WARNING: Water in the pump filter can be very hot! Ensure water has cooled down before proceeding.

Steps:

1. Turn off and unplug the machine.

2. Push and open the service flap (usually at the bottom front).

3. Place a flat container underneath to catch residual water (there might be a significant amount).

4. Pull out the small drain hose located near the filter.

5. Hold the end of the drain hose over the container and remove the sealing plug from the hose end to let the water drain completely.

6. Once drained, replace the sealing plug securely in the drain hose and push the hose back into place.

7. Unscrew and remove the pump filter by turning it counterclockwise.

8. Remove contaminants and dirt from the filter (e.g., under running water).

9. Carefully clean the filter housing area as well.

10. Reinstall the clean filter by screwing it back in clockwise until it is tight and the handle is in a vertical position (does not move further).

11. Close the service flap.

CAUTION: The pump filter sealing must be clean and undamaged. If the filter lid is not fully tightened, water can escape. The filter must be in place, or leakage may occur.

What happens if there is too much foam during the spin cycle?

If too much foam is detected during the spin cycle, the motor stops, and the drain pump will activate for 90 seconds to try and eliminate the foam. If this foam elimination process fails after 3 attempts, the cycle will end without spinning. Reduce detergent dosage in future washes.

What happens in case of a power failure? Can I open the door?

The current cycle and its settings will be saved. When power is restored, operation will resume automatically. In an emergency (like a power failure when the door is locked), you can manually open the door lock if needed. First, ensure the water level is lowered sufficiently by draining the water via the pump filter’s emergency drain hose (as described in pump filter cleaning). Then, locate the manual unlock lever (A, usually near the pump filter area, see Fig 10-1). Pull this lever gently until the door unlocks with a click. Note: The door can only be unlocked if the machine is in a safe state (water level below the window, drum temperature below 55°C, drum not spinning).

How do I prepare the washing machine after unpacking?

Take the appliance out of the packaging. Remove all packaging material, including the protecting film on the cabinet and the polystyrene base. Keep packaging materials out of children’s reach and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner. Water drops on the plastic bag or porthole are normal (from factory tests).

How do I install the optional noise reduction pads?

Installation is optional to help reduce noise.

1. You will find four pads (two longer, two shorter) in the packaging.

2. Carefully lay the washing machine down on its side, with the porthole pointing upwards and the bottom side facing you.

3. Take out the noise reduction pads and remove the protective film from the double-sided adhesive.

4. Paste the pads around the bottom edge of the machine cabinet as shown in Figure 11-3: the two longer pads in positions 1 and 3 (front and back edges), and the two shorter pads in positions 2 and 4 (side edges).

5. Carefully set the machine upright again.

How do I remove the transportation bolts?

Transportation bolts clamp internal components during shipping to prevent damage. They MUST be removed before use.

1. Locate the 4 bolts on the rear side of the machine.

2. Unscrew and remove all 4 bolts using an appropriate spanner.

3. Pull out the plastic spacers associated with the bolts.

4. Fill the holes left by the bolts with the provided blanking plugs.

Keep all parts of the transport protection (bolts and spacers) in a safe place for later use if the appliance needs to be moved again.

How do I move the appliance?

If the machine needs to be moved, especially to a distant location, reinstall the transportation bolts (removed during initial setup) in reverse order to protect the internal components during transit. Remember the appliance is heavy; use 2 people.

How do I level the washing machine?

Proper levelling minimizes vibrations, noise, and wear and tear. The floor should be stable and flat. Use a spirit level for accuracy.

1. Locate the adjustable feet at the bottom corners of the machine.

2. Loosen the locknut (1) on each foot using a wrench.

3. Adjust the height of each foot (2) by turning it until the appliance is perfectly level in all directions (check with spirit level on top edges).

4. Once level, tighten the locknut (1) firmly against the machine housing on all feet to secure the position.

How do I connect the drain hose?

The drain hose must discharge at a height between 60 cm and 100 cm from the appliance’s bottom line. Always fix the hose to the clip on the back of the appliance if possible.

Connection options:

1. **To a sink:** Hang the drain hose over the edge of a sink using the U-support bracket provided. Ensure the U-support is secured sufficiently to prevent slipping.

2. **To a standpipe:** The internal diameter of the standpipe (with vent-hole) must be at least 40 mm. Insert the drain hose 60-100 mm into the pipe. Attach the U-support to the hose and secure it (e.g., with a tie) to prevent it from slipping out of the pipe.

3. **To a sink spigot:** Connect the drain hose to the under-sink spigot. The connection point must be above the siphon trap. If the spigot is closed by a blanking pad (A), this must be removed first. Secure the drain hose to the spigot with a clamp.

CAUTION:

– The drain hose should not be submerged in water.

– Ensure the connection is securely fixed and leak-free.

– If the hose is placed on the ground or the discharge point is less than 60 cm high, the machine may continuously drain while filling (self-siphoning).

– Do not extend the drain hose. If a longer hose is needed, contact customer service.

What should I check before making the electrical connection?

Before plugging in the appliance, check that:

– The power supply, socket, and fusing are appropriate for the details on the rating plate.

– The power socket is properly earthed (grounded).

– No multi-plug adapters or extension cords are used.

– The power plug and socket match fully.

Ensure all connections (power, drain, fresh water) are firm, dry, and leak-free. Make sure hoses and cords are not crushed, kinked, or twisted. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a service agent to avoid hazards.
