: press Delete key.

To delete all records: press Delete All.

To freeze the first stable reading on the LCD: press AutoEnd while in measurement mode; the “WAIT” tag will blink until the reading will stabilize, then “Hold” will be displayed.

To return to the measurement mode: press Continue.
